It's *always* a good time for monster trucks. Damn, I need to get a guest monster truck on the show pronto.

I just stumbled on Sir Richard Bishop a few days ago and now I'm hearing his material all over the place. This seems to be a common theme in life with music.

Yeah, there's so much out there it's almost too much. I can't imagine growing up in such a music rich environment -- I had to drive 2 hours to find a Residents record when I was in high school! BTW, all, the link is http://excavatedshellac.wordpress.com/ for Excavated Shellac -- and all of the Excavated Shellac tunes are also downloadable at WFMU's Free MusicArchive.org

Grew up in the burbs of Chicago and made many trips to the city JUST to buy music.

What's really amazing to me is how many people are content with what's on the radio and popular media.

i just smoked a bit, and I must say the 128kbps MP3 encoding is making "Sunday Morning" sound mighty good. That layered stuff, those voice-derived transients, it makes it sound like wicked experimentation going on amid absolutely stupendous production. What talent, those Velvets, and what a fortuitous coming together.
