Hey cats, saw thee Oh Sees last night, every bit worth the hype. Very rockin show w/ wacky guitars and all--I have no idea what kind of 12 string that guy was playing but it sounded great. BUT, what stole the show (for me anyway) was the latest youth sub-culture craze: Tall Bikes, that's right. These crazy kids had two steel bikes welded one on top of the other, riding around 10 feet off the ground. Totally nuts. Have you all seen this up there?

yeah, that was the really interesting part. I waited around for the guys to come out, they just throw when leg up really high to get the foot on the peddle and jump. It seems to defy gravity.

Pat, I've talked to a couple of tall bikers lately. They feel they're less likely to go through a windshield from up there. Plus there's the benefit of being able to see over SUVs.

hi jason and posters! yeah dc pat, those double deckered bikes are going some over here in brighton uk too, amazing sight.
was down in dorset at the square and compass pub last weekend [www.squareandcompasspub.co.uk} for their beer and pumpkin fest, monsters weighing in at 360 pounds. the landlord informed me that last year they weighed in a 860 pounder!!!

The Washington Post has great pictures of a 650 lb pumpkin being dropped on an old junked car and exploding. Have to see if there's video.

As far as I'm aware they didn't show US-Honduras -- not as timely as bowling reruns. BTW, excellent that the 'FMU playlist has devolved into sport. So ... any guess on when Messi finally puts one on for the big A?

I made a variation. I took 1/2 a potroast, a can of diced tomatoes and a good amount of ground chipotle, garlic and salt and pepper. Then I made refried black beans and we had tacos. Sooooo goood.
