Wed. 2/4/09 3:11pm From: Lizardner Dave

Hey everyone, time to get our own thing that has only a tangential relationship to the show going? So, who wants punch and pie?

Wed. 2/4/09 3:12pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Depends on what's in the punch.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:13pm From: Parq

Knock knock

Wed. 2/4/09 3:14pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Parq, switching to a higher octane can stop that knocking.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:16pm From: Lizardner Dave

Or you can buy a fuel injector cleaner....at Wal Mart! Easter time, Easter time....

Wed. 2/4/09 3:16pm From: still b/p

Woo hoo's there?

Wed. 2/4/09 3:16pm From: Parq

Actually, it was a badly expressed Curly Howard impression. I just now remembered that most people spell it "Nyuk Nyuk".

Wed. 2/4/09 3:18pm From: Lizardner Dave

Think the response here is aaaahng aaahng aaaahngg...is that spelled right?

Wed. 2/4/09 3:21pm From: cribley

This is great. More Jimmy Mitchell!

Wed. 2/4/09 3:21pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Sounds like Heywood Banks singing 'Mack the Knife' there.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:26pm From: cribley

Disregard that request for J Mitchell.. I filled up in the blog.

Irwin, I would like to congratulate you on being the pre-eminent Mad Daddies fan of WFMU. I believe you may have qualified for a recognition dinner.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:28pm From: benny

Wed. 2/4/09 3:34pm From: AnAnonymousParty

What the hell's so funny about Utah?

Wed. 2/4/09 3:36pm From: jan

cows! wow, I just received my new wfmu COW/DOG t shirt. what syncronicity!

Wed. 2/4/09 3:40pm From: Fussy

I'm fairly sure there's an 'h' in synchronicity, Jan. Hope that's helpful.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:40pm From: AnAnonymousParty

I remember as a little kid going trick-or-treating and seeing all the dead cows hung on nails on the sides of houses. Folks would decorate them for Christmas.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:41pm From: jan

yahh, it looked funny to me, after I typed it out, but there is no spell check on this message board. Thanks for the fussy attention.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:42pm From: Bad Ronald

They crucify cows in Utah?

Wed. 2/4/09 3:44pm From: Cecile

I am appealing to the AccuPrayList to answer my plea for some Snakefinger.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:44pm From: AnAnonymousParty

You gotta remember it's Utah and not Hoboken where they got radio and Theater and all that fancy big city crap, not much else to do but revolve you life around coes.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:45pm From: Parq

Call my agent. I'm changing the name of the movie to "They Crucify Cows in Utah".

Wed. 2/4/09 3:50pm From: Cecile

they have the Jazz and the Sundance Festival...

Wed. 2/4/09 3:51pm From: BSI

Thanks for the SF SORROW -- that's one of the ten best albums of all time, says me.

Wed. 2/4/09 3:52pm From: Cecile

Wed. 2/4/09 3:55pm From: Sean Daily

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!

Wed. 2/4/09 3:56pm From: AnAnonymousParty

No Sundance before refrigeration, no way to keep the wine cool. Wasn't until they started putting the dead cows inside the home that culture came a knockin'.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:01pm From: Irwin

R U N C I B L E

Wed. 2/4/09 4:01pm From: Jack

I thought a runcible spoon was like a combination of a spoon and a fork -- ie a spoon with tines at the end.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:02pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

SPORK

Wed. 2/4/09 4:04pm From: north guinea hills

squareface? am i back in '96?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:04pm From: dan in falls church VA

well, spork my runcible!

Wed. 2/4/09 4:07pm From: dan in falls church VA

hey, maybe it was a typo, and Lear meant to say "rinsable".
That makes sense, right, "rinsable spoon"? i mean, you wouldn't want an *unrinsable* spoon! hey, what does "S.F." in "S.F. Sorrow" stand for, anyway?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:08pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

Sebastian F Sorrow

Wed. 2/4/09 4:13pm From: annie

pardon me if this has been repeated... i'm not awake..http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/runcible

Wed. 2/4/09 4:14pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

I still say SPORK

Wed. 2/4/09 4:16pm From: annie

it's what i thought of when i saw that definition... runcible sounds eccentric.. i prefer that but try using it at wendy's!

