Listener comments!

  6:05am
Sue:

Good morning, Joe! I'm counting on you to keep me up this morning! Is that a lot to ask?
  6:07am
Joe:

No, I think it's fair! After all, you're helping keep ME up. How are you this Saturday?
  6:09am
Sue:

Tired and a little cranky. I passed out last night and barely got up this morning. How about you?
  6:12am
Joe:

Mm, pretty tired, too, but not TOO cranky. Got trapped in a mysterious traffic jam last night, the kind that seems to have no cause, and I got home late, went to bed late, etc. Eyelids at half mast today.
  6:14am
Sue:

:) at least we're on the same page.
  6:15am
Joe:

Yep! A page of a bedtime story, I guess! You know, when your eyes get all fuzzy right before you fall asleep....
  6:18am
Sue:

Yes, I'm totally there. ugh. Well, thanks for the tunes!
  6:20am
Joe:

You bet, Sue! Thanks as always for checking in before you go off to your job!
  6:24am
Sue:

Thanks, dude. It's hard being a baker. I need a change of occupation.
  6:27am
Joe:

Who knows? Maybe you'll end up working at a car wash or a bank.
  6:30am
Sue:

A bank?! God forbid! If I ever become a bank teller, please shoot me.
  6:37am
Mike Sin:

Yay Big Star! Yay to (the dwindling) Rhino records! Yay Joe!
  6:38am
Joe:

OK, Sue, I promise! Hey, Mike! Yeah, I'm bummed to hear about the cuts at Rhino. What a drag!
  6:54am
Sue:

I love what you're playing!
  6:55am
Joe:

Thanks, Sue! A volunteer went to Turkey and came back with an armful of Selda CDs. Much Selda to come on WFMU!
  6:59am
Sue:

Just beautiful!
  7:11am
BMR:

hi joe. yr show is great, been listening since jeffrey went on hiatus. is he coming back? yours is a solid sub regardless.
  7:14am
Joe:

Hey, BMR! Thanks for the kind words--I've been having a great time keeping Jeff's chair warm for him! I can't say for sure until next week if he'll be back, but I'd say it's likely. He's an institution! I'm honored to host a show in this time slot.
  7:17am
BMR:

I'll keep my fingers crossed, not for a whole week, but on and off. Do you have another time-slot also? If Jeff comes back, will Surface Noise continue?
  7:19am
Joe:

Wow, thanks, BMR. I sure hope so! It's all in the hands of greater forces! Time will tell....
  7:45am
Mike Sin:

My early Saturday mornings wouldn't be the same without Joe McG... all I'd have is this bowl of Kashi, and that ain't enough *pOp*
  7:47am
Joe:

Ha! I hope I give you some snap, crackle, AND pop (extra pop, of course)!
  7:56am
Joe:

And of course songs about being dead.
  7:58am
annie:

sorry to log in so late, i was listening to a station that has a new sat am deejay.. not that exciting and i forgot to come here first.. conditioning: pavlov would be disappointed.
  8:00am
Mike Sin:

Bloodrock! Man, I can't believe this track actually charted!
  8:09am
Joe:

Yeah, it's got to be one of the craziest Top 40 records ever!
  8:11am
Joe:

Glad to have you aboard, Annie!
  8:15am
annie:

good to be here, joe... light frost here this am.. 42 on the hill.
  8:41am
chuck in ct:

hey joe good show ......thankx
  8:42am
Joe:

Hey, Chuck! Thanks for the kind words! Having a great time.
  8:43am
Hugh Effen-Bastid:

Re DOA: I once saw some Dateline-type newsshow about crash survivors in which one of the victims said that listening to that song gave him a strong emotional flashback to his accident.
  8:45am
Joe:

I'll bet! A lot of radio stations banned it because people reacted so strongly to it.
