  12:20pm

That was sort of a joke re: "...Baby Blue," Pat. I haven't read her stuff in a while.
  12:21pm
dc pat:

I know Ike's.
  12:21pm
Carmichael:

  12:26pm
Carmichael:

I wish I could. But this is still awesome ...
  12:27pm
north guinea hills:

what's an FM radio?

i have multiple cassette decks, old gramaphones for my 78's, a shortwave, but i must admit, no FM radio....(might get one when you guys put up the new booster antenna)
  12:27pm
jejejejennnnie:

  12:27pm
dc pat:

  12:27pm

  12:37pm
Parq:

Heard some Moondog on Dan B's show by my request, and now hearing more all week. Suits me just fine.
  12:41pm
Dominick:

Anything's better than the Sony phones.
Your ears won't be fried after several hours.
  12:48pm
Carmichael:

I use the big black Koss headphones. There's nothing better in the studio.

Not recommended for your iPod, though ...
  12:50pm
quinn:

i love when you sing along / make trumpet noises to the background music. it makes me feel so happy while i'm stuck at my desk.
  12:50pm
north guinea hills:

Although I convinced my boss to allow me to listen to music at work, he won't allow me to use my turtle shells and instead I have to use earbuds :(
  12:51pm
dc pat:

Carm: I use the fucked up brown ones with only one channel working, with beer and sweat all over them that smell like some one's ass.
  12:52pm
Scott:

Aw, thanks Quinn. It's a compulsion, I'm sure you'd hate it if you were in the room with me!
  12:53pm
Carmichael:

A few months ago, Fabio half-sang along with the Allman Brothers' "Blue Sky", including the guitar solo.

I found it intriguing.
  12:55pm
Dominick:

north guinea hills,
Check out the Shure SE210 ear buds
  12:56pm
Carmichael:

Pat, we must have worked at the same radio station!
  12:59pm
north guinea hills:

Thanks Dominick!
  1:04pm
dc pat:

Carm: I was talking recording studio. They NEVER have any decent head sets. Well, the ones I frequent anyway...
  1:07pm
Carmichael:

Pat, I have my own studio at home, with all my outdated equipment. It's a living monument to the '70s.
  1:08pm
dc pat:

right on, cuz..
  1:09pm
Ike:

Shure makes great earbuds, but the left channel on mine got really quiet after about 1-1.5 yrs. Admittedly I could prob. have been more gentle with them, but for such a high-end product, I thought they'd be sturdier. Maybe next time I will try Etymotic and see if they last longer.
  1:19pm
Carmichael:

Ike, I use the Sony Mdr-As40Ex buds for my iPod. I don't like wedging buds into my ear canals, so I got these. They have good bass range, and they're inconspicuous (despite their look). Have lasted me about 3 yrs with no trouble.
  1:19pm
dc pat:

mmm lectric lashes...
  1:25pm
dc pat:

thanks scott.
  1:25pm
Scott:

de nada dc pat
  1:27pm
Zach In Philly:

  1:55pm
Zach In Philly:

"and, uh, always very unhappy"... how relevant
  2:09pm
eric:

lookin' forward to Faust! thanks for playin' 'em...
  2:13pm
eric:

has fmu ever assessed just how many listeners are actually unable to tune in the station on their radios at home or at their office? it's been a fact of life for years...never thought I'd be saying "thank dog for thee internets"
  2:23pm
?:

the more I hear of this Orphan Fairytale record the better it gets.
  2:25pm
Scott:

Hey Eric! Nice to see you, looking fwd to seeing you at Faust. To answer your question..... let's say there;s a lotta people looking forward to that Times Sq booster antenna we're working on!
  2:28pm
Zach In Philly:

eric, I feel your pain/pleasure. WFMU is magical in any medium, but there's nothing like tuning it in over the analog airwaves. One night, while driving up to NYC, my wife and I made serious reparations in our love life while listening to WFMU on the car radio. Dave Mandl was the DJ at the helm (http://www.wfmu.org/~davem/Davem.html). The next morning, in a frigid January, I woke up early after being out all night to re-park the car per the zoning restrictions. And I heard one the most beautiful things I've ever heard via speaker on WFMU that morning while Jeffrey Davison was spinning reality faster than I could spin the block.
  2:33pm
GP:

I concur ?
  2:33pm
Savory C:

Eva van Deuren mit shlag
  2:34pm
GP:

Sounds like a Tim Burton or Neil Gaiman soundtrack.
  2:45pm
Savory C:

cant come to the phone right now... I'm tied to the mast...
Dr. Plant what have you done!!??
(gosh, the math is really hard)
  2:48pm
J-Mar:

Wow, this set is totally in line with my kind of strange day today, which thus far has included singer Glen Campbell talking to me in a Donald Duck voice. No, really.
  2:53pm
jorge:

Hey Scott, jorge from barcelona here nice to listen live to your show finally. hope you guys can come next year with your wfmu stage @ anywhere in spain :)
  2:58pm
Parq:

GP, I'd say that I'd love to see a Tim Burton adaptation of a Neil Gaiman book, but then I remembered what a muffed opportunty Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" turned out to be.
  2:59pm
north guinea hills:

So, is this a compilation of "Baby Blue" tracks entitled vol. 1, or is it the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band's vol. 1's "Baby Blue"
  3:01pm
Ike:

"WFMU is magical in any medium, but there's nothing like tuning it in over the analog airwaves."

Hallelujah!
  3:01pm
GP:

10-4 on that Parq...forgot that one.
  3:02pm
miketp:
