Tue. 4/7/09 9:19am From: gumby

Tue. 4/7/09 9:20am From: Parq

The FMA looks like a dream come true. I'm actually a little afraid of it. If I go near it, I could be lost for days.

Tue. 4/7/09 9:24am From: Jason

Hey Parq, there's no rush, it's not goin away or anything

Tue. 4/7/09 9:27am From: annie

parq, i feel your pain, am pretty in awe of it even though i haven't stepped near it. i just started getting used to the search bar on the splash page!

Tue. 4/7/09 9:28am From: dc pat

You're right Parq, it's scary as hell--I don't know where to start...

Tue. 4/7/09 9:28am From: Lou

Tue. 4/7/09 10:02am From: Doug from DC

The FMA rules. After you played the Dan Marino, I went looking for more DualpLOVER, and found both Volvox and Toxic Lipstick. And yes, Lucas is one of the most intense performers I've ever witnessed.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:05am From: Cecile

wow, the best sounding and worst message drug song ever.

makes me, uh, wanna, uh, wanna

holler. yes, that's my final answer.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:05am From: Parq

Joe, check and see if your email software sent the FMA note into the spam folder.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:07am From: postmanpaul

yeah annie, all of that and more!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:08am From: owen

Tue. 4/7/09 10:09am From: annie

long ago in a universe far away, back when abc sent out the top 100 lists at the end of the year, i noted that a song called "watch her ride" had made it to the list. it was a drug song, i was pretty sure. when time came for that song to be played in order, they skipped the song!! '66 or '67 ish, boy have times changed! and PMP- word up..

Tue. 4/7/09 10:11am From: Cecile

YES, I love those barebones early house tunes.

Do you have "O" by Adonis?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:11am From: Cecile

btw, jack ya body.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:11am From: dc pat

Jason has power...

Tue. 4/7/09 10:13am From: Cecile

the power of the music.
so let it be written.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:13am From: owen

thank you jason. shall i email you? or will it suffice to say that my log-in name is just "owen"

Tue. 4/7/09 10:14am From: Cecile

YES! I BEAR WITNESS TO THE HOUSE!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:16am From: jaypee

Oooo.. damn, I love me some early house tracks. Can we next please move over towards late 1980's Detroit, musically?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:17am From: annie

cecile, i finally got a whiff of the "flight of the conchords". wow, great show. might have to see if hulu has them..

Tue. 4/7/09 10:21am From: Cecile

Maybe. Netflix does.
And the DVD is on sale at Target. It will be an $18.99 well spent.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:21am From: Cecile

yes, yes. jaypee.
and maybe some robo-Ibiza dance junk too?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:24am From: Parq

Nicky! I'm slightly acquainted with her (as is Annie) -- nice to hear her on the air.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:25am From: Jason

sure jaypee, what do you guys like off this Trax 20th anniversary 3CD?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:26am From: Pearly Sweets

Stupid Tuesdays with their stupid meetings all day.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:27am From: Jøe Steele

e-mail is off and away.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:28am From: Cecile

Pearly, you missed the house.
You could not bear witness to the house. I am sad for you.

Is "O" on there, Jason?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:30am From: Pearly Sweets

And I see that I missed Smersh, which makes me cry the most.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:30am From: Cecile

No way back or Children of the night! would be good!
I looked it up on Amazon.

Why don't I own this?

Tue. 4/7/09 10:31am From: Pearly Sweets

I gotta another... 2 hour meeting at Wednesday which means I'll miss the chunk of three chord monte today too! WOE! WOE WOE WOE WOE IS ME!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:33am From: Pearly Sweets

Wow... that made no sense. I have a 2 hour meeting at 2, but I hope I don't have any on Weds. I think is what I was thinking....

Tue. 4/7/09 10:34am From: Pearly Sweets

or at noon... ugh.. my brain is fried.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:34am From: john eastridge

sup dawg

Tue. 4/7/09 10:36am From: jaypee

Cecile, right? I'm asking myself the same question. I vote for Acid Trax or This is Acid, 'cause I'm craving a bit of 303 action this morning.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:38am From: Cecile

Those would be good, too.
But I love Adonis.

