Artist Track Album Label Comments Special

Set 1: the old radio show portion of the evening. (Listen to this set: Real)
The Haunting Hour  The Old Old Man   Originally broadcast sometime from 1944 - 1946 - probably 1945.  (no label)  We don't know what year it was originally aired, the exact date of the show, or even who was in any of the episodes -- no records were ever kept.

This episode: 9 old men make a pact: whoever is last to stay alive gets all their money. Who's the last man standing? Tune in and find out.

"Joe...he's not asleep...he's dead!!!"

Mic break between Sets 1 & 2. Background music played during it: (Listen to this set: Real)
Les Chakachas  Love is like a Violin (track 4)   Arriba!  RCA International  Phat, sentimental sound. Feels like it's the slow song at the record hop.

Set 2: heavy stuff. (Listen to this set: Real)
Farflung  Invincible (track 7) (Listen: Real)   A Wound In Eternity  Meteor City  Easy, punchy, heavy, with a calmer end. A great mix of psych rock and hardcore.
Ministry And Co-Conspirators  Black Betty (track 5) (Listen: Real)   Cover Up  13th Planet  Mostly instrumental, hardcore. Ledbelly never dreamed his music would be like this!
Hey Colossus  Overlord Rapture In Vines Part 9 (track 8) (Listen: Real)   Happy Birthday  Riot Season  Blend of psych & doom-rock, best on this CD. A sustained, full-court press.
Boris  Statement (track 4) (Listen: Real)   Smile  Southern Lord  Heavy & sustained. Full speed ahead!

Mic break between Sets 2 & 3. Background music played during it: (Listen to this set: Real)

Set 3: dark, rumbly, reverbed, and then quieter. (Listen to this set: Real)
Machinefabriek  Borghesia Remix (track 1) (Listen: Real)   Bijeen: Gathered Eccentrics 2005 - 2007  Kning Disk  Beautiful, quiet, deeply resonant, dark but golden edge, gets gradually louder. Note: it starts verrrry quiet.
Gas  Sechs (track 6) (Listen: Real)   Nah Und Fern: Konigsforst  Kompakt  Gently surging, solid, and a bit deep. Konigsforst is CD #3 of the 4 CD set.
Fatagaga  Kelp (track 1) (Listen: Real)   Laudanum  Sol  Steady, deep and glowing, like a softer Sunn O))).
Nadja  Sandskin (track 5) (Listen: Real)   bodycage  Profound Lore  I think the title is "Sandskin" - only the first 3 tracks of the 5 on this CD are listed. This piece: becomes darkly golden & slowly rhythmic, peaceful, even beautiful, quiets & slows down last 2 minutes.
Ariel Kalma  Reternelle (track 5: faded out by -5:06) (Listen: Real)   Le Temps des Moissons  Beta-Lactam Ring  Best on this CD, reverbed sax, floating feeling, could <--> Urban Sax. Le Temps des Moissons translates as Harvest Time.
Troum  When You Scream (track 10) (Listen: Real)   Aidan Baker: Remixes  Arcolepsy  The set quiets down...dark & soft, often gentle, soft & reverbed.
Re:  Straint (track 5) (Listen: Real)   Mnant  Constellation  Soft & warm, deeper & soft electronic tones in mix, also guitar, a ballad, quiet end.

Set 4: the psych rock portion of the evening. (Listen to this set: Real)
Earth  Omens and Portents 1: The Driver (track 1) (Listen: Real)   The Bee Made Honey In The Lion's Skull  Southern Lord  Slow & laconic drugged-out psych rock, full-sounding & resonant, and there's that western guitar feel.
F/i  Starspot (track 4) (Listen: Real)   Helioscopium  Ceres  Low key psych rock.
Bardo Pond  Adhesive (track 1) (Listen: Real)   Bufo alvarius, amen 29:15  Drunken Fish  Rough-edged & lush at same time, druggy. From their first album. Most of it isn't very good at all, but there are 2 really good tracks. This is the short one.
Farflung  1x (track 5) (Listen: Real)   A Wound In Eternity  Meteor City  Acidy psych rock, solid all the way through.
Black Angels  Deer-Ree-Shee (track 6: faded out by -1:05) (Listen: Real)   Directions To See A Ghost  Light In The Attic  Superb psych rock.
Pink Fairies  Walk Don't Run (track 5) (Listen: Real)   Finland Freakout 1971  MLP  It starts at a trot, slows to a walk, and winds up running. And it's just a little bit demented.  ***
