Listener comments!

  12:03pm stingy d:

i'm hungry!
  12:04pm Carmichael:

Hi Joe. Man, you sure know how to start a show!

If you can fit some King Khan in in the next few hours, that would be wonderful.
  12:04pm G:

commenting works up an appetite, apparently :-P
  12:07pm walt:

got any Knaughty Knights?
  12:08pm nasok:

keep on the mempis ness
  12:08pm Cecile:

Ja Ja! to the Oblivians.
  12:09pm Cecile:

Yes, play some Impala!
  12:13pm Carmichael:

I like this whole surf music resurgence with a Spanish theme. I'm old school surf, and the Lively Ones rule. But there's something to be said for the Bomboras, Los Straitjackets and their ilk.
  12:16pm stingy d:

careful of that ilk bomb there. you might be using it wrong?!!
  12:19pm Cecile:

I like just about all the surf stuff. I think there's room for everyone in the genre's giant beach cabana
  12:19pm RZ:

ilk just means 'type' or 'class'... Whatchya talking about Stingy??
  12:21pm GP:

A cow is of the Bovine ilk,
One end is Moo the other is Milk.
- Ogden Nash -
  12:22pm Carmichael:

Hey Stingy, that's the Irish comin' outta me.
  12:25pm stingy d:

chill rza... i was under the impression that ilk implied a degree of negative implications or connotation.
  12:27pm stingy d:

also i'm down with almost all forms of surf stuff, except for surfing.
  12:34pm Carmichael:

That's all we did as kids. Not so much anymore. Not at all, actually.
  12:35pm RZ:

those of my ilk are always chill baby! Chillin 'n' swillin! Well not actually swillin' at the mo'- but not by choice :)
  12:35pm Cecile:

I'd love to actually surf on a boogie board or a long board. We only body surfed when we lived in Australia for a year.
It's a dream...
  12:40pm Peter from Western Mass.:

Hey Joe, saw you at the Loney/Jordan gig at Maxwell's but I was too busy hugging my hot ladyfriend to come over and say hi
  12:44pm Joe B:

Hey Peter, sorry I missed you at the show. Hi everybody, thanks for listening/checking in!
  12:47pm seang:

This show fuckin kicks ass!
  1:04pm Dadio:

Hi Joe, Listening to you in beautiful downtown Trenton NJ.
  1:13pm detroitdave:

Afternoon Joe....this show is ALWAYS welcome on my PC!
  1:39pm Nick:

hoagiefest rules, so sad its gone for the summer
thanks for playing
  1:40pm Joe B:

Nick, it is extended until Aug. 9!
  1:40pm George:

Great to hear Hoagiefest tunes, Joe! Thanks for "sandwiching" that one into your playlist!
  1:44pm Cecile:

I have to get that damn tinted windows disc.
It will probably be like 50 cents soon enough as the regular critical media is viewing it as a gimmick. Bah.
  1:47pm pfapfap:

Wow I had to look up that Hoagiefest song. It's a real thing! I was visiting Delaware last month and the locals couldn't stop raving about WaWa. I had a few sandwiches, and now that I know of this song... I understand.
  1:48pm Carmichael:

I like the TW track played here last week or the week before. Can't believe I'm saying that, knowing who's in the band ....
  1:51pm ?:

Knowing who's in the band ... Cheap Trick, great, Fountains of Wayne - ok, Hanson - they were kids, and James Iha actually has a cool solo album in the cheapo used bins
  1:52pm Cecile:

I liked half of James Iha's solo CD.
Also, I thought with some coaxing and mentoring, Hanson could've been a good muscular power pop band.
  1:56pm Cecile:

well, off to get a sub not worthy of Hoagiefest. Ah, well, it's food...
  1:57pm Carmichael:

Liz got me psyched for tacos, and I never made it yesterday. I shall wait no longer.
  2:05pm Rublle:

pfapfpa, klisten to all the hogiefest tunes.. they're great!
  2:06pm Rubble:

oops, I meant, pfapfap!
  2:14pm Drew:

Hey, how can anyone not like Hanson?!

Mmmbop is a great pop song.
  2:20pm Devin:

Hello everybody... My taco lunch was delicious.
  2:39pm Cecile:

Okay, my Subway was mediocre but filling.
  2:39pm Joe Steele:

That honestly should be Subway's slogan.
  2:42pm Cecile:

hey, can you play carcass and crow from Gem again?
  2:44pm Cecile:

Doug Gillard, you make the good rock music. Not punk, not pop, just rock.
  2:51pm Cecile:

DEATH
  2:52pm GP:

I must say. I do like this "Keep on Knocking" song. I do indeed.
  2:58pm RZ:

cool show Joe!
