jeeze, Abner Jay and Joe Spence in one show. That sounds like a good place to start 2010.
  1:18pm
Cecile:

I'm sure you've thought that out to death, though.

Thanks for the Joseph Spence, Maria!
  1:23pm
annie:

i have mixed feelings, actually cecile.. yes, i have and i still struggle with what the hell i am going to do now.. staying here is ok, but i really have to pay my own way and i'm not.. and i yearn for a place where what i do makes a contribution
  1:28pm
Cecile:

I think helpring with a great, unique artisanal product is a cool contribution.

And I imagine you've given a lot in your life. It's not such a horrible thing to let the wheel of karma let you accept some gifts.

But then again, if it were me, I'd probably be restless too. I can't believe I've been in the same town or job for os long.
  1:33pm
annie:

it's funny, she will be doing well enough by spring to pay me, but this is getting old, sleeping on the couch and i don't have any of my books here with me.. isa misses her woods.. blah blah blah
  1:36pm
Cecile:

Yeah, you want to be home.
Hrm. Maybe getting out of town IS the answer.
  1:36pm

Best wishes for 2010 from France!

Matthew in Stroud, UK:

This is such great music to sit at my desk and work to! Really lovely sequence. The Blanketship track is something I'll have to chase up, and I'll have to listen to the archive for the Joseph Spence track that I missed. And the Bohannon... But it's getting near suppertime at the end of a long day ... must go and stick curry in oven.
  2:24pm
Cecile:

How is that Larry Levan disc? I've been curious about it.
  2:28pm

I'm not sure how I've missed this version from Third World.... haha
  1:32pm
Henry:

Oh Ms. Maria! Third World is taking me back to my high school job at Disc Records at the mall in Cleveland Heights. A scant few years before I met you. Formative stuff. Now you just have to play What You Won't Do For Love to make the reverie complete. Plus many bong hits. Hope you're well. Henry T
