Listener comments!

  9:01am JJZ:

Good day.
  9:03am Ken:

Morning~!
  9:03am Mark:

I think McCain picked her only because he wants to get busy with her
  9:03am dei xhrist:

Ken's back! Have you brought recipes for that foot that washed up in the Sea Donkey?
  9:04am C:

Welcome back, Ken. Loved the boat show!
  9:06am Ken:

I liked that foot so much, I sewed it on! If you can x
  9:07am Lizardner Dave:

Actually, I think Sea Donkey should be the new name for SSD. Has a nice ring, doesn't it? "Sea Donkey with Ken and Andy".

Almost as good as "Happiness Hut".
  9:08am GP:

Ken..glad to have you back on terra firma. Morning all. Is it just me or does Miss Wasilla sound like Julia Sweeney ( "PAT" )f ormerly of Saturday Night Live?
  9:12am GP:

I hear there is a nice photo of her in go-go boots a la Nancy Sinatra.
  9:13am gumby:

I feel various disfigurements of this picture are coming soon.
  9:16am PodSean:

....Digging this song.
  9:17am JJZ:

http://tinyurl.com/5ueat6 is one that's been popular on Yahoo's Most Emailed Photo page.
  9:17am stu:

Hi Ken -
hope you play at least one Jerry Reid song, even if it's at the wrong speed. Thanks.
  9:18am sarah:

Sarah Palin may be broke but she's not flat busted
http://perezhilton.com/2008-09-02-this-photo-is-real
  9:20am Bad Ronald:

Photoshopped but fun:

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/2008/09/custom_1220381941522_palin.jpg
  9:20am MeYOW:

I'll let the headlines speak for themselves; on Yahoo this morning, "Palins Pork requests" ; Gentlemen, the line forms on the right.
  9:21am annie:

what was the publication?
  9:24am gumby:

Hubba-hubba. A leather mini skirt in Alaska? She is one tough tiger! GRRRR!
  9:26am annie:

can you say: photoshop?
  9:27am Bad Ronald:

"Hubba-Hubba" - Sounds more like Bugs Bunny than Gumby...
  9:29am Laurie:

Kenny, please post that picture of Palin in her office with the monster crab and bear pelt.

Thank you.
  9:30am gumby:

photoship, photoslip, photosynthesis....
No I guess not.
  9:30am Laurie:

Here you go: http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/08/29/us/30palin3.large.jpg

NO PHOTOSHOP HERE. Seriously. :(

That's her actual office.
  9:31am annie:

...... might be her office, but the photo is faked; it has to be... why would she dress like that?
  9:32am mp:

tina fey would have been a better choice.
  9:33am Ken:

Quite a pic Laurie! Can someone edit it down to 270 pixels wide? Can anybody find the photo of Sarah Palin at Appomatox?
  9:33am owen:

what's so strange? surely no-one can complete administative work without a bear?
  9:35am Laurie:

I'm more freaked out by the monster crab. Please note that this picture ran in the New York Times. MY GOD.
  9:39am gigantor:

270-pixel Palin with bear on the way!
  9:40am jodie:

Yep, guess that's why they call it Alaskan KING Crab...
  9:40am Bad Ronald:

She does kinda look like joyce dewitt.
  9:41am Laurie:

Here's a picture of Palin I barely photoshopped: http://i36.tinypic.com/o1kwo.jpg

Her button includes a crass acronym now!
  9:41am owen:

well, speak for yourself laurie. i personally just dont feel comfortable in a room without a freakish monster crab.
  9:41am dei x:

oh, you only wanted US history... jingoist!
  9:42am Laurie:

270 wide pic of her craaaaazy office: http://i36.tinypic.com/1jotbk.jpg
  9:42am dei x:

of course I'm only getting the Miss Wasilla = Palin now...
  9:44am Ghengis Jung:

Interesting that Ms. Palin is the only one smiling at LBJ's swearing in...
  9:45am Bad Ronald:

She shot Kennedy.
  9:46am Laurie:

Hot: http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/f/f3/Palin_M4.jpg
  9:47am Ken:

270 pixels wide everybody! You're gonna crash the playlist!
  9:48am Nick the Bard:

After seeing what a coconut crab can become, that crab in her office is pretty underwhelming.
  9:48am pseu:

Laurie -- now I SEE it says flat BUSTED not flat CHESTED! makes sense...
  9:50am Laurie:

Oooooooh you're right, Pseu. I feel silly.

