Listener comments!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:01am From: Hatch

Good morning, folks.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:02am From: Hector

Hello Hatch!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:04am From: Bad Ronald

Mornin'

Tue. 2/12/08 9:09am From: Dickdong (UK)

And where were you last week? I missed the show, then the archive didn't appear. I really wanted to hear your Super Tuesday rant - and there wasn't one!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:10am From: Hatch

Decided I'd be better off without ranting to y'all, will explain during a mic break.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:15am From: mihai

feeling this Keith Hudson here in sunny London!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:19am From: Bob

Morning, how about some Bobby Beausoleil today?

Tue. 2/12/08 9:33am From: Wes

Good morning, Hatch...please tell me there is no way McCain gets into office

Tue. 2/12/08 9:35am From: Hatch

Who knows? If Clinton gets the nomination, McCain's definitely got a shot.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:39am From: John McCain

this set sounds more conservative than most of my policies. Is this WFMU or some local NPR outlet? I've been in campaign elevators with funkier music playing than this! What kind of an Obama fan are you?

Tue. 2/12/08 9:41am From: Hatch

That's what this show is all about. Conservative sounds and right-wing hate speech.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:42am From: Tom

Patty Patty Puke Puke Buchanan said that McCain will make Cheney look like Ghandi!

Run! Help!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:46am From: Hatch

I don't know about that. McCain's unstable but I really don't think he's Cheney-level crazy.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:47am From: Ike

Re: comment by "McCain" above: BWAH! Good stuff. This song sounds like it's by conservative hippies. Hee hee.

As for D.C./MD/VA, Hatch, you've prob. got TONS of listeners there. D.C. has perhaps the worst, most boring non-comm FMs in the nation, and that's saying something. They have basically no college radio and nothing remotely like FMU or WNYU or even WKCR. So they're driven to online radio.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:48am From: Wes

He may not be Cheney-level "evil" but he is certainly equal or beyond crazy...he is all sorts of levels of crazy.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:50am From: lonnie

mccain/condi rice in '08. done deal. i don't really understand mccain. he always trys to play nice, thinking "i just have to make it to november." he'd probably win more people over if he just let the crazy fly.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:50am From: C

DC listener here. Voting at Duke Ellington HS this afternoon.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:51am From: dei x

C, does your city/company give you the day off?

Tue. 2/12/08 9:53am From: spacehoof

Ron Cornelius ..from SOULTRAIN???

Awsome!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:53am From: C

Nah, unfortunately. But the polls stay open till 8, so I'll go after work.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:55am From: Parq

Ike, I haven't experienced DC-land radio, but non-com radio in Philly is pretty awful, too. Hatch, congrats on a job well done. The headlines had a win for Hil, but the fine print noted that 'Bam took 40% of the state's delegates. Not too shabby.

Tue. 2/12/08 9:56am From: Cecile

We need a Paul Metzger raga here right about now. ;D

Tue. 2/12/08 9:57am From: pfk

i am very happy to hear wfmu on the air, and to hear that they are getting a booster soon. its good to be near NYC!!

Tue. 2/12/08 9:58am From: michael

i'm not the world's biggest chant enthusiast, but this is a pretty great chant.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:01am From: hector

That advertisement coordinated with mantra it is making me nervous...

Tue. 2/12/08 10:02am From: Fairbrother

Parq, ever listen to WKDU (Drexel)? No FMU, of course – DJ talk is sometimes sophomoric -- but they’ve got some good programming. Heavy prog on Sunday afternoons is just right for a February on the Schuylkill.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:04am From: Ike

Lonnie, I doubt McC has gone nuts enough to pick Rice for VP. Too much Bush taint. Maybe a Hispanic general or admiral? Or J.C. Watts?

Rumor is, he might consider Charlie Crist of Florida, but rumors also say Crist is, ummm, Log Cabin-y. The ultra-right-wingnuts would go bonkers! I kinda wanna see this happen. Republ-implosion!

Parq, Philly has OK non-comms if you have a good antenna. WPRB, Drexel, various smaller stations in some suburbs. Even XPN is getting louder and noisier. D.C. is far worse.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:11am From: Parq

Ike, Fairbro, thanks for the tip. Last time I was in Philly, I stayed in Drexel-land, so that would have been opportune.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:14am From: Cecile

But what about the blimp?

Tue. 2/12/08 10:16am From: Reed

Speaking of heavy and Japanese, do you have any Highrise?

Tue. 2/12/08 10:18am From: Hatch

We sure do. Not sure if I'll be able to get to it, got a lot of stuff I want to play today.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:24am From: dei x

Just imagine - one of the pictures that is destined to make your grandkid's history books will be the Ron Paul blimp. Next to the clip from Family Guy of G Dubya playing with a slinky.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:24am From: Cecile

ahhht the Meadow of Deadness....good stuff

Tue. 2/12/08 10:30am From: Reed

This sounds remarkably like Animal Collective.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:31am From: Hatch

The Spanish thing? Yeah, that's about right.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:32am From: joe nathan

WOW i seriously macked on that el guincho!!! thanx for playin that!!

Tue. 2/12/08 10:38am From: inquiring mind

Are you the Joe Nathan that pitches for the Twins?

Tue. 2/12/08 10:42am From: dei x

Hatch, you're really fluffing this comment section up. C'mon everybody, follow Dei, Negator, Dave/NH, and the 5 other people through the wonderful playlists of 9-5 FMU!

Tue. 2/12/08 10:43am From: Hatch

Exactly. The comments are in need of some fluffin'. Not that I don't love all you regulars.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:45am From: dei x

What are we going to do now that Ron Paul's supporters' shenanigans are no longer going to be on the national level?

Tue. 2/12/08 10:49am From: Winslow

DILLA! Can you play some Galt Macdermot or some David Axelrod

Tue. 2/12/08 10:53am From: Hektor

Hello. I am greatly enjoying your eclectic mix, here in Germany.

Tue. 2/12/08 10:54am From: Hatch

Danke.

Tue. 2/12/08 11:04am From: lonnie

reggae's back? awesome. i can finally listen to legend and the second ub40 album without shame

Tue. 2/12/08 11:05am From: Reggae

Actually no, you can't do that.

Tue. 2/12/08 11:06am From: Cecile

That UB40 album with Tyler was pretty great. Was that their first one?

Tue. 2/12/08 11:10am From: dei x

Thrill Jockey's catalog is consistently faboo. I first heard of them when I was a DJ. The world before Tortoise was a world before Tortoise.

Tue. 2/12/08 11:47am From: the finger

there! busted!

Tue. 2/12/08 11:49am From: Cecile

They are still better than Nile.

Tue. 2/12/08 11:49am From: Hatch

I said "wussiest," not "worst."

Tue. 2/12/08 11:52am From: Cecile

Oh, I stand corrected.

Tue. 2/12/08 11:58am From: g

this is a great stereolab record

Tue. 2/12/08 11:59am From: Hatch

Take it back!

Thu. 2/21/08 10:09pm From: abraham araujo
