	2:29am Chris (again!): How do you go about putting together a playlist for the show? It's all over the map but I can feel a theme (or maybe that's the sugar crash happening now).

	4:56am postmanpaul: bill, a sunny good morning from uk. maybe we have a different perspective on the bg's here, but no one ever dug them way back then; can't remember anyone having any bg stuff in their album collections from '70 onwards. the two pieces you played sounded kinda formative years, looking for a direction... well, it takes all types! was living in cairo fom 2000 for 3yrs and we would often visit public places like the zoo (an antiquity itself!) and catch nubian/sudanese amazing musicians playing for the poorer people there (young people still do their courting in the old fashioned way there). at the zoo they play in the shade of an enormous tree with roots hanging down from the top and their women would dance quite erotic, raw layed-back 'bellydances.' ah, fond memories. and i'm loovin' your show, first time for me, normally at work.
	5:01am Zach in Philly: Just woke up. Darn, I missed the Bee Gees. I'll never forget the tribute en mass from WFMU when Maurice died in 2003. I'd just started listening to WFMU and thought, "seriously, the Bee Gees?" But, yes, they were a force to be reckoned with.

	5:20am Zach in Philly: Yeah, so sad about Silk City. I still tune into WKDU, esp. while stuck on 76:-P A good buddy of mine, Mike Eidle was a DJ at kdu for a spell - ring any bells?
	5:24am Bill Mac: Yeah I think I do.... early/mid 90s thereabouts? I was there forever. I held down Saturday mornings from 91 til about 2004. Then they decided to put me on Tuesday evenings... I was already filling in here so..... part of my weekly routine was to do my show get off at noon then get my Coney Island Style hot dogs at Silk. Last time i was there it was all upscale.
	5:30am Zach in Philly: Cool, I'll ask Mike if he remembers you. I'm sure he must. We moved to Philly in ' 96 but I didn't "get off" the xpn thorazine till '03 - ugh. Saw Cantrell at the Tin Angel and have been a woof-ah-mooer since! Man, that "Improvisations on a Modal Scale" was great! It really revved me up for the work I got up so early to do.
	5:35am Bill Mac: As long as I've been here I've never met the woman. Gives you an idea just how many folks are here.... If Mike needs a clue, tell him I was the old guy. I didn't even start DJing til I was 33. Of course, when I got in there they could shake me! Obviously this is the hot poop here... anything and everything... speaking of which, Clark Hutchinson is it!
	5:37am postmanpaul: ZinP - i really miss the call to prayer! i was in maadi towards the end of it, did you ever get over to 'basata' over on the gulf of akhbar/sinai ? considering that most arabic countrys have military gvmnts, egypt is pretty cool. used to get over to the souks particularly to buy poor quality street arabic tapes! the best was coming from germany (dj pedro/digital bled) and sony were just starting to take an interest in recordings and sales. as bill mentioned, there are now some very interesting labels getting involved.

	5:46am Zach in Philly: Ha ha, you're cracking me up! Age is a good thing... at 39, I'm still looking forward to growing up to be like my grandfathers. While volunterring at fmu one day, Ms. Cantrell took time to yak up her husband's background in HI and one of here fave internet sites. I was floored just to be in the same room:-) The Lollipop Shoppe are very interesting. Going to have to head to aka music on 2nd St to pick up a copy of that album!
