Thu. 4/30/09 9:48pm From: cheri

but debbie i want to give some shout out to my best buds anthony--dawn- diamond and especialy to you debbie!!!!!

Thu. 4/30/09 9:52pm From: Debbie D

Kevin, that's from one of Mr. Fine Wine's Marathon premiums.

Thu. 4/30/09 9:52pm From: G

Yeah, I grew up in the Detroit area in the late 60s and early 70s. With things going as they are in Deee-troit these days, that little promo was pretty elegiac. Detroit population, 1950 census: 2 million, highest per capita income of any large US city. Today, maybe 750,000 population -- and the economy there, fuhgeddaboutit.

Thu. 4/30/09 9:55pm From: Debbie D

Yeah Dtroit was just named the most dangerous city in the country. I'm going there in June for the Gories Oblivians show...

Thu. 4/30/09 9:55pm From: cheri

well anyway debbie do you have any little eva tonite??

Thu. 4/30/09 9:57pm From: G

Have fun -- I've been known to do some things my mother totally wouldn't have approved of, as long as it was in pursuit of cultural experiences. :-)

Thu. 4/30/09 10:05pm From: d

anyone heard this "here come the mummies" band? terrifying funk? from beyond? these costumes are kinda so close I wanna kill em...again.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:06pm From: fatty jubbo

ha! 3 of the last 5 songs were covered by the fall.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:08pm From: brian

I've heard of them, d, and I'll join you in your contempt of them.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:08pm From: Debbie D

Ha! That's my next blog post, fatty. Thanks to Listener Thomas!

Thu. 4/30/09 10:10pm From: d

Thu. 4/30/09 10:16pm From: Ron

Hey, Debbie. You're the greatest. Wanda Jackson in German and The Tradewinds... Just got out my 45 of "New York's A Lonely Town". It's definitely scan-worthy.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:18pm From: Debbie D

Thanks, Ron. Trade Winds is one of my faves.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:20pm From: Louie

Can someone slap Ken around and get Debbie a morning slot for the next lineup...hearing this once a week in the morning would change my life.

Thu. 4/30/09 10:21pm From: Debbie D

It ain't Ken's fault, Louie. But thanks!

Thu. 4/30/09 10:22pm From: cheri

well debbie i gotta skip out now ,,sorry to bother you

Thu. 4/30/09 10:22pm From: Louie

Can we still slap him around...just for old time's sake?

Thu. 4/30/09 10:24pm From: Kevan from NW

Little known fact that The Gentrys version of Cinnamon Girl
charted higher and stayed longer than Neil's at the time

Thu. 4/30/09 10:24pm From: Debbie D

I cannot condone that. Ken gave me away at my wedding last year!

Thu. 4/30/09 10:27pm From: Louie

A family member, then....a distant relative. Or burn an effigy. You make the best kind of radio...who can we slap around???

Thu. 4/30/09 10:27pm From: aislinn

Thu. 4/30/09 10:50pm From: Neil

I didn't think it was just me imagining a similarity between Sebastian et al and the Human Beinz, and now this version. Do you know the chronology?

Thu. 4/30/09 10:50pm From: Debbie D

Of Course The Mummy will be there!!!

Thu. 4/30/09 10:58pm From: Lived in Brasil

Great show.

The last name of the group in Portuguse would be "Internacionais" -- the whole name means "The International Shrapnels"

Fri. 5/1/09 4:20am From: Richard D
