Tue. 11/3/09 10:37am From: Tom

She played at Globalfest last year. To be honest I didn't think I'd like it, but she was really mesmerizing and by the end I was a convert.

Tue. 11/3/09 10:44am From: Carmichael

Morning Jason and everyone.

Tue. 11/3/09 10:48am From: Carmichael

OK, what's Thin Lizzy doing next to a Venetian Snares song? Were you Mr. Jokey Jokerton this morning??

Tue. 11/3/09 10:48am From: monica

hi jason, your show sounds great! loved the znr and morphine tracks.

Tue. 11/3/09 10:49am From: Cecile

aceyalone... like ac slater but lonely.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:04am From: barney

Aceyalone is pronounced like "A-C-Alone", not "Thin Lizzy"

Tue. 11/3/09 11:06am From: Ike

Damn, I missed Morphine! Anyway, this show is an excellent soundtrack to voting for the lesser of two (or several) evils. Who else voted this morning?

Tue. 11/3/09 11:07am From: Carmichael

Ha ha, I just noticed Game Theory in the opening set. I knew all of them pretty well, many years ago. Are they still alive?? Just saw the keyboard player about a month ago out of the blue.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:09am From: stingy d

what are you voting for?

Tue. 11/3/09 11:10am From: doug from DC

I always thought of Game Theory as the first alt-rock band, in the sense which that term came to be used later on.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:10am From: stingy d

or uh.... about

Tue. 11/3/09 11:14am From: dc pat

YES, now THIS is Thin Lizzy!

Tue. 11/3/09 11:15am From: Carmichael

I'm just surprised Scott Miller (Game Theory singer) ever amounted to anything. He tried hard to piss off just about everyone.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:17am From: Bad Ronald

Hey Jason et al... Loving this set, thanks!

Tue. 11/3/09 11:18am From: dc pat

I'm with Bad Ron.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:19am From: stingy d

just as well, i don't give a shit about voting.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:24am From: doug from DC

Didn't know much about Scott Miller's personal issues. I suppose REM was really the first alt-rock, but the era of bands trying to sound like REM was passing around the time Big Shot Chronicles came out.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:24am From: Carmichael

That's cool, Stingy. Just remember, you can't complain about things.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:25am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

what's wrong with voting and potentially impacting your quality of life, however minutely it may be?

Tue. 11/3/09 11:27am From: Raf

Hey Jason, just sneaking in for the last little bit of the show.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:29am From: stingy d

on the contrary, i can complain about everything, and probably will. i just can't care about stuff, and probably won't. and there is nothing wrong with voting. i'm all for it. i think it's cute.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:29am From: doug from DC

I vote in Virginia, and I'm gonna have to take off early if I want to vote for Creigh Deeds. But he doesn't stand a chance, so I don't know if it's worth it. Still, I'll feel guilty if I don't try and stop McDonnell.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:30am From: still b/p

98 volumes of Khmer Rocks to hear,
98 volumes of Khmer...

Tue. 11/3/09 11:32am From: Cecile

nice...!

Tue. 11/3/09 11:35am From: Carmichael

Whoa. They recorded for Deram?!?!? Must have been in the Eric Bell days ....

Tue. 11/3/09 11:35am From: Joe

Great Thin Lizzy song, Jason!

Tue. 11/3/09 11:40am From: dc pat

holy crap! I missed it.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:42am From: Raf

Keep hearing about these Tusk Lords, great to finally hear some. Reminds me of old Jeweled Antler stuff. Neat.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:45am From: jason

hey Raf! Tusk Lord is very eclectic, consistently awesome, check out the stuff on the FMA

Tue. 11/3/09 11:47am From: dc pat

aaah, this court music stuff rules.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:53am From: Raf

Yeah, that gagaku track really blew my mind! Any recommendations for further listening, Jason?

Tue. 11/3/09 11:54am From: dc pat

Raf: compare that stuff to the court music of Henry VIII. Total different universes.

Tue. 11/3/09 11:57am From: Ike

Got distracted by work so I couldn't educate Stingy about voting. Thanks to Carm and DDG for trying but it's probably futile. And take those marbles out of your mouth before trying to say I'm cute, sweetie.

Also, had to run away when Thin Lizzy came on but I love that Ram Gopal.

Tue. 11/3/09 12:00pm From: Raf

Mata La Pena is indeed a Mississippi release. I think it's pretty good!