BTW, the Trax set is now on its way to me. I fixed that gaping hole in my collection. Whew!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:39am From: GP

Good morning one and all.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:41am From: Cecile

YES!
This is the time on Talk is Cheap when we dance!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:42am From: dc pat

ich möchte tanzen aber ich habe keinen beinen.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:43am From: Kelly J.

Jason...I love how you punish and then reward us. Shake that thang!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:44am From: dc pat

wait, which is the punishment and which is the reward??

Tue. 4/7/09 10:44am From: Parq

Pearly, I feel your pain. I've got an outside appointment today that is going to preempt at least half of 3CM.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:44am From: GP

FMA..oh lordy....IT Police has it unlocked...must.......not.........look.....there.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:46am From: Jack Y. Body

THE HOUSE IS THE REWARD. BEAR WITNESS

Tue. 4/7/09 10:47am From: Cecile

nice. no pants, whips. ay yi yi.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:47am From: Pearly Sweets

On the way to work this morning, before the first meeting, I was jamming to Pink Skull and thinking about putting together a dance mash up album when I get my newish computer later this week. (Also still thinking about that "You Dropped a Sex Bomb On Me" mash up)

Tue. 4/7/09 10:48am From: Cecile

you must do it, Pearly.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:49am From: jaypee

Oh, dear lord.. I just remembered the FMA.. I now have goosebumps.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:49am From: Joe

Wow, thanks, Jason--I've had this Shriekback song in my head for days!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:49am From: Monty Python Gumby

ho, yus!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:50am From: Pearly Sweets

When it all comes down and I finish it. I'll burn a copy for you, Cecile. That's if I have any brain cells left by the end of this week.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:51am From: Cecile

thanks, dude!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:53am From: dc pat

you know what I've had in my head for about 24 hours? that tune Ben Walker played yesterday, a Story from North America...I don't know why..

Tue. 4/7/09 10:54am From: Pearly Sweets

Because it was sooo good, dc pat. That's why!

Tue. 4/7/09 10:54am From: Glenn L

Thanks, Jason.
Can't wait to hear the archive.

Tue. 4/7/09 10:58am From: Jøe Steele

Holy crap dc pat, me too.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:00am From: Sean Daily

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:01am From: Cecile

Melle Mel just sounded too happy.
That was because he was coked out of his gills when he recorded the song.
True story.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:05am From: dc pat

Jøe: showed my wife the animation for it and half way through, she looked at me and then switched on the tv. I think it's one of those either you get it or not deals...

Tue. 4/7/09 11:06am From: BillyJam

great show Jason......and love all the FMA material!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:07am From: Carmichael

Dammit, I missed Daniel Johnston and People Like Us. I blame myself ...

Good morning, Jason and usual suspects.

PMP, are little birdies flying around your head in blissful happiness???

DC Pat, do you now have a hole-free home?

Tue. 4/7/09 11:07am From: Cecile

hey, Billy, looking forward to the Jinx show friday!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:09am From: jaypee

Damn, Jason, your music selection is really doing me right.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:09am From: Cecile

he is on fire

Tue. 4/7/09 11:10am From: Jason

Thanks billy! SUp Eastridge?? Carmichael you can download those tracks!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:12am From: Cecile

Golem says that he just wants to do something special for all the ladies of the world.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:12am From: Carmichael

Yes sir. I'm trying to figure out how. I'm just a simple caveman. I know not of your FaceBook, your in-dashboard iPod connections, or your cherry cola drinks.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:12am From: Doug from DC

You should do a set with Golem!, Talibam! and Malaria! to cover all of the exclamation points.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:13am From: lisa

wow - that la moda song was gorgeous. thank you

Tue. 4/7/09 11:13am From: Cecile

and !!!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:14am From: GP

Don't forget "The GO! Team"

Tue. 4/7/09 11:14am From: Carmichael

and And! and

Tue. 4/7/09 11:16am From: owen

i like golem a lot. i think i will spend this week's food money on their new album and live off toast. (but do they definitely have an exclamation point? i'm dubious.)

