Big Guitars from Texas  Boomerang   Favoriting For years, I was the Friday morning man at WFMU and the segue from Nachum's shabbos song to Big Guitars is forever seared into my brain-- although you miss it on the archive! 
Dick Dale  Third Stone from the Sun   Favoriting The surf guitar master pays tribute to Jimi Hendrix; this tune is the highlight of Dick Dale's 1996 "Calling Up Spirits" album on Beggars Banquet 
Nighthawks w/ Pinetop Perkins & Bob Margolin  Two Bugs & a Roach   Favoriting 1980s DC blues band with help from two Muddy Waters alums; from "Jacks & Kings"-- two (vinyl) volumes combined into one CD

Emiko Tada  It's Alright   Favoriting Japanese pianist: The CD is "Emiko Tada and Friends"-- Salena Jones the only non-Japanese musician-- on Mr. Kelly's (2001) 
Serena Jones w/ Emiko Tada  Summer Wind   Favoriting Her website says she was born Joan Shaw in Virginia in 1944 but she is listed as the vocalist on "He Knows How to Hucklebuck" by Paul Williams, recorded in 1949! Salena Jones & Antonio Carlos Jobim  Dindi   Favoriting Salena got her new name from SArah Vaughn & LENA Horne. She now lives in England and performs mostly in Europe and Asia-- although she did a nice album with Jobim 
Caetano Veloso  (Nothing But) Flowers   Favoriting Wonderful cover of David Byrne tune by Brazilian vocalist, on his strange English language album "A Foreign Sound" (Nonesuch/2004) 
Bahia Black  Guia Pro Congal   Favoriting I got turned on to Carlinhos Brown from this 1992 one-shot project. The band included Brazilian percussion ensemble Oladum plus Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Bernie Worrell and Henry Threadgill 
Marisa Monte  Cerebro Electronico   Favoriting Fascinating Brazilian pop from MM's 1996 "A Great Noise" CD on EMI; more recently, she worked with Carlinhos Brown and Arnaldo Antunes on the excellent 2003 "Tribalistas" album

Mose Allison  You Call It Joggin'   Favoriting ...but I call it runnin' around. Mose has over 30 albums of his unique brand of clever lyrics and jazz/blues piano. He's one of the best. 
Peter Gammons  Nyqil Blues   Favoriting Boston Globe/ESPN sportswriter Gammons recently put out a nice album of covers-- with help from a bunch of Red Sox players and some rock musicians-- as a fundraiser for local kids. Gammons is now recovering from brain surgery.
