  12:19pm

I love Mr. Giant Man.

But Rhys is pretty great, though. Thank you for playing it.
  12:20pm
EDM:

hey cecile- i agree. hearing Giant Man confirms to me that it is 12 Noon EST on Thursday. A vital check point!
  12:21pm
Sean Daily:

But... but... I like the silly giant man song...
  12:21pm
rickyricky:

the cover of that last boris seven inch seems a little "ehhh." but i'm wondering, anyone heard it yet?
  12:22pm
Bad Ronald:

Come Along Come Along!!!
  12:23pm
junkie:

Gian man was cute for the first 3 million times. BTW, i am ?
  12:26pm
Matt:

I love giant man, but that Chatham track was mind blistering.
  12:34pm
dei xhrist:

I'm a little out of touch - was the guitar noodling Parkins? There's a little delay between the playlist and the Foobar info line and I don't recognize any names yet. Oh but I want to.
  12:38pm
PJ:

Hello from Chapel Hill, Evan! Usually I only hear you in the day if I'm hitting up the archives. Rock on, WXYC alum!
  12:40pm
Dale:

Where's Fabio?
  12:40pm

http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/08/365-days-218---.html
  12:52pm
Cecile:

Nice, Parq. I gotta do that.
  12:52pm
junkie:

Great, then you can listen to it all the time...
  12:52pm

This Bellaphon music makes me feel like I should be skiing down the Alps rapidly.
  12:54pm
north guinea hills:

parmegiani, probably my favorite electroacoustic composer....
  12:54pm
dei x:

If I had Giant Man on vinyl, I'd keep it in my Gentle Giant sleeve. Or King Crimson, with that Crimson King face blanching above all the other misfiled sides.
  1:02pm
Carmichael:

I would keep my King Crimson vinyl in my Kid Creole sleeve.

For the sake of consistency.
  1:05pm
junkie:

Check out the book This is Your Brain on Music
  1:07pm
Eliot Spitzer:

Hi Ho! Party Time in Giant Land!
  1:07pm

I invite you all to come.
  1:09pm
rr:

waiting for my shoutout. enjoying your voice over the speakers...
  1:10pm
junkie:

Thats one wild and crazy song...
  1:12pm
EDM:

hey junkie - i did start reading This is your Brain... (thanks to Rich Hazelton for the book) and was quite disappointed. The science is OK but the musical examples are pretty horrid. Heard Sack's talk about Musicophilia, sounds like a better book. Nothing, however, can touch Helmholtz's On The Sensations of Tone!!!
  1:14pm
g:

there's also a book called Music, the Brain and Ecstasy by Jourdain that's pretty good
  1:15pm
junkie:

I'll check them out. I enjoyed This is Your Brain. I didn't mind the musical examples but then again I don't like the greatest song to ever be played an noon.
  1:16pm
sir haggis:

this axlerod piece sounds an awful lot like mahler's 6th symphony...neat.
  1:17pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Gee, I remember my first mini-moog. Sniff, I kinda miss it now . . .
  1:20pm

Nice segue Evan - I thought of African music when I heard that insane "Free Pop" track as well. Nice to hear you during normal waking hours (at least in the NJ time zone).
  1:29pm
DJ Tall Jamal:

This stuff rules - do you have any Bembeya Jazz National?
  1:29pm
EDM:

thanks rob, DJ Tall Jamal, teddy! glad you are liking the faux failure today....
  1:38pm
Cecile:

Evan, if it were that easy...

  2:34pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Ow!
  2:35pm
EDM:

music for your pets...
  2:39pm
winslow:

Dangitall, I am ticked that I missed the Vajra live track. Was it his 2005 DMC routine that starts with the Galt Macdermot track? If you have any other battle sets I would love to hear them at work.
Thanks
  2:41pm
EDM:

don't fret Winslow...you're listening to it now. This one is just out on PSF...no english no dates. sorry

  2:54pm

Another great show of brainy and melodic (mostly-- "Gravity Time" was a little jarring, but what the hey) music for work. Evan, come back and do a daytime show again soon.
  2:57pm
Sean Daily:

I agree. More daytime shows, Evan.
  2:58pm
EDM:
