	3:41pm markmaloof: But I think that the film soundtrack of Jesus Christ Superstar had the cooler sounding Judas (yeah, I know it's not a Judas song we are listening to now, but I had a discussion once with one of my stoner friends in (getting) High School about which was the cooler sounding Judas, the show soundtrack or the film's. He dug the stage Judas, but I though the film soundtrack Judas was more hip and soulful.

	3:55pm Parq: For reasons that I've discussed before (and will not bore you by repeating), "Jesus Christ Superstar", more than any other album, genuinely changed my life. Now, it happens that I love show tunes, but that aside, calling the original "JCS" album "show tunes" is like referring to "Tommy" as "opera music".

	4:33pm still b/p: Been waiting years for an opportunity to sing "Wiives and Lovers" in a Most Unlikely Campfire Song contest. annie - just lost the last local programming with a similar format, albeit pretty fuzzed and bent version with Kenny Rogers and contemporary entries cluttering and dulling things. But for the first time in a couple of decades, no 40s - 60s singers/songbook available to me on local commercial radio any more. Shame.

	4:43pm Robert1014: I'm 53 and remember much of what you've been playing today. I hated the 70s as I lived them in northeast Florida. When I think back on that era the word that comes to mind is "torpid." Yet, it was the era of punk, the most exciting cultural development I ever lived through, and even much of the mainstream music that I hated then I can listen to with pleasure now. I even look back now at the cultural attitudes prevalent then and it was by far a looser, different time than our much more rigid authoritarian era today. As for "Siberian Khatru," YES were the first band I saw in concert, on their 1972 CLOSE TO THE EDGE tour, (with the Eagles as their opening act) and I've always favored this among their albums. (In fact, it was their last good one!) I'm enjoying your show very much.

It's off the WNEW-FM/WYSP board; they did a simulacast. Yes opened with Siberian K for years, often still do...
	4:50pm markmaloof: Still like Dale Bozzio best when she was doing dirty voices on Zappa's Joe's Garage. I worked on a shoot with child music prodigies in Austin, and one kid had Terry Bozzio as a drum teacher, not bad. Liked him better as a drummer with Zappa than Missing Peeholes, but sure the MP gig made him a bit a little more money than playing with the Z man, at least for the blink of an eye.

	4:53pm markmaloof: Sad to say I saw Flock of Haircuts twice, both times as an opening act. The second time was an "ultimate" early 80s concert, Flock of Haircuts, The FIxx, and then the Police. Hmmm, while the 70s mainstream had some great rock music at times, the 80s mainstream had lots of sub-par going on (it was the underground of the 80s where IT all lived, always will cherish those shows, that radio, those records....)

He dug the stage Judas, but I though the film soundtrack Judas was more hip and soulful.

Now, it happens that I love show tunes, but that aside, calling the original "JCS" album "show tunes" is like referring to "Tommy" as "opera music".

	4:43pm Robert1014: I'm 53 and remember much of what you've been playing today. I hated the 70s as I lived them in northeast Florida. When I think back on that era the word that comes to mind is "torpid." Yet, it was the era of punk, the most exciting cultural development I ever lived through, and even much of the mainstream music that I hated then I can listen to with pleasure now. I even look back now at the cultural attitudes prevalent then and it was by far a looser, different time than our much more rigid authoritarian era today. As for "Siberian Khatru," YES were the first band I saw in concert, on their 1972 CLOSE TO THE EDGE tour, (with the Eagles as their opening act) and I've always favored this among their albums. (In fact, it was their last good one!) I'm enjoying your show very much.

It's off the WNEW-FM/WYSP board; they did a simulacast. Yes opened with Siberian K for years, often still do...

I worked on a shoot with child music prodigies in Austin, and one kid had Terry Bozzio as a drum teacher, not bad. Liked him better as a drummer with Zappa than Missing Peeholes, but sure the MP gig made him a bit a little more money than playing with the Z man, at least for the blink of an eye.

Hmmm, while the 70s mainstream had some great rock music at times, the 80s mainstream had lots of sub-par going on (it was the underground of the 80s where IT all lived, always will cherish those shows, that radio, those records....)
