Listener comments!

  9:01am
Hatch:

Good morning, folks.
  9:02am
Hector:

Hello Hatch!
  9:04am
Bad Ronald:

Mornin'
  9:09am
Dickdong (UK):

And where were you last week? I missed the show, then the archive didn't appear. I really wanted to hear your Super Tuesday rant - and there wasn't one!
  9:10am
Hatch:

Decided I'd be better off without ranting to y'all, will explain during a mic break.
  9:15am
mihai:

feeling this Keith Hudson here in sunny London!
  9:19am
Bob:

Morning, how about some Bobby Beausoleil today?
  9:33am
Wes:

Good morning, Hatch...please tell me there is no way McCain gets into office
  9:35am
Hatch:

Who knows? If Clinton gets the nomination, McCain's definitely got a shot.
  9:39am
John McCain:

this set sounds more conservative than most of my policies. Is this WFMU or some local NPR outlet? I've been in campaign elevators with funkier music playing than this! What kind of an Obama fan are you?
  9:41am
Hatch:

That's what this show is all about. Conservative sounds and right-wing hate speech.
  9:42am
Tom:

Patty Patty Puke Puke Buchanan said that McCain will make Cheney look like Ghandi!

Run! Help!
  9:46am
Hatch:

I don't know about that. McCain's unstable but I really don't think he's Cheney-level crazy.
  9:47am
Ike:

Re: comment by "McCain" above: BWAH! Good stuff. This song sounds like it's by conservative hippies. Hee hee.

As for D.C./MD/VA, Hatch, you've prob. got TONS of listeners there. D.C. has perhaps the worst, most boring non-comm FMs in the nation, and that's saying something. They have basically no college radio and nothing remotely like FMU or WNYU or even WKCR. So they're driven to online radio.
  9:48am
Wes:

He may not be Cheney-level "evil" but he is certainly equal or beyond crazy...he is all sorts of levels of crazy.
  9:50am
lonnie:

mccain/condi rice in '08. done deal. i don't really understand mccain. he always trys to play nice, thinking "i just have to make it to november." he'd probably win more people over if he just let the crazy fly.
  9:50am
C:

DC listener here. Voting at Duke Ellington HS this afternoon.
  9:51am
dei x:

C, does your city/company give you the day off?
  9:53am
spacehoof:

Ron Cornelius ..from SOULTRAIN???

Awsome!
  9:53am
C:

Nah, unfortunately. But the polls stay open till 8, so I'll go after work.
  9:55am
Parq:

Ike, I haven't experienced DC-land radio, but non-com radio in Philly is pretty awful, too. Hatch, congrats on a job well done. The headlines had a win for Hil, but the fine print noted that 'Bam took 40% of the state's delegates. Not too shabby.
  9:56am
Cecile:

We need a Paul Metzger raga here right about now. ;D
  9:57am
pfk:

i am very happy to hear wfmu on the air, and to hear that they are getting a booster soon. its good to be near NYC!!
  9:58am
michael:

i'm not the world's biggest chant enthusiast, but this is a pretty great chant.
  10:01am
hector:

That advertisement coordinated with mantra it is making me nervous...
  10:02am
Fairbrother:

Parq, ever listen to WKDU (Drexel)? No FMU, of course – DJ talk is sometimes sophomoric -- but they’ve got some good programming. Heavy prog on Sunday afternoons is just right for a February on the Schuylkill.
  10:04am
Ike:

Lonnie, I doubt McC has gone nuts enough to pick Rice for VP. Too much Bush taint. Maybe a Hispanic general or admiral? Or J.C. Watts?

Rumor is, he might consider Charlie Crist of Florida, but rumors also say Crist is, ummm, Log Cabin-y. The ultra-right-wingnuts would go bonkers! I kinda wanna see this happen. Republ-implosion!

Parq, Philly has OK non-comms if you have a good antenna. WPRB, Drexel, various smaller stations in some suburbs. Even XPN is getting louder and noisier. D.C. is far worse.
  10:11am
Parq:

Ike, Fairbro, thanks for the tip. Last time I was in Philly, I stayed in Drexel-land, so that would have been opportune.
  10:14am
Cecile:

But what about the blimp?
  10:16am
Reed:

Speaking of heavy and Japanese, do you have any Highrise?
  10:18am
Hatch:

We sure do. Not sure if I'll be able to get to it, got a lot of stuff I want to play today.
  10:24am
dei x:

Just imagine - one of the pictures that is destined to make your grandkid's history books will be the Ron Paul blimp. Next to the clip from Family Guy of G Dubya playing with a slinky.
  10:24am
Cecile:

ahhht the Meadow of Deadness....good stuff
  10:30am
Reed:

This sounds remarkably like Animal Collective.
  10:31am
Hatch:

The Spanish thing? Yeah, that's about right.
  10:32am
joe nathan:

WOW i seriously macked on that el guincho!!! thanx for playin that!!
  10:38am
inquiring mind:

Are you the Joe Nathan that pitches for the Twins?
  10:42am
dei x:

Hatch, you're really fluffing this comment section up. C'mon everybody, follow Dei, Negator, Dave/NH, and the 5 other people through the wonderful playlists of 9-5 FMU!
  10:43am
Hatch:

Exactly. The comments are in need of some fluffin'. Not that I don't love all you regulars.
  10:45am
dei x:

What are we going to do now that Ron Paul's supporters' shenanigans are no longer going to be on the national level?
  10:49am
Winslow:

DILLA! Can you play some Galt Macdermot or some David Axelrod
  10:53am
Hektor:

Hello. I am greatly enjoying your eclectic mix, here in Germany.
  10:54am
Hatch:

Danke.
  11:04am
lonnie:

reggae's back? awesome. i can finally listen to legend and the second ub40 album without shame
  11:05am
Reggae:

Actually no, you can't do that.
  11:06am
Cecile:

That UB40 album with Tyler was pretty great. Was that their first one?
  11:10am
dei x:

Thrill Jockey's catalog is consistently faboo. I first heard of them when I was a DJ. The world before Tortoise was a world before Tortoise.
  11:47am
the finger:

there! busted!
  11:49am
Cecile:

They are still better than Nile.
  11:49am
Hatch:

I said "wussiest," not "worst."
  11:52am
Cecile:

Oh, I stand corrected.
  11:58am
g:

this is a great stereolab record
  11:59am
Hatch:

Take it back!
  10:09pm
abraham araujo:

hi there, man what was the track played on the talk just after the atlas sound track?
