i didn't even have to see the accuplaylist, but I knew that had to have been Citay. They have a really unique style of phrasing and guitar tone and whatnot. Anyway, they made a new album? I'm going to have to try to get that

hello Romania!!!

Wed. 10/24/07 4:48pm From: Parq

Greetings from a Flatiron District office, half-buried under work. This is a really cool show! The music is challenging, but - well, musical. I haven't heard ML since her morning-shift days, and I'd forgotten what a wonderful aggregation of weird sounds she's putting out there.

Wed. 10/24/07 4:51pm From: Sean Padilla

Today is an especially good day because I get to hear the Electro Group TWICE on WFMU :-)

Wed. 10/24/07 4:55pm From: maria

Hey parq --well if it wasnt challenging it wouldnt be wfmu eh? hope to help you make it through the pile in style

and Sean-- Happy to indulge your tastes

Wed. 10/24/07 5:18pm From: Sean Padilla

Lee Perry @ this year's SXSW was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen in my life. When the cops came to shut him down for going over time, he shouted into the mic: "MUSIC LOVERS, YOU NEED A NEW GOVERNMENT!"

Wed. 10/24/07 5:20pm From: maria

sean-- that is so true in many ways

Wed. 10/24/07 5:29pm From: chris

purty music

Wed. 10/24/07 5:36pm From: Eric Pelka

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sooo much inspiration every week with your magical shows. Plenty of paintings made from your music selections over the years!

Wed. 10/24/07 5:38pm From: Taylor Jessen

Your desk monkey audience hasn't left you for their cars - we're still at our desks, Googling everything you play because it must instantly be added to our want lists.

In years to come people will ask me "What is HAUNTING?" I will then hand them copies of the wonderful, wordless thing you played a few minutes ago. Which I'm hoping was Gang Gang Dance. See what I mean by Googling.

I need a Japanese easy-listening hipster to find me an easy-listening LP only released in Japan in the 60s. Can you advise?

Wed. 10/24/07 5:47pm From: maria

Taylor--need more details unless youre lookin gofr someting general.

Wed. 10/24/07 5:58pm From: Taylor Jessen

I have exhaustive details posted on my personal web page about the particulars of the record I'm looking for. However this forum sez "no html please" so I can only invite you to Google the terms "Jessen" and "mystery record".

BoingBoing blogged about it earlier this year, by the way.

Wed. 10/24/07 11:19pm From: Mr. Sergio

dang good music today maria!
Reverend Beat kicked my ass.
he was like a somber frog singing to me from his swampy bog. and the only reason i heard his tiny voice was because i held my ear up to a soft mossy hollow tree and found his echo...
or at least that's what i thought when i listened to it :)
