Listener comments!

  9:19am Parq:

Mornin', Doug. What was Lincoln for Halloween?
  9:24am Doug:

Reprising the costume she wore as a 3-month-old (though not the same outfit) she was a devil.
  9:39am Pamela:

Where in the world are we going next? From Africa to...
  9:41am Pamela:

Doug, speaking of Zimbabwe, I ran across this site fairly recently: http://bob.co.za/index.htm . Funny in a sad sad way. I lived in Zimbabwe in 1989 and it was such a wonderful place then.
  9:46am Doug:

Chilling.
  9:51am Pamela:

Did you go inside the site? It's NOT really his site.
  10:02am Doug:

Not sure what to make of that site. (No, I hadn't gone past the opening page.) None of the criticisms of Mugabe seem to be concerned with his true crimes. It seems to be a kind of parody of Mugabe as a black doofus and not a cruel and vindictive tyrant. The origin of the website is South Africa and I suspect that it is more coming from the racist white perspective of the old Rhodesian ruling class. (This is all based on a 10 second peek whilst I'm trying to cue records, of course!)
  10:08am Pamela:

I saw it as effective belittling of a tyrant, and comparing him with other tyrants thus putting him in context. It's just one way to speak out against him - a half serious way.
  10:32am pat:

man, Roscoe has a great voice...
  10:35am paul b:

Pamela, I think Doug's right I'm afraid - at a quick glance it looks to pretty homophobic too.
  10:38am Scratch Cracker:

Saw Brosseau at SXSW in Austin at a church, really great!
  10:42am Paul Sherratt:

  10:44am Paul Sherratt:

Ahem .. The above should have read " The top US radio station "
  10:48am jonathan:

hey doug.
that henry flynt song is amazing!
  10:50am Philip Russo:

Hi, Doug! Love listening to the show on the Internet. Unemployment sure has its benefits!
  10:50am Dedalus:

Nice. I might look further into that Dublin Crawdaddy gig. For a night out if nothing else. He sounded very similar to Fionn Regan. Anyway, about to finish me shift. Thanks again Doug. See ya next week!.
  10:50am Philip Russo:

BTW, they didn't tell me there would be math on this test.
  11:03am josh:

what did doug say was one of the best records of all time (from that last set)?
  11:06am Doug:

Josh, I made that remark about "Trout Steel" by Mike Cooper.
  11:53am g:
