Listener comments!

  6:18am
Sue:

Good morning! How's it going?
  6:20am
Joe:

Hey, Sue! How does this song sound on your computer? I'm only getting one channel in the studio.
  6:24am
Sue:

Sounds ok to me I guess. Maybe this is a stupid question, but what do you mean by one channel? That's not where it comes from just one side and not the other, is it?
  6:26am
Joe:

Yes, exactly! On the Szabo record, I was just getting left channel in here. Maybe just a bum LP.
  6:28am
Sue:

Woah, is this the original Golden Earrings? Was Gandalf covering this song?
  6:29am
Jack:

Joe, sounds good to me too; good stereo signal. Hey, man, I've been really digging your show, and I'm glad you're on the new schedule... but 3AM!?! Damn, don't know if'n I can do that; might have to rely on the archives.
  6:29am
Joe:

Yup! Peggy Lee had the first big hit with it in the 40s. Gandalf really made it their own, though!
  6:30am
Joe:

Thanks, Jack! Yeah, it's a little bit of a switch, but I'm happy to hear that you'll check out the archives. I've been having a blast on Saturday mornings and expect it to continue during the graveyard shift!
  6:34am
Jack:

You always play such a great mix of music; great stuff! I'm glad Jeff's getting his old time slot back ( I've missed him ) but I'm going to miss you on Saturday (later) morning.
  6:38am
Joe:

Gee, thanks, Jack!
  6:39am
Sue:

I just heard the Koobas song "Gypsy Fred" the other day. Would have fit perfectly in your gypsy set this week. You did a short gypsy set last week, didn't you? I didn't realize there were so many songs about gypsies!
  6:42am
Joe:

Ack! What a good idea that would've been! Yes, I guess I've been into gypsy songs lately. Maybe more next week, including the Koobas!
  6:50am
Sue:

Cool, you can start your new time slot with another little gypsy set! Congratulations on your new show next week! Hopefully the time isn't too rough for you.
  6:52am
Joe:

Thanks, Sue! I guess like everything else a person can get used to it. I love doing this, so I don't mind so much when!
  6:57am
Sue:

Hey, a festive song in honor of the holiday! :) When you mentioned a Columbus day set last week, I thought you were joking! You have a song for every occasion, don't you?
  7:41am
Ogden Peepee:

I could really go for some Eskimo music right about now...
  8:02am
Scott:

Alex Chilton produced "Can't Hardly Wait"? That'll come as news to the late Jim Dickinson, who actually produced it. Otherwise, great show as always!
  8:08am
Joe:

I believe Alex produced an earlier version that came out as a bonus track on the reissue. Am I wrong about that?
  8:22am
Mike Sin:

I think there might be four versions of "Can't Hardly Wait" floating around as part of the official catalog now -- I can't keep up. Wasn't Chilton supposed tp produce "Tim", but left the project or some such?
  8:23am
Joe:

Hey, Mike! Looking forward to your fill-in later today! Yep, I believe he did actually produce about 4 tracks, but then he either left or got the boot. I don't know the full story.
