8:19pm

 8:20pm
dave:

well, there goes my plan for a grant proposal...
 8:20pm
HotRod:

Thanks for the info, Paul. I also heard hints of Borderline in the CFCF remix.
 8:22pm
HotRod:

Trent, you are such a whore for the girlie vocals!
 8:26pm
a lady:

trent loves girls?
 8:26pm
paul:

no prob... i've actually known mike (cfcf) and johan agebjorn for yeeaaarrsss... glad to see them getting some recognition now
 8:26pm
john:

that violens record was like a trip back into a 60s-inflected 1986. Anyone who can channel Hurrah has my hard-unearned record-buying dollar.

 8:40pm
marble itzky:

tardis
 8:43pm
Scott - London UK:

Awesome noise. Now I want to listen to Shit & Shine - that's a live experience to be reckoned with.
 8:43pm
Nick:

Everything you've played so far is mind-bendingly catchy!! (odd, eh?) keep it up!! Aah more french music! theme?
 8:45pm
trent:

paul - you know johan did a DJ set on this very show a few months ago, right? NICK: thanks!! not a theme but a way of life. and this is Finnish or some other bullshit. not french. but who can tell anyway. itzky - can you bring that over here? I left my sense of humor 3 hours in the future. ROB*STER
 8:46pm
Guest:

Whoa, this is interesting. Eleanoora Rosenholm? What's the story?
 8:52pm
HotRod:

Stan's so awesome...for many many reasons.

All of a sudden I feel like I'm in a classic '80s movie bicycle chase scene.
 8:54pm
HotRod:

...until I heard the dude sing in Hebrew. Did you get this during your trip? How about some David Broza!?!
 8:56pm
trent:

how the fuck can you tell this is hebrew?!?!!?? it's my goddamn birthright and i can't even tell what he's singing. and WTF is david broza? are you some kind of musical scholar?!?!?
 8:58pm
toni daytona:

trent & hotrod i hope your holiday weekend WAS sound & safe. hugz kisses OXOXOXO
 8:59pm
C:

Still feeling like you're competing against Nachum, Trent?
 9:01pm
trent:

haaay toni you too mine was great hope you saw fome FWORKS. C - of course, except for the fact that there's no competing with nachum. it's done. it's over.
 9:03pm
toni d.:

i love you trent
 9:03pm
john:

I love this vivian girls song too. Like an indie mamas and papas.
 9:05pm
marble itzky:

I thought they sounded like the b 52zz
 9:07pm
Scott - London UK:

This playlist is incredible. It's 2am here and I really don't want to go to bed.
Will this be on a podcast anywhere?
 9:07pm
trent:

john, marble, those are very astute observations, let me try to make you into robots to talk on the air
 9:07pm
HotRod:

Well, it certainly sounded like Hebrew...but I could be wrong. During my freshman year in college, I dormed and became great friends with Moran Broza...David Broza's daughter. Check it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Broza

This family threw some of the best parties. Fo' realz! Good GOOD people. Much love to the Brozas!!!
 9:08pm
nycu2:

RE: Vivian Girls - Can anyone say "B-52's" "52 Girls"? Go to YouTube and search "52 Girls • The B-52's" (It's from 1978!) Call it an homage, I guess.
 9:11pm
marble itzky:

James Paaaaanntz!! yay.
 9:20pm
HotRod:

Is this Scarlett and TV on the Radio dudes? I can't get into this record. You like?
 9:20pm
john:

super cool. I figured if I couldn't do it by comparing violens to hurrah it just wasn't going to happen
 9:29pm
?:

ha ive been meaning to put my worst band names somewhere. "The Gay Blades", and "...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead", are probably worse than "Does it offend..." and uhh "Women" is a really hard band to google
 9:32pm
marble itzky:

I dont like James Pants music as much as I like to say the name on the radio
like 'Nuclear power Pants'-- could care a fig about the music, but the name?? Hey! it beez that way sometimes. silly simple pleasures for a simple mind-- try it, you may find you have to agree with meeeee
 9:34pm
Scott - London UK:

Worst band to Google - "Au"
 9:37pm
Nick:

Freakin cool kids! This is the first song i recognize! The Bake Sale is awesome. I sense more hip-hop coming!
 9:43pm
Ike:

Scott from UK: No, the worst band name to Google is "Download". (It's Skinny Puppy-related.)