PS: This is funny but true. Sad. Also, not 270 pixels wide.

  9:51am C:

Hilarious goof:
http://www.tmz.com/2008/09/02/barack-makes-his-tory-with-his-two-dads/
  9:51am GP:

Ken, Talk Nerdy to me!
Everyone else go here:
http://tiny.cc/
to convert those LOOONG
URL"s into smalller ones.
  9:59am T T T T:

..collect $10
  10:00am GP:

That Community Chest picture looks like Peggy Hill from "King of the Hill"
  10:00am pseu:

I still think she looks like Lara Jill Miller from the Nell Carter smash "Gimme A Break": http://www.younghollywoodhof.com/drina/lara.jpg
  10:04am Ken From Hyde Park:

I'm back from vacation in N. Dakota. They have radio there but no stations like WFMU. I heard a lot of the same songs that they were playing back in the 80s.
  10:05am Laurie:

If you guys have some time to kill, the Sarah Palin entry on the Encyclopedia Dramatica is worth checking out. SOOOOOOO NSFW.
  10:06am Mark:

or perhaps she lools like Marcy from Married With Children
http://www.triviatribute.com/images4/amandabearse4.jpg
  10:06am GP:

Whoever sent that Peggy Hill / Sarah Palin separated at birth photo...too funny. Thanks for that
  10:09am Laurie:

Ken, were you just using Tom Scharpling's voice modulator?
  10:11am gumby:

The really frightening thing about the Peggy Hill similarity is that I bet a whole lotta people would vote for Peggy Hill for VP or Prez.
  10:13am Mark:

Peggy Hill is more qualified
  10:15am gumby:

I wouldn't vote for Peggy Hill, she's not my kind. No claymation.
  10:16am elvie:

how about phyllis schlafly for VP?
  10:17am Mark:

Yeah I'd vote for Davy or Goliath too
  10:22am gumby:

I beleive neither Davy or Goliath meet the 35 years of age requirement.
  10:23am gumby:

Not to mention there overdeveloped sense of conscience. Washington would devour them.
  10:23am no no age:

Damn, Ken, go easy on us
  10:24am maria:

this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy outside
  10:25am GP:

Lighters held aloft....swaying arm-in-arm...tears
  10:25am Lizardner Dave:

Say what you will about the GOP VP nominee, but this is the hottest playlist Ken's ever had.

I wonder what Raad Man, wherever he is, thinks about Sarah Palin?
  10:26am stingy d:

OH MY! Madame Vice President! She has such nice legs! i vote for the best tuchus!
  10:27am Mark:

I don't know I think this is a current picture of Davey
http://www.moorespower.com/images/dng.jpg
  10:27am Harvey:

I'm fairly sure I'm going to be a changed man after this show
  10:28am tim:

I think we all just came home, a little bit, in here (pointing to heart).

  10:43am gumby:

A new FMU program - Kenny G & The VP read sports.
  10:45am stingy dQ:

hey kenny does this song have any roots in Komeda??
  10:46am Laurie:

Too crass?

http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/thumb/4/4a/Drillheredrillnow.jpg/180px-Drillheredrillnow.jpg
  10:48am Lizardner Dave:

I'm betting Irwin will have a strong rebuttal to this show.

Heh heh, I said "butt".
  10:48am Laurie:

Check out her jumpshot!!

  10:50am Mark:

http://www.agoravox.fr/IMG/Sarah-Palin-Vogue.jpg
  10:50am gumby:

Hmmm..Talking Head, Outdoorsie poser, trophy bagger with no foreign policy experience. She may be too qualified to be this parties candidate.
  10:52am wrysmilie:

Is that a young Chuck Norris she's with? The fans on the wall are classic.

  10:56am stu:

stop the politics and let's talk music
http://gpassociation.free.fr/auditorium/reed/JerryReedCountryLegends.htm
  10:58am anne:

i first heard of the great kat when she appeared on the Joan Rivers Show. Joan Rivers was doing a week of music on her show, she had GWAR appear too. it was a dream for me as a high schooler to see GWAR on Joan Rivers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWRKlNlRsgI

anyhow, i bought a great kat tape subsequently, which had her phone # in it! so i called the # and the great kat answered! she got angry and accused me of being on drugs right off the bat. then why did she include her phone number in the cassette liner notes? that was my brief brush with the great kat. she's a juilliard graduate apparently.
  11:01am dc:

GWAR on Joan Rivers! Yoiks.

