The cynical part of me thinks they worked so hard because they were materialists. Everybody keeps score in different ways... Of course - the Music Biz was radically different then. (Yes?? No??) For all this talk of competition & trying to distinguish themselves - it has th patina of sameness to me... Their strenuous desperation seems a compensation for not having ideas or much to say to me... like HipHop when it to being nothing but talking about how bad they are... But still - they're Rawking hard, right ?...

UV-TV formed in Gainesville, Florida, in the mid-2010s, but by the turn of the decade they’d relocated to New York City. Their first release after moving to NYC, 2021’s Always Something, was one of EFD’s favorites of that year; they’ll play some songs from that album as well as some new songs from an upcoming release. Tune in for some post-punk jangle-drone!

The Prof. Fuzz 63 are a three-piece family band from just north of Dallas. They’re also literally a garage band. Their garage/practice space is adorned with photos of The Cramps, among others, and singer uses an old telephone handset for a mic. What else do you need to know? OK, they’re also playing May 22 at Berlin in NYC and May 23 at Finnegan’s in Hoboken.
