2600:

Way too cool!. How did you know I needed a dose of old 'Floyd today?

You're a bloomn' genius, Irene.
  3:23pm
2600:

Er, should say "bloomin'", not "bloomn'".
  3:29pm
Sean Gostage:

Hi Irene,
Would like to follow up "2600"'s remark, Floyd, just what I require while doing the ironing at this moment in time
  3:31pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Floyd to Radiohead, nice. Got 'Seascape' by Pete Bardens?
  3:32pm
v k:

  3:51pm
Jed Clampett:

Welllllll, doggies!
  3:53pm
dei xhrist:

thank you, Les Paul, for figuring out how to warp sound so that I can but a readymade effects pedal.
  3:53pm
Sean Gostage:

Hi Irene,
I was reading his obituary in the Daily Telegraph and up until now had no idea of his musical output which I am ashamed to say but these tracks you are playing, wow
  3:54pm
dei x:

what is this, bad typemanship day? I mean BUY a readymade... totally makes more sense now
  4:00pm
Sean Gostage:

Dear Dei,
sorry to be a bit of a Luddite but what is a Readymade effects pedal
  4:01pm
gumby:

some icy cool Les on a hot day.
NICE!!!
  4:06pm
Carmichael:

Sean, I believe Dei was referring generically to pre-programmed effects pedals for guitar: fuzz, echo, wah-wah, phase shifter, etc .... They are cheap and plentiful these days, thanks to the pioneering work of Mr. Paul.
  4:08pm
Sean Gostage:

Hi Irene and Dear Listeners,
sorry to clog up the comments page with my twittering but I have never had such an enjoyable ironing session as I am now, Les Paul, just wonderous
  4:11pm
lis:

thanks for playing all these great les + mary tunes! its sad that only when someone dies we get to hear so much of their work. sweet, sweet beauty.
  4:11pm
Sean Gostage:

Thanks Carmichael,
The article in the Telegraph mentioned the pioneering of Mr Paul, ie J Page, the tattoo chappy out of Gun and Roses and many more have a lot to thank this man
  4:30pm
v k:

anyone see new rockumentary with Jimmy Page, U2's guitarist (refuse to commit his name to memory),and Jack White? just curious
  4:31pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Steve Martin, not so "wild & crazy guy" anymore!
  4:38pm
annie:

i'm so pleased steve martin has finally come out of his shell and made this cd.. i've been hearing it on other stations as well. really nice..
  4:43pm
Carmichael:

I saw him on SNL earlier this year, and he played a quirky banjo song with a large group. Entertaining.
  4:59pm
dei x:

sorry Sean, actual work interrupted me. Effects are the glamor wigs of electric instruments - Les Paul developed all these settings to make sounds tinny*, woody*, or just the right reverb - so now hacks like me can play a keyboard with my face and run that sound through a device (the "pedal') that hence makes the sound pleasing to my ear.
