  9:26am
annie:

welcome to the wild world of wfmu!!
  9:26am
Parq:

Forgive me for being the last to know this, but I just found out that there is a mainstream cover of "Opfer Dieses Liedes" out there - the song that was all over FMU last year, the one where the European girl shrieks that she never dreamed that she'd meet anybody like you. I heard this version - Chris Isaak, I gather - in the supermarket last night and laughed uncontrollably all through the produce and meat aisle.
  9:28am
annie:

what a great image parq.... were you able to drive home?
  9:30am
jason:

yeah that is great parq, you're lucky to've held out this long...i used to really hate that song cuz of chris isaak, but now i like it thanks to maria, scott w and toher wfmu djs who showd me the light
  9:32am
Parq:

Annie, it's across the street from my building - city guy, y'know? Yeah, Jase, that's what I just looked up to remember the name. What's up with the '09 h&m videos?
  9:33am
north guinea hills:

you know, i've never heard palais schaumburg before. considering the impressive lineup they had. thanks!
  9:33am
annie:

city-slickers... hehe
  9:36am
north guinea hills:

  9:39am
jason:

glad you liked that track, north guinea hills! they're from LA, and they're coming to NY for a wfmu-sponsored cumbia night at the bell house! http://verybecareful.com/
  9:41am
north guinea hills:

  9:49am
still b/p:

Some kinda schedule snafu cancelled the Sir Richard Bishop local appearance I expected to see last week. And just now I was out of the room when his track played. Sir Slippery.
  9:53am
Cecile:

morning all!
  9:54am
annie:

i figured you'd slip in soon.. morning cecile, hope you are feeling better
  9:57am
Cecile:

yeha, I'm a little better. back at work.
  10:00am
north guinea hills:

a band named after a principality..., interesting....
  10:00am
PMD:

Hi all. Thanks mucho for the music Jason...
  10:04am
Cecile:

This US Maple is somehow reminding me of Bon era AC DC - if it were from Jupiter or something. Coolness.
  10:06am
doug from dc:

Hope all commenters from DC are OK.
  10:08am
stingy d:

wahdat
  10:09am
jason:

actuallycecile, the disc itself has a modified van halen logo. what's happening in dc doug?
  10:09am
Parq:

Me too, Doug. Man, life is arbitrary. Untold thousands of people have ridden one or both of those two lines in the past several months, and had perfectly ordinary trips. When your number's up . . .
  10:10am
Cecile:

what happened in dc, doug? Heavy weather

Hahahahahha jason.
  10:10am
Bad Ronald:

Train wreck.
  10:11am
Cecile:

oh, dear. Oh, dear.
  10:12am
doug from dc:

Literal train wreck, on the Metro Rail, nine dead, seventy injured. Fortunately, most of the people I know who take the red line live at the other end of it.
  10:12am
dc pat:

luckily, I ride a bike. sucks, this crap hardly ever happens but this one is the worst.
  10:14am
stingy d:

hey jason, can't help but ask, but... don't suppose you listened to any of that there set of cd's didya?
  10:16am
jason:

i did stingy! dug the lee hazelwood set
  10:17am
stingy d:

cool, you definitely had me thinkin... so i'm gonna make it more crispier.
  10:18am
Cecile:

that's terrible, doug. Rail is really safe, but no vehicle is accident proof. Awwww
  10:21am
Parq:

That's the irony, 'Cile. Untold thousands of people who are afraid to fly will now be afraid to go by train, heedless of the automobile's grotesque safety record.
  10:22am
Cecile:

I know, I know.
  10:25am
north guinea hills:

I find it nearly impossible to find ghedalia tazartes music anywhere in nyc. i suppose i'll break down and get the mp3s.
  10:25am
rf:

zu it's a italian band
  10:26am
pauladepipersdaughterpostingpedagogicpassion:

great music. thx. listening out of south east ireland, prepping for a job interview, a creative job fortunately enough. whats song in background. thx
paula
  10:28am
dc pat:

the funny thing about jets/metro vs cars is that people feel safer if they're in control. I know I do too
  10:29am
doug from dc:

The odd thing is that I usually drive, but my car was in the shop, so this was one of the rare commutes where I took the subway. But I'm on a different line, and didn't find out until I got home.
  10:30am
jason:

background loop for that last mic break was faust's "just a second (starts like that)
  10:31am
14K Gold Slum Computer Wizard:

xin chao from hanoi, wfmu!
  10:33am
pauladepipersdaughterplayfullyprosaic:

  10:33am
jason:

  10:36am
annie:

ok, all. out to the garden.. see y'all later for joe's show prolly.
  10:37am
stingy d:

oh shit... that's garunteed to make 'em jump like rod strickland!
  10:42am
Cecile:

lmao. Rod Strickland. I haven't thought about that dude in years.
  10:45am
Dan:

Hey Jason, the guys are packed in a van heading back to L.A., but wanted to thank you, FMU, and NYC for the hospitality. Always a great time! (and a GREAT engineering job as well). Best regards, Dan.
  10:46am
jason:

thanks Dan, it was very fun! Any more details about the EU tour?
  10:48am
Dan:

Still filling in dates, but definitely happening Sept/Oct. Looks like mainland in Sept/UK in Oct. I'll send you the schedule when firm.
  10:51am
Cecile:

I liked the first Ratt album. So sue me.

You UA guys are fan-Frippin'-tastic
  10:54am
Dan:

Sorry Jason, sarcasm is cheap in the UA world. Thanks for the compliment Cecile.
  10:58am
Cecile:

you are welcome. i love how you arranged Lonely Woman.
  11:03am
Dan:

Thanks again Jason. I have to sign off, but really enjoyed your show. Best to you and your listeners. Hope to see you on the next swing through the NE.
  11:15am
Cecile:

Are you going to play some more black metal? Please! Please!
  11:22am
Cecile:

grindcore works.
  11:26am
Sue:

Hey, just wanted to say, really awesome set! The last couple of songs, including this one, are really bangin'! Thank you!!
  11:27am
dc pat:

cut it out.
  11:29am
jason:

thanks sue!
  11:31am
jaypee:

I agree with Sue, I'm loving this set. All over the place in all the right ways.
  11:34am
dc pat:

now THIS I like.
  11:35am
anyone to everyone:

mr. sigal ALWAYS has good sets. ALWAYS.
  11:40am
WalMart:

Legal tells us that's a trademark violation, dude. Wow, so we can own part of the language? That is soooooo cool!
  11:57am
Cecile:

holy crap, that is a wild promo photo
