Thu. 3/27/08 12:15pm From: jeff

Thu. 3/27/08 12:19pm From: Cecile

I love Mr. Giant Man.

But Rhys is pretty great, though. Thank you for playing it.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:20pm From: EDM

Thu. 3/27/08 12:21pm From: Sean Daily

But... but... I like the silly giant man song...

Thu. 3/27/08 12:21pm From: rickyricky

the cover of that last boris seven inch seems a little "ehhh." but i'm wondering, anyone heard it yet?

Thu. 3/27/08 12:22pm From: Bad Ronald

Come Along Come Along!!!

Thu. 3/27/08 12:23pm From: junkie

Gian man was cute for the first 3 million times. BTW, i am ?

Thu. 3/27/08 12:26pm From: Matt

I love giant man, but that Chatham track was mind blistering.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:34pm From: dei xhrist

I'm a little out of touch - was the guitar noodling Parkins? There's a little delay between the playlist and the Foobar info line and I don't recognize any names yet. Oh but I want to.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:38pm From: PJ

Hello from Chapel Hill, Evan! Usually I only hear you in the day if I'm hitting up the archives. Rock on, WXYC alum!

Thu. 3/27/08 12:40pm From: Dale

Where's Fabio?

Thu. 3/27/08 12:40pm From: EDM

Hey PJD! chapel hill represent! i admit...i will be watching a little college basketball tonight.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:41pm From: Cecile

In the land of Giant Man.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:42pm From: Dale

You can dance in double-time!

Thu. 3/27/08 12:43pm From: Carmichael

Hello All. This music is making me happy.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:46pm From: junkie

Yes, the lyrics are etched into my mind too.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:50pm From: Parq

I like James Last's "Giant Man" so much, I downloaded it from Beware of the Blog. You can, too!

http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/08/365-days-218---.html

Thu. 3/27/08 12:52pm From: Cecile

Nice, Parq. I gotta do that.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:52pm From: junkie

Great, then you can listen to it all the time...

Thu. 3/27/08 12:52pm From: Cecile

This Bellaphon music makes me feel like I should be skiing down the Alps rapidly.

Thu. 3/27/08 12:54pm From: north guinea hills

parmegiani, probably my favorite electroacoustic composer....

Thu. 3/27/08 12:54pm From: dei x

If I had Giant Man on vinyl, I'd keep it in my Gentle Giant sleeve. Or King Crimson, with that Crimson King face blanching above all the other misfiled sides.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:02pm From: Carmichael

I would keep my King Crimson vinyl in my Kid Creole sleeve.

For the sake of consistency.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:05pm From: junkie

Check out the book This is Your Brain on Music

Thu. 3/27/08 1:07pm From: Eliot Spitzer

Hi Ho! Party Time in Giant Land!

Thu. 3/27/08 1:07pm From: Doug

I invite you all to come.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:09pm From: rr

waiting for my shoutout. enjoying your voice over the speakers...

Thu. 3/27/08 1:10pm From: junkie

Thats one wild and crazy song...

Thu. 3/27/08 1:12pm From: EDM

hey junkie - i did start reading This is your Brain... (thanks to Rich Hazelton for the book) and was quite disappointed. The science is OK but the musical examples are pretty horrid. Heard Sack's talk about Musicophilia, sounds like a better book. Nothing, however, can touch Helmholtz's On The Sensations of Tone!!!

Thu. 3/27/08 1:14pm From: g

there's also a book called Music, the Brain and Ecstasy by Jourdain that's pretty good

Thu. 3/27/08 1:15pm From: junkie

I'll check them out. I enjoyed This is Your Brain. I didn't mind the musical examples but then again I don't like the greatest song to ever be played an noon.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:16pm From: sir haggis

this axlerod piece sounds an awful lot like mahler's 6th symphony...neat.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:17pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Gee, I remember my first mini-moog. Sniff, I kinda miss it now . . .

Thu. 3/27/08 1:20pm From: teddy

this show is great! it's like the continuous mammal on eastvillageradio

Thu. 3/27/08 1:22pm From: rr

Thu. 3/27/08 1:24pm From: DJ Tall Jamal

you're killing it, man. Definitely feeling that Axelrod track.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:24pm From: Rob W

Nice segue Evan - I thought of African music when I heard that insane "Free Pop" track as well. Nice to hear you during normal waking hours (at least in the NJ time zone).

Thu. 3/27/08 1:29pm From: DJ Tall Jamal

This stuff rules - do you have any Bembeya Jazz National?

Thu. 3/27/08 1:29pm From: EDM

thanks rob, DJ Tall Jamal, teddy! glad you are liking the faux failure today....

Thu. 3/27/08 1:38pm From: Cecile

Evan, if it were that easy...

Thu. 3/27/08 1:45pm From: Cecile

Okay, I will have one if it is filled with delicious coffee...

Thu. 3/27/08 1:45pm From: EDM

Yeah doug, i keep IV fluids, an NG tube and a foley cath on here in studio A. good times.

Thu. 3/27/08 1:51pm From: Tristen

Thu. 3/27/08 2:10pm From: Listener James from Westwood

Evan, this is the first time I have heard your show, and I'm digging the hell out of it. I'm looking forward to mining your archived shows. Thanks for doing the daytime fill-in!

Thu. 3/27/08 2:16pm From: Daniel

me too!
great show!
Greetings from the cold Berlin.

Thu. 3/27/08 2:21pm From: Wes

Great show. The dose of organ was spectacular last hour or so. But alas, it's 2:30, time for my office mate to turn up his sitcoms....ahhh...

Thu. 3/27/08 2:34pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Ow!

Thu. 3/27/08 2:35pm From: EDM

music for your pets...

Thu. 3/27/08 2:39pm From: winslow

Dangitall, I am ticked that I missed the Vajra live track. Was it his 2005 DMC routine that starts with the Galt Macdermot track? If you have any other battle sets I would love to hear them at work.
Thanks

Thu. 3/27/08 2:41pm From: EDM

don't fret Winslow...you're listening to it now. This one is just out on PSF...no english no dates. sorry

Thu. 3/27/08 2:49pm From: north guinea hills

i love zukerzeit!

Thu. 3/27/08 2:51pm From: Ike

Thu. 3/27/08 2:53pm From: Lil Buddy

Hot damn, this Cluster is sooooooooooo good.

Thu. 3/27/08 2:54pm From: Parq

Another great show of brainy and melodic (mostly-- "Gravity Time" was a little jarring, but what the hey) music for work. Evan, come back and do a daytime show again soon.

Thu. 3/27/08 2:57pm From: Sean Daily

I agree. More daytime shows, Evan.

Thu. 3/27/08 2:58pm From: EDM

much appreciated everyone. too bad life during the daylight hours is usually less affording than to let me be here in the studio....

Thu. 3/27/08 11:10pm From: mary jane