And thanks.
  11:06am GP:

GWAR "ON " Joan Rivers..Yoiks indeed

GWAR appearing on the Joan Rivers show...priceless : )
  11:06am Karen in Sleepy Hollow:

Hey Ken, When will the gold vinyl and SSD DVD be ready?
  11:10am Mark:

Ken is this a prediction of a coming Muskie moment for Sarah Palin?
  11:16am Ken:

Karen - DVD is mastered, the Gold record is still being worked on.
  11:18am Ken From Hyde Park:

http://jalopnik.com/5044089/sarah-palin-brings-youth-feathered-hair-and-mustang-grande-to-the-mccain-ticket
  11:24am JJZ:

Hm... Andy Cohen and Frangry are the same as (The) Night People? I've been slowly listening to the archives of those, and they talked about covering for Seven Second Delay, but I didn't quite get around to listening to the fill-in because it wasn't part of my spoon-fed ipod podcast setup.
  11:30am GP:

For some reason that old Disco Duck song is stuck in my mind..weird, as I have not heard that tune in years
  11:31am Gigantor:

Or perhaps an Eagleton moment?
  11:31am Parq:

GP, one possible reason - Gaylord opened his show the other night with a Rick Dees aircheck from back in the day. Just a guess.
  11:33am Listener from Finland:

Hello Ken!!

When'll 7sd be back?
  11:33am GP:

Parq...I think you got it...subliminally tuned into that vibe
  11:34am Mark:

I thought Other Music didn't open until nnon
  11:34am Mark:

or noon
  11:35am Richard:

There were only 8 people at opening time for the Wire tix so go for it...
Thanks FMU!
  11:37am Sean Daily:

Re: Flag bikini on Palin - Snopes.com called bullshit on that.
  11:37am gumby:

Hey Ken, does your face hurt?
  11:38am Karen in Sleepy Hollow:

Oh my god, no coffee at FMU!
  11:39am gumby:

It's killin' me!!!!!!:):):)
  11:39am Richard:

Ken, can you remind me of where the grant for the free shows came from? Yes The Ex show was fantastic!!
  11:41am dei x:

Let the healing luv of our playlist comments bring you back to par! And a tube of aloe with tea tree oil.
  11:41am tim:

Yaphet KOTTO (rhymes with PHOTO). A cushion between the knees (your knees) while sleeping can help relieve the dull, lingering pain of sciatica. Something to do w taking pressure off the lower vertebrae. Sorry about your face.
  11:45am Ken:

I knew I was pronouncing Kotto wrong.. who the hell was he again? Richard - the grant was from Elliot Spitzer, Client #9!
  11:50am stingy d:

dear ken,

are those strangelets, these strangelets... ( http://www.myspace.com/timmgouin )????
thank you for playing riot on planet 10.

sincerely,
anthony mason
  11:52am Ike:

JJZ, unless I am very confused, those are different people. I heard a bit of AC & Frangry and I laughed.
  11:53am Dei x:

A few years ago, I bought an electric muscle stimulator from a Taiwan or Hong Kong manufacturer. While it does not replace a skilled back rub, the electrical pulses on this model are supposed to simulate acupuncture, cupping, and rolfing. Kinda does the job, on the job. And you don't have to buy it dinner.
  11:53am gumby:

put your knee out if front of you while seated, bend the leg underneath. Cross the other leg over the knee and stretch your lower back towards your knee. That's good for the psiatic nerve. Sorry about the face crack (but it is one of my favorite jokes)
  11:54am Lizardner Dave:

Yaphet Kotto was the police chief on the very underrated Homicde: Life on the Street. He was also a bad guy in the Bond flick with Roger Moore that had voodoo in it, I think.
  11:55am elvie:

yeah, and he was part italian on that show.
  11:57am Ike:

The first 3-4 years of Homicide were brilliant. And that Bond flick is hilariously stupid because all the black people in Harlem are conspiring against James Bond. "Honkie at five o'clock!"
  11:58am Denise in Washington, DC:

I cannot adequately convey how much joy your Palin pix have brought me.
  11:58am jan:

Ah, the teletubbies- always great to hear
  12:00pm Sean Daily:

The Teletubbies are the O-negative (the type O-negative, if you will) of remixes!
  12:01pm paul:

the best show doesn't have an Andy!
  12:04pm JJZ:

Ah, my confusion stems from them noting they did a fill-in for SSD, but then the only one in recent history I saw was for Andy Cohen and Frangry.