Marble, I didn't hear TARDIS noises. Have you been watching the new series? This year it's mostly a silly mess. It was so great for a while in '05-'07! Finale -- so geekily disappointing.

Is that Mu-Ziq in there somewhere?!?
 9:44pm
trent:

IKE YOU ARE THE FUCKING MAN! ABSOLUTE WINNER
 9:45pm
paul:

i was about to comment on the mike p track in there...
i think any one letter or number band name is the worst to google.
 9:47pm
paul:

any info about skinny puppy is not hard to find on the web... that's why litany exists... hehe
 9:48pm
marble itzky:

hey I used to play this! mu-ziq. someone swiped the cd from me years ago..

and, Scott UK-- nope, havent seen the who show in forever... it was more of a feeling thing than a fact thing.
 9:50pm
Scott - London UK:

I'm not the Dr Who fan!
mind you, i do love a bit of Roy Castle. Dedication's what you need, if you want to be a record breaker!
 9:50pm
HotRod:

Hey Ike, now that you mentioned a new series...check out THIS new Chinese TV series: http://english.cri.cn/3086/2008/01/08/1461@311781.htm

Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vfPcPqpLbk
 9:53pm
paul:

bong-ra posted a track on his myspace called "pee yourself aaron" but he took it down
 9:59pm
trent:

you people are really making me feel like i'm among friends! this is great. what's your favorite aphex song. no what's your favorite aphex REMIX
 10:03pm
jhn:

The best Aphex remix is of Nav Katze.
 10:05pm
paul:

my fav is the MBM one
 10:07pm
marble itzky:

Alarm Will Sound

Plays Aphex Twin on acoustic instros!
 10:09pm
Ike:

My fave Aphex remix is of Curve's "Falling Free" although it bears very little resemblance to the original, of course. Plus if you have the vinyl, it can be played at 33 *or* at 45 rpm.
 10:13pm
Peter:

Sitars! Finally!
 10:13pm
HotRod:

Bucephalus Bouncing Ball will ALWAYS be one of my favorite Aphex tracks ever.
 10:22pm
HotRod:

This sounds a bit different than the original track on the EP. Looks like Sam's starting to surface in a big way. Great track.
 10:31pm
HotRod:

You need a pic of him in a BOSTON jersey!

Like this one: http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2008/0505/pg2_a_garnett_300.jpg
 10:31pm
dave:

right now, somewhere in the aether, donna summer is nodding approvingly.
 10:34pm
paul:

donna as in jason? last time i saw him he said he's coming to the area sometime later this year, he might do trouble & bass or something
 10:35pm
dave:

oh lordy. i'm already clearing my calendar, then.
 10:37pm
paul:

suburban base seeeeeen!!!!!!
 10:38pm
marble itzky:

I was really seeing the little ball bouncing over there, but now it is gone
 10:40pm
Ike:

Belatedly: Does It Offend You, Yeah? is not close to the worst band name ever. The Onion A.V. Club rounded up a TON of them a few months ago. My faves include Count Dracula's Weed Smuggling Jam Engine, Tim Fantastic and the Styrofoam Meat Trays, Steaming Wolf Penis, Garrison Killer, Fuckwolf, Slut Barf, My! Gay! Husband!, Jewsus, Boneless Children Foundation, Those Fucking Unicorns, I Hate You When You're Pregnant, Vagina Sore Jr. and so many more. Actually I guess these are so bad they're brilliant, but whatever.
 10:43pm
HotRod:

OOH! JF at Trouble & Bass would be super dope. I've really been enjoying Drop The Lime's recent work.
 10:52pm
HotRod:

The funny thing about this Erected Girl track is that I actually intended to play the track Bananas during the SY broadcast. Still good tho.
 10:54pm
miss buxley:

trent & hotrod last reminder,,my 27th b-day is this weekend=)=)=)
 10:59pm
marble itzky:

bye bye and go to the beach??
 10:59pm
trent:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 10:59pm
sirpomeroy:

trent's likes free kittens and free dishwashers. thanks for the eerie Scarlett shot. Is she at her therapist's?
 11:01pm
HotRod:

I can hear myself collecting all those rings and then losing them all right before I get to the end. Sweet night, Trent.
 11:38pm
Rebecca the Archivist:

Coming in late to say I love Doctor Who, even the everything-and-everyone-but-the-kitchen-sink season finale . I thought it was fantastic! (And I love Trent's show too!)
