Last week it was the Superbowl...this week the Grammys. I'm pondering whether to mention on-air or not. Mixed feelings. Input?

Sun. 2/10/08 9:13pm From: myk

The Grammy's are borring. Why not devote the show's talk time to time travel!

Sun. 2/10/08 9:16pm From: Jon

almost everything is interesting, depends how you look at it.

Sun. 2/10/08 9:18pm From: Ike

No reason to mention the Grammys, in my opinion. There is virtually no audience overlap. Well, maybe one or two FMUers might tune in to see if Amy Winehouse appears, and if so, will she be totally coked up and incoherent? But if so, we can watch it on the web later. Your show is undoubtedly infinitely more entertaining and edifying.

Glad to know that WFMU is stretching into my favorite wine country!! Was thinking of New Zealand today....when I was in the middle of nowhere in Decemeber my salvation was in lively bottles of Nobilo & Oyster Bay.

Sun. 2/10/08 9:37pm From: bethany

Also - apropos of New Zealand - I don't mean to reduce the entire country into 750 ml bottles...but until I can travel there someday that might be the closest I can get!

Sun. 2/10/08 9:39pm From: sm

can you tell us something about Alquima?

Sun. 2/10/08 9:44pm From: Bob Ham

Hey Bethany...listening in Portland OR. Keep up the good work.

Sun. 2/10/08 9:48pm From: bethany

Alquimia - ok...yes! First thing - I slaughtered the pronunciation of her name (al-KEEM-ea. Second: I updated the playlist with liner notes from the CD I played (1993). And third: she has a mySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/alquimiamusic

Enjoy!

Massive comma abuse detected directly above. Laser-wielding drones dispatched for corrective behavior modification. Triple-comma grammar misuse will always cue punitive measures forthwith. BZZzzztttt!
