WOMEX is the annual worldwide world music industry convention, something like a mini-CMJ for world music moguls, musicians, pundits and enthusiasts, most recently held in October in lovely Sevilla, Spain. Rob attended, along with journalists Tad Hendrickson (Global Rhythm Magazine), Tom Pryor (National Geographic World Music) and Anastasia Tsioulcas (Billboard). The four globetrotting pals reconvene to share the best music they heard at WOMEX showcase concerts. And they tangle themselves up in Mclaughlin Group-esque knots debating what they saw, heard and learned at WOMEX 2007.
