	9:06pm dan in falls church VA: wow, great opening piece, thank god it's time for SHP, I've gotta balance my damn bank account on a sunday evening, the show will surely make this more tolerable! i never knew there was an artist/group called "mount analog", that's the title of an old novel i've heard about so many times but never actually seen a copy of.
	9:09pm Homme: Wondering if Bethany will be out of breath from dashing all the way from the SS Jewel.
	9:12pm bethany: Well, with my Mom beside me (she was my esteemed Guest of Honor) we dashed to 14th St for the 1st Ave L train, transferred to the A train at 8th Ave, trucked down to the PATH train and got here just in time. Whew!
	9:14pm Bunyan: Apparently, it's much far easier to find music by the group of that name than to find the novel (doesn't look like it's been translated into English -- and the author didn't live to finish it anyway...)

	9:29pm Bunyan: Wonder if the current printing of 'Mount Analogue' includes some of the surrealist art that it inspired. I was somewhat amazed to see The Dirty Three were appearing at All Tomorrow's Parties last Monday -- considering that they were then to give performances here in Minneapolis that night and Tuesday. Must have been fun hopping the plane in time... As a request for some time in the future, I note that Bill Carrothers' music has not yet been on SHP.

	10:15pm santiago: as far as john cage, one of my all time favorites goes, i can see how the clinking of silverware would be an especially upsetting thing in conjunction with his music, or maybe he would just write it in?
	10:26pm Bunyan: phxpat, I think it would be a challenge to identify the genre of much of the music on a show such as this: some of the artists get filed under "classical" or "jazz" (or even "rock" or something unhelpful like "new music"), but there are also artists who consciously dodge categorization. If you're having to place special orders, you're probably safer in giving them artist-title-label; fortunately, it's pretty easy for shop owners to run searches these days...