Tue. 4/7/09 11:18am From: Ike

If you bake your own bread, then you can save even more money to spend on music.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:19am From: Doug from DC

And Hyaa!, if you wanna go back in DC history.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:20am From: Cecile

Rip, Rig and Panic! had an exclamation point, too, didn't they?

Tue. 4/7/09 11:22am From: owen

good point ike. might as well make the most of my unemployment and learn to do some new things.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:23am From: George Michael

WHAM!

Never forget

Tue. 4/7/09 11:23am From: dc pat

baking bread is highly rewarding. I'll bet annie does a lot o fthat.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:25am From: Ike

Plus it tastes better than store-bought. I use a bread machine, but you don't really need one -- Google "no-knead bread".

Tue. 4/7/09 11:25am From: annie

baking is wonderful.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:26am From: Cecile

No-knead bread is awesome.
you can make homemade noodles pretty easy, too.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:27am From: dc pat

never used a machine. all you have to do is knead for 7-10 minutes then let it sit around all day...you need to knead...

Tue. 4/7/09 11:27am From: Parq

You can always tell the people who are really clueless about cooking, by looking for the people going up to the supermarket manager to ask which aisle the toast is in.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:27am From: Pearly Sweets

Gospel Store Front is a pretty great album. It sounds like they listened to alot of renaldo and the loaf and the fall and then decided to record an album.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:28am From: LOL CAT #2

I'm in ur breds needin your do

Tue. 4/7/09 11:29am From: GP

Parq..that was a good one.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:31am From: Parq

GP, that was from Jimmie "JJ" Walker's stand-up act. See, I really don't only steal from the best . . .

Tue. 4/7/09 11:32am From: Carmichael

OK. Me figure out how to download. Me like.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:32am From: jaypee

Cecile, homemade noodles are the awesome. Super filling and delicious.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:33am From: Cecile

and you don't need a pasta machine, and they don't have to look perfect.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:34am From: Carmichael

Hey, we're talking about food. Where's Stingy?!?!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:34am From: GP

JJ Walker..man, there is a balst from the past.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:35am From: dc pat

dang Cecile, took me a little while to realize I didn't need a pasta machine. The key to most cooking is to throw perfection out the window.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:35am From: annie

i'm here, just having puter issues..

Tue. 4/7/09 11:35am From: Carmichael

The talkover music should be on the Exorcist.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:36am From: Cecile

I need to make them more. I like to cook, but the whole baking/flour deal still makes me twttchy and nervous.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:37am From: GP

balst = blast....but I think I just invented a new word.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:38am From: owen

i'm a definite fan of making pasta.

and jason, i only asked about golem! (i cede to your wisdom) as it doesnt include the exclamation point on the JDub website, or a previous album i have of theirs. evidently this new album represents a new, highly exclamatory direction for the band.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:39am From: Pearly D

As ze chef her', I'mma dedicate-a-dis next-a-meal to not staying in any sort of dialect. Oh bother.

Tue. 4/7/09 11:40am From: jason

owen i'm glad you asked, this album has a pic of someone wearing a golem t-shirt that doesnt have an exclamation point, so i think it's still open to debate

Tue. 4/7/09 11:43am From: GP

Their next album wil be even better: ¡ Golem !

Tue. 4/7/09 11:44am From: Sean Daily

OH MY GOD! That man's raping that poor saxophone!

Tue. 4/7/09 11:46am From: Pearly Sweets

Sean, in college I took a jazz class and I remember talking to the professor and telling him I enjoyed Anthony Braxton, Zorn, Vandermark, and Brotzmann for horn players and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "they play like they are fucking a goose"

Tue. 4/7/09 11:47am From: Jason

Sean that is a good description...he did a similar a capella thing that nite

Tue. 4/7/09 11:57am From: Carmichael

A capella, as in "no sax"? A sax-less sax solo?

Man, where do you find these people?!?