Wed. 2/4/09 4:19pm From: BSI

I prefer to eat my Sea Kittens with a runcible spoon.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=99249669

Wed. 2/4/09 4:19pm From: Parq

I agree with DCE; the dictionary definition of "runcible spoon" (qv) inevitably calls to mind what we now call a spork , BUT - a spork is usually plastic and used with fast food, whereas the original piece of silverware had a specific function -- "for serving hors d'oeuvres."

Wed. 2/4/09 4:21pm From: AnAnonynousParty

How about gimme a runcible shizzle fo-zizzle?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:21pm From: Jimmy Safechuck

Jimmy Mitchell is genuinely, post-ironically, great.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:28pm From: jan

Jimmy Mitchell, I thought you wanted to play more Joni Mitchell.
Request for parking lot!

Wed. 2/4/09 4:31pm From: Sean Daily

Aw, BSI, do not eat sea kittens. They're cute and they're furry and they're warm and they purr and they yowl for their food and they can't decide which side of the door they want to be on and they throw up any old place that they want and they shred your furniture and...

On second thought, go ahead. Eat your sea kittens.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:34pm From: Parq

LOLseacats - I can haz planktin?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:38pm From: Sean Daily

Wed. 2/4/09 4:51pm From: Cecile

Wed. 2/4/09 4:52pm From: Sean Daily

Or maybe Satanicus Dominus' "A Child's First Festivus".

Wed. 2/4/09 4:53pm From: Jimmy Safechuck

Yes, Ron Asheton. "Loose," anyone?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:54pm From: Sean Daily

Nah. I want to hear Hawkwind's "Where Eagles Dare... and Get Shot Down by Beer-Bellied Hunters".

Wed. 2/4/09 4:54pm From: Cecile

aw, naw. Lux! that's sad.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:56pm From: DJ Keili

Beastin' The Airwaves! will definitely be playing The Cramps this weekend!

Wed. 2/4/09 4:56pm From: Parq

NME says it's Brian Gregory, not Lux.

http://www.nme.com/news/cramps/5995

Wed. 2/4/09 4:57pm From: Sean Daily

Irwin, if you have it, could you play Cannibal Corpse's cover of "The Sound of Music"?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:57pm From: Parq

Lo siento, that's "Bryan".

Wed. 2/4/09 4:58pm From: slugluv1313

Brian Gregory passed away some years ago, cannot seem to find any news about Lux though -- ????

Wed. 2/4/09 4:58pm From: Cecile

oh, Bryan Gregory. He was on a couple of good ones.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:59pm From: Jimmy Safechuck

Not Bryan Gregory. Check the article date - that was 2001.

Wed. 2/4/09 4:59pm From: Cecile

OK who is dead from the Cramps?

Wed. 2/4/09 4:59pm From: Keili

And it's OK if you don't enjoy The Cramps Irwin.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:00pm From: Irwin

I think Lux faked his death to get airplay.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:01pm From: Sean Daily

Yes, it's Songsmith: The Cheap Casio Keyboard for a New Millennium.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:02pm From: AnANonymousParty

Hey, that's not Pat Boone!

Wed. 2/4/09 5:03pm From: Parq

Is Songsmith like Mac's Garage Band?

Wed. 2/4/09 5:07pm From: Bad Ronald

songsmith - http://tinyurl.com/7dqslh

Wed. 2/4/09 5:08pm From: Sean Daily

That's okay, Irwin. Give in to the voices, the hideous hideous voices for a while. We understand.

Or, at least, I UNDERSTAND.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:10pm From: Robert1014

I can't find anything on the web to corroborate that Lux Interior has died. In fact, his MySpace page shows last logged in "Feb. 04, 2009," which is, uh, TODAY.

I've seen the Cramps live six times and they've always been awesome...a wonderful act. I hope reports of Lux's death are in error.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:12pm From: Cecile

ok, this is the first time I've heard "Chocolate Rain".

I'm disappointed. I thought it would be a lot weirder.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:13pm From: Parq

There must be some computer-enabled way to have the Chocsmith Rain guy duet with the guy who sings "Montreal Canada Blues".

Wed. 2/4/09 5:13pm From: Laura L

THANK YOU! Verklemmt!

Wed. 2/4/09 5:15pm From: Sean Daily

I thought I was dead yesterday. I got handed a piece of paper which I thought was a death certificate. Turned out it was just my W-2. I gotta get new glasses.

Wed. 2/4/09 5:16pm From: Lux Inferior

Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated!
