Gotta admit, I’m feeling particularly helpless & frustrated these days. Is there a solution or options beyond the one that seems increasingly likely?

States Rights, that's what the Civil War was about, that's what the South claimed when the reinstituted the policies as much as they could after the Civil War (I'm reading Heather Cox Richardson's "How the South Won the Civil War', and read her daily newsletter. She's a historian, and she always points out how what's happening now is very much from the Southern Democratic playbook before and after the Civil War.
