Donne Roberts has an unusual international background: Born in Madagascar, he grew up in Moscow, studied in France and now lives in Toronto. He was the first African to host a show on MTV Russia. And he has participated in the African-Canadian project African Guitar Summit, the 2005 Juno Award winner for best World Music Album. His fine solo debut CD Rhythm Was Born was released in 2006. Donne's music is driven by his roots in Madagascar but plays on other influences as well - from aboriginal Canadian to rock and soul. He tells his story and introduces tracks from his CD.
