Happy new year folks. And happy Iowa Caucus day.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:05pm From: Matt

It's a very pleasant surprise to hear you on Thursday.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:08pm From: Hatch

Glad to be here.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:09pm From: Roscoe

Thanks for the nice wishes! You should play 'X - The Real World' in honor of Caucus Day!

Thu. 1/3/08 12:10pm From: Sean Daily

Fifth comment! Woo hoo!

Thu. 1/3/08 12:12pm From: Briezy

Hey Hatch. I like this music you are playing. All of it. 2008 will be a good year to be sure. Was anyone doing something unique at midnight? Not me. Just watching the ball drop...

Thu. 1/3/08 12:12pm From: Andrew

This Heliocentrics is beautiful, trip-hop in 08!

Thu. 1/3/08 12:14pm From: lonnie

hatch, you seem to be pretty interested in politics as a civic duty. in this day and age, how do you see someone like ron paul who has some brilliant ideas, and also has some duds? is there any way to place a weighted value on such things, or do you have to take a candidate as a whole entity? play some jay reteard to sort it out.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:22pm From: Wes

Hatch fill-in? How sweet it is.... And yes, I did something interesting for New Years, throwing fireworks off the roof of an old abandoned hospital downtown, cops were called, cops left, fun was had!!!

Thu. 1/3/08 12:26pm From: Briezy

Oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:26pm From: north guinea hills

happy new year everyone! zzzzzz..... still tired at work....

Thu. 1/3/08 12:27pm From: Hatch

I don't know that Ron Paul has any brilliant ideas, aside from ending the war in Iraq. But I do think he might get third place in Iowa, which would at least keep things entertaining on the Republican side.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:41pm From: Ken

Thanks for Sis Morphine Hatch, first time I ever heard it played on FMU! My predictions for Iowa: Edwards and Romney. You heard it here first.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:46pm From: kwiz

The Anna Karina track was majestic. Thanks for knowing about her.

My predictions for Iowa: Barrack towering over closed by Clinton, then closely followed by Edwards

The Republicans:
Huckabee followed by Romney, then Guiliani.

Ron Paul and McCain are my underdogs and I'd like to see them in it, but you can only hope.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:47pm From: Trent

Is there something wrong with the radio? All of the sounds are repeating.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:51pm From: Hatch

Maybe there's something wrong with YOUR radio.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:51pm From: deena

I want to go to a Caucus party. Last election my boyfriend I and went to a pub to watch the VP debates and we were overruled by the lame ass bar tender who wanted to watch baseball.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:52pm From: Hatch

Kwiz, no way Giuliani cracks the top three. It will be McCain, Paul, or maaaaaaaybe Grandpa Fred Thompson.

Thu. 1/3/08 12:52pm From: Trent

Oh, you're right....had the delay pedal plugged in. Service with a smile on HATCH'S PROGRAM! Thanks!

Thu. 1/3/08 12:55pm From: Parq

What an astonishing life's journey Marianne Faithful has led, mapped in large part by changes in her voice more substantial than any other performer I know except Bowie (your "I *** Mick Jagger" joke goes here). Those wanting to know where her muse came to lie should check out her superb 1997 live cabaret album, 20th "Century Blues".

Thu. 1/3/08 1:05pm From: Kwiz

Hatch, Not really, but it would be interesting.

Honestly, I think McCain might make it.

Thu. 1/3/08 1:13pm From: north guinea hills

i love fariport's " unhalfbricking"... that album was my gateway album to my hippietude

Thu. 1/3/08 1:15pm From: Vee Dee

No idea how "Future Victims of Landslide Elections" found it's way into this thread

Thu. 1/3/08 1:19pm From: Alex

Yea Ron Paul!

Thu. 1/3/08 1:19pm From: Kit

Le't play some MOTORHEAD !!!!!!!!

Thu. 1/3/08 1:21pm From: Hatch

Thu. 1/3/08 1:23pm From: Gerald

Thu. 1/3/08 1:35pm From: Derek

Haha, I never appreciated Motorhead before hearing Ron Paul talking over it

Thu. 1/3/08 1:36pm From: Vee Dee

Is that really Ron? I seriously thought that was a DJ being funny. Great stuff.

Thu. 1/3/08 1:36pm From: philthy

That was Maiden, dude.

Thu. 1/3/08 1:42pm From: Wes

More Deathklok please. Motorhead is for pansies.

Thu. 1/3/08 1:43pm From: Vee Dee

I'm just now getting the relevance of that Ron Paul sound bite with that song. Well played. I guess that's why he's the DJ and I am merely the rapper.

Thu. 1/3/08 1:47pm From: Richard

That Yeasayer was awesome, thanks! Yeah a new band to check out.....

Thu. 1/3/08 1:47pm From: deadbaby

children of the damned? um, did I miss something here? I kill sperm a lot, and they are as living as an embryo. I'm a spermurderer!

Thu. 1/3/08 1:52pm From: Vee Dee

Nice Ron Paul logo. is that an original WFMU / Hatch creation?

Thu. 1/3/08 1:55pm From: Hatch

Get it from Mike Lupica. Not sure where it originally came from...

Thu. 1/3/08 1:57pm From: Sean Daily

I must get that Iron Maiden font.

Thu. 1/3/08 2:07pm From: Vee Dee

I must see that on a black tee before it becomes lame.

Thu. 1/3/08 2:11pm From: efd

Thu. 1/3/08 2:13pm From: louise
