SmokinJ:

Michael: Spring WAS here all week (60's) but alas today it's been snowing for hours. Had to take the car instead of the bike today :(
  11:10am
glenn storey:

you play all this great stuff i've never heard before.
  11:13am
SmokinJ:

Send it here. I''ve salvaged many a DAT tape. Still have 4 machines in the rack if you need dubs.
  11:14am
noisejoke:

What the heck is 5ive Style? This is amazing!
  11:16am
Michael Shelley:

Made one amazing album & 45 on SubPop & one pretty good one on SubPop. Always blows my mind...
  11:17am
Michael Shelley:

J- what;'s yer address?
  11:18am
SmokinJ:

I'll hit you off list.
  11:19am
paul:

No Todd today. Very nice.
  11:21am
noisejoke:

Thanks M - that rings a bell now. What an amazing sound. Can't believe a modern band achieved such and old fashioned recording. Tuneful, plus Beefheart, plus a Zep lick!
  11:22am
Michael S:

also - no effects on the guitar - an SG straight into an amp
  11:25am
SmokinJ:

The way God intended... :)
  11:30am
noisejoke:

Let's not bring religion into this. Good thing I can't attach a pic of my fx rig. But, yes a nice gonky tone. Our new dog is named Gibson, btw.
  11:36am
SmokinJ:

Yes! 'Good Thing' sez Paul Revere..
  11:39am
paul:

No Box Tops or Big Star? I did like the opening AC number.
  11:42am
Parq:

Saw Camera Obscura on their most recent swing thru Brooklyn. They're tight and they play well, but they don't vary much from the recorded versions and they're not very interesting to watch. Guess it's a fans-only thing.
  11:47am
MS:

Parq - I saw them before I'd ever heard their cds, & was amazed how catchy the songs were. In any case - that recording = #1 hit.
  11:47am
Parq:

Thanks, by the way, for enlightening us on the story behind those Betsy-Mike spots during 'thon. Always did like them; they have a kind of Lambert-Henrdicks-Ross quality. Or maybe I'm just blissed out coz it's Saturday.
  11:54am
?:

No Todd today. Very nice.

  11:56am
Julie B:

ah hahaha that box of oreos is still sitting in the kitchen, isn't it. And darnit I didn't grab any..
  11:56am
Jane Doe:

Ah, go ahead and eat your cookies. I had pie for breakfast.
  11:57am
Michael S:

No name calling please.
  12:00pm
Parq:

Michael, not for nothing, but there's probably as much nutrition in a pack of oreos as there is in a commercially sold corn muffin.
  12:03pm
noisejoke:

Michael - I'm gonna buy one of the 5ive style releases (sigh, don't even know what to call it anymore). Which is the one you consider "amazing?"
