Listener comments!

  9:04am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Why did seven inch records typically have the big hole in the center. The standard size hole works just fine with a seven inch and obviously does not need any type of adapter. What possessed them to use the big hole?
  9:08am
postmanpaul:

hi jason - this is a lot of sound off little recuds.
ddgatgodawn - were'nt the big ones for juke box play?
personally, i've always prefered a choice of holes.
  9:10am
Parq:

Just did a quick google -- can you tell how I'm just dying to get to work? -- and PMP appears to be correct, the conv. wisdom is that the large hole was for jukebox access.
  9:15am
Tom:

who is this ghost rider and how did they get so good?
  9:16am
postmanpaul:

yeah, awesome start to the show - work is done for the day and i'm ready for a glass of red, a little smoke and yoooou jason!
  9:17am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Learn sumpin every day. Thanks.
  9:18am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

BTW, I am embarrassed to admit how often I get the math wrong when submitting a comment.
  9:21am
jason:

hey dum dum, pmp, tom, parq and lurkers, thanks for tunin in this morning i'm gonna be playing the HITS!!! got a stack of 7 million 7''s, more if you please. and i dont know much about the band ghost rider, that was one i found in the fmu library and it sounded damn good
  9:24am
Tom:

Same Ghost Rider that Liz played yesterday?
  9:25am
annie:

yay!! just in time!!
  9:25am
Ike:

Enjoying show.

What Parq said re: work.
  9:25am
postmanpaul:

as anyone seen my glasses?
  9:27am
jason:

i dont think so, tom. that was a band from myanmar and this band is on the AMerican Frequency label with no trace of burma
  9:28am
bw:

I like that you are putting 7" in the album field! hah
  9:34am
Tom:

Wow, two cool Ghost Rider bands in two days.
  9:39am
postmanpaul:

fuas tf, liirjppq lf lmi qqzd rth9!
  9:41am
Tom:

Just found today's Ghost Rider for $4.
  9:46am
PMD:

Mornin' all. I'd like to hear something by 7" please.
  9:46am
postmanpaul:

jason, this wicked piece reminds me of the unaccompanied tribal sing-song from the movie baraka.
  9:48am
postmanpaul:

surface scratches were once annoying untill i discovered wfmu!
  9:51am
Cecile:

hope everyone is having a good day.
I'm kind of at the crossroads. I can see it either getting better or turning into a cavalcade of suck.

this is an awesome piece

annie, how is the Absinthe World Tour going?
  9:52am
dc pat:

yeah, this Clair Obscur is making me feel good.
  9:57am
annie:

cecile, it was a wonderful trop to the big city of brooklyn.. she handed out over a hundred samples.. great turnout!!.. and the we had supper at a place called "the richardson".... wow... great food; good atmosphere. they also serve the ebsinthe there.. my trip ends tomorrow, i'm kindof back home but have to stay in town to get isa spayed.. then back to the hill wednesday am...in exchange for staying here i am cleaning her house.....
  9:57am
Cecile:

Medusa Cyclone!
yay.
I think Matt Smith from Outrageous Cherry did some stuff with them. or at least played on some bills with them.
  10:01am
Cecile:

oh, annie, that sounds wonderful. So cool!

Give Isa lots of pats and treats for me.

Say, my mind shouldn't be wandering in these directions, but is it against the law to have booze as a 'FMU premium? I'd kick in just to support your friend and help 'FMU if she donated a bottle or two of absinthe...
  10:11am
postmanpaul:

annie - that sounds a fair exchange, pats to isa from me too.
we are national striking on friday annie (sociologically a great british institution). have mixed feelings. but shit is coming down on us from high places.
  10:15am
annie:

pmp-yeah i figured it was imminent.. hope it has a good outcome. isa will be fine; i felt like a mom leaving her kid at the sitter for the first tine.. she will gets pats from all of you, thanks.... the hard part will be to keep her quiet enough to heal her wound. but i am going to be ready with the arnica, at least..
  10:20am
GP:

Morning all.
Annie, Get thee to Kalifornia and take Isa to one of those "clinics" that our president just said were cool. A prescription for you and one for Isa...everything will be good.
  10:21am
annie:

sounds like the perfect "cure", gp..
  10:22am
Peter Tosh:

legalize it.
  10:24am
Cecile:

Yeah, you'll have to put Isa in the "cone of shame".
  10:25am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

If WFMU were really edgy, it would have a week in which only ten inch records were used. Any fool can dredge up and spin a seven inch record. Poseurs.
  10:27am
I am NOT paranoid:

Jason,
Whats the word on the comment board? I know it was down for a bit yesterday for an upgrade. Are all of our comments now being sent to a 3-letter govt. agency for review and further action?

DDGATGOD: Make it 8-tracks and then we can wait for the tape to fast-forward to the good songs.
  10:28am
jason:

no reason to be paranoid, the comments (and other parts of the site) were down for a server upgrade
  10:28am
postmanpaul:

annmie - everything will be fine, don't worry!
i felt the same when my cairo street cat nefertiti was 'seen to' when i was living out in the wild wild east that is egypt. boy, did she put up a fight! but not before she produced two beautiful kittens (mini-me and rocky) before the op. unfortunately i had to leave them out there. that was the hardest part...
  10:31am
GP:

Phewww..was worried there for a minute ; ) Thanks Jason.
  10:32am
Cecile:

he obviously didn't sell his soul to the devil for musical talent, I'll tell you that.
  10:33am
PMD:

Hi annie - all will be fine with Isa...
so, if I stay at your place will you come down and clean MY house?
  10:37am
annie:

sure!! pmd...any time!! pmp- i feel your pain, i left four cats to new homes when i relocated here.. fortunately, the lady who took them is great....
  10:37am
postmanpaul:

presumably you are planning a vasectomy pmd! i'd have some of that absinthe ready annie...
  10:37am
GP:

Ha ha Cecile,

He sounds like someone else..is it Hasil Adkins? I don't know my brain is not working so good today.

This is still creepy..sounds like a David Lynch sound track.
  10:37am
jason:

phew!
  10:38am
Tom:

Bring back Nudge!
  10:39am
annie:

coming up pmp!!
  10:50am
postmanpaul:

gas central-heating has just gone down here, brrrrrrrrr. wish i was not so dependant on non-wood-log warmth!
  11:02am
Falco -hey remember us:

Alles klar der kommissar?
  11:09am
postmanpaul:

jason - i'm not tiring of hearing these hits again. btw, are they all covers?
  11:12am
jason:

PMP -- eisbar was a cover but i think that's it. borrowed time just sounds like the stooges
  11:12am
PMD:

PMP, hmmm... that might be kinda difficult.
  11:14am
postmanpaul:

pmd - ha! i should not have assumed...
  11:25am
GP:

Weird. head this same noise coming from my bathroom last night...did not want to look in there cause, well you know...zombies.
  11:30am

  11:46am

  11:46am
JT:

  11:46am
GP:

  11:51am
Cecile:

  11:55am
dc pat:

my friends must have every SST 45 LP ever issued...
  11:55am
Ike:
