Is that bass like the instrument or bass like the fish?

Fri. 4/4/08 8:19pm From: pseu

looking at the booklet of this cd package, i'd say either. There's plenty of photos of water bodies. I mean you got your freshwater bass and your sea bass, right?

Fri. 4/4/08 8:20pm From: ogee

I think it is the fermenting ale

Fri. 4/4/08 8:23pm From: john

no vocals, so i'm assuming it's a smallmouth bass

Big Mouth Billy Bass is an Animatronic singing toy, resembling a Largemouth Bass, popular in 2000 and 2001. Made of rubber stretched over a mechanical frame, at first glance it closely resembles a mounted fish. Designed by Gemmy Industries, it turns its head outwards and then wiggles on its trophy plaque and sings kitschy cover songs, such as Don't Worry, Be Happy and Take Me To The River by Al Green. The singing mechanism was originally activated by a motion sensor and was originally intended to startle a passer-by. Eventually a button was added to activate it. There have also been several unsuccessful copycat toys based on it, featuring various animals such as Rainbow Trout, Lobsters, and even fish bones. The concept was also adapted into a large mounted deer head.

Fri. 4/4/08 9:04pm From: pseu

and smelt like a bass?

Fri. 4/4/08 9:26pm From: bartleby

smelt really aren't that much like bass, I mean they are in that they are bony fish, but beyond that not much. Can we talk about reptiles?
For example is the Australian varanid the goanna the technically a lolsquamatid? If so linguistic history is in store for a radical revision. As in "mom won't let me get a pet goanna. She duzn't like reptiles." Well I'll stop there before I become a big pain in the ass.

What kind of fish was Country Joe?

Fri. 4/4/08 9:42pm From: bartleby

I think he was just accompanied by fish but was not a fish himself

Fri. 4/4/08 9:42pm From: hippy dude

country joe was only an accompanyment. to the fish- like rice-a-roni.

Fri. 4/4/08 9:54pm From: bartelby

Speaking of which, I have the Guess Who on the hold music just now

Fri. 4/4/08 9:59pm From: bryan

Odyssey is a pretty strong word. You have to fight krakens and make love to goddesses to elevate a normal journey to an odyssey.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:03pm From: jOE

Krackens are cool

Fri. 4/4/08 10:04pm From: bartelby

The kraken is norse though, whereas the word odyssey is not. We used to have to go to our neighbors house to play atari but we did have an odyssey. The hockey "guys" looked like tiny bulldozers.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:06pm From: jOE

I thought the Kraken was one of the Titans?

Fri. 4/4/08 10:08pm From: Laurie

Digital cable + DVR = happiness

Fri. 4/4/08 10:12pm From: jOE

Awsome song

Fri. 4/4/08 10:13pm From: john

nice face, shame about the bass

Fri. 4/4/08 10:14pm From: p2

where's the frank de vol? i've been waiting all nite :)/

Fri. 4/4/08 10:14pm From: bartleby

Kraken was one of the titans in the movie "Clash of the Titans." Not in actual Greek mythology. In Norse mythology a Kraken was a giant cephalaopod (octopus/squid thing). It may have been inspired by an actual giant cephalopod.
I would though advocate thinking twice before serving these bass(es?)http://jmcarroll-marinebio.blogspot.com/2006/03/vims-pfiesteria-bloom-never-happened.html

Yeah, I knew I didnt read that in bulfinchs. Another Hollywood conspiracy.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:17pm From: ray harryhausen

Christ already, let's get back to the DAGON FISH talk!

Fri. 4/4/08 10:22pm From: bartleby

Actually I think it's the cephalopods themselves that are behind that little imbroglio. They are the next dominant species, that is unless Guitar Hero acquires sentience.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:26pm From: jOE

Guitar Hero is an extention of the air guitar.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:26pm From: sugarwolf

Driving home & listening to you a few minutes ago, I was so worried that the playlist commentary would be about Phish rather than fish.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:27pm From: bartleby

Dagon is cool and all as fish gods go, but I am partial to Blibdoolpoolp myself:

Fri. 4/4/08 10:32pm From: Slow Learner

Enough already, egghead, you're scaring the regular guys off. I'm here to dish bass..
Guitar Hero is an extention of the pocket fisherman.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:34pm From: p2

And boy does it catch fish!

Fri. 4/4/08 10:38pm From: bartleby

Fine, I'll go hang out with my squid friends

Fri. 4/4/08 10:39pm From: Rod N. Reel

Let's not let the fish talk flounder.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:43pm From: Brian in Oregon

I'll take a stand: aint no bass like a wrasse ass bass, living in rocks 'round the GalopagAs.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:49pm From: Brian in Oregon

but far be it from me to assert or imply there are not other valid, or at least arguable, perspectives.

Fri. 4/4/08 10:55pm From: jOE

pocket fisherman was by popeel

Fri. 4/4/08 10:59pm From: Brian in Oregon

That pocket fisherman looks pretty cool.

Fri. 4/4/08 11:07pm From: nudge nudge
