  4:35pm
Eurocops:

Mmmm, brutality lite
  4:35pm
PMD:

Hi guys! Great to hear you!
  4:35pm
Joe Steele:

The guy sounds French.
  4:37pm
Ken and Brian:

mais oui, Joseph
  4:37pm
Liz B.:

Lineup for tonight: Spectrum, Magik Markers, The Bats, then the Vaselines later on...
  4:39pm
DBinNYC:

Enjoy Spain:

  4:39pm
chris:

hey ken and brian - sounds great!!!
  4:39pm
RichardRidden:

diggin this so far...
  4:39pm
Cecile:

nice, can't wait to hear that Bats set.
  4:41pm
Rob W:

Reminds me of the time Katie and I had to evacuate Portugal because we neglected to realize that the European Cup Finals were coming to town! Couldn't get a hotel room after that. And it was a fun cultural experience watching the first match at a local cafe, etc. Actually the Portuguese were very cool, drinking wine and small glasses of beer as usual, but then the German and British fans arrived for the tournament and all of a sudden these giant beer steins emerged that we didn't even know existed in Portugal! And banners went up on historic statues and things like that, and things did indeed get rowdy, although since we had to leave we missed the real fireworks...
  4:41pm
Bradford Eugene LaBonte:

Sounding great!
  4:42pm
Cecile:

Holy crap, Rob, that sounds crazy.
  4:43pm
Laurie:

The 128k mp3 stream just burped, like, 12 times. It's fine now...
  4:44pm
Liz B.:

Thanks for the heads-up on the dropouts, our internets are iffy over here in Barca. We asked for 2 things: power and internet, but both are kinda shaky.
  4:47pm
PMD:

I think it all must have burped. I'm on Widows Media Player and it did that too. But all is well now.
  4:48pm
Laurie:

Liz, I would have asked for at least three things. Power, internet, and uppers.
  4:49pm
G:

Burpage was on realaudio too, fwiw -- multiple two or three second squeally stalls
  4:52pm
PMD:

Or power, internet, and nose clips.
  4:53pm
Ken:

Yeah, it's gonna keep burping in all formats unfortunately. The Vodaphone 3G card we're using is really crappy. Im amazed it's working at all.
  4:54pm
Laurie:

Or disco dust. You know, numb up the nose, stay up all night so you can see all the bands! Right??

Kidding!
  4:55pm
DBinNYC:

rumor has it the pollution in Barcelona and Madrid is made up of trace amounts of marching powder...
  4:56pm
Ken:

I dont smell any crack in the air. I dont even smell weed. All I smell is fucking sewage.
  4:56pm
Cecile:

Vodaphone should put some more money into research instead of those excellent ads that keep winning prizes.
  4:57pm
Cecile:

Is weed legal in Spain?

No reason.
  4:58pm
chris:

even with the burps the quality is - no wooshing sounds at all
  4:59pm
GP:

32K Stream has been fine..no drops....bring me back a t-shirt Liz...please.
  4:59pm
chris:

...the quality is great...
  5:00pm
PMD:

Karma just hit Ken.
  5:01pm
Cecile:

does spectrum play only covers?
  5:02pm
Sewage Scent:

We build up your immune system, and as a free bonus remind you of one of your peak life experiences, colonoscopy prep, You're very welcome.
  5:02pm
Spanish Galleon:

so then this ISN'T Spacemen 3?
  5:03pm
sj:

I agree with Chris: it really does sound fantastic.
  5:03pm
nasok:

oh i hope this all gets archived...
  5:04pm
ovid:

cecile - no they dont...but i think they enjoy doing um - or they are being a bit lazy
  5:05pm
ovid:

spectrum is essentially 1/2of spaceman 3
  5:05pm
Cecile:

gotcha.
  5:08pm
Spanish Galleon:

ah, thanx Ovid
  5:08pm
ovid:

spaceman 3 used to do a lot of covers too
  5:10pm
Derrick:

Drop outs are becoming more frequent. :(
  5:11pm
chris:

it seems the burps are happening more at the beginning of the songs
  5:12pm
Laurie:

So can anyone identify the songs they've played so far? I gather the first was a Stereolab cover...
  5:13pm
ovid:

the 2nd was transparent radiation (spa 3)
  5:13pm
Cecile:

they did Transparent Radiation by the Red Krayola
  5:13pm
Kramerog:

"When Tomorrow Hits It will Hit You Hard" is a cover of Mudhoney covered by Spacemen 3.
  5:14pm
ovid:

yes cecile -
  5:14pm
Cecile:

And that last song had a quote from the MC5's "Kick out the Jams"
  5:15pm
ovid:

the mudhoney song was when tomorrow hits
  5:15pm
Cecile:

I actually didn't know Sp3 did that song. I posted at exactly the same time you did, ovid!
  5:16pm
Cecile:

Heh, I thought it was going to be War Sucks!
  5:17pm
ovid:

and i forgot it was a red krayola song
  5:17pm
Laurie:

Their new single is also a cover.
  5:19pm
Cecile:

they like doing those covers! Good for them.
A good song is a good song.
  5:19pm
ovid:

  5:21pm
Vicki:

  5:35pm
Derrick:

  5:36pm
Not That Bright:

What's Yo La Tengo called in the Spanish market? I Got It?
  5:38pm
ovid:

thats funny ntb - can i use it in a poem?
  5:39pm
PMD:

Yeah, that made me laugh too...
  5:39pm
Not That Bright:

It doesn't fit daxtylic hexameter, Ov. Has your poetic license expired?
  5:40pm
Obviously NTB:

  5:43pm
ovid:

  5:44pm
Cecile:

Check the ratings on your laptop P/S, most of them are switchers and autorange from 120/240, you may only need a connector adapter.
  6:21pm
Woodstock Guy:

Tell them not to eat the brown acid for godsakes.
  6:25pm
Ken:

Yeah, the problem is actually that our European power strip only had three outlets on it so we ran one through a converter to a larger US poweer strip.. that, plus the fact that we're fucking pathetic.
  6:29pm
Janet H:

you can't be that pathetic because i'm still here.
