Listener comments!

  3:44am
steve:

So ya biting the head off of your chocolate jesus candy?
  3:46am
Joe:

Only my chocolate jesus really satisfies!
  3:48am
steve:

Well...great to see someone else also working on this Cristian holiday. Thanks!
  3:50am
Joe:

Hey, my pleasure. Think of WFMU as your electric church this morning.
  3:55am
steve:

Amen, Rev. Joe!
  3:56am
Joe:

Hear the Word, my brother!
  4:35am
steve:

Hey Joe...just a thought. Any Nick Lowe? After all, he was the Jesus of Cool.
  4:38am
Joe:

Ha ha. I love Nick, but he's not the Jesus I have in mind today. On the other hand, he is truly a rock god. Brinsley Schwarz didn't record any Jesus material, did they?
  4:41am
steve:

Not that I knew of. On the other hand, wasn't Nick married to one of Johnny Cash's daughters? That is as close to God as you can get.
  4:42am
Joe:

God AND the Devil!
  5:06am
(mta) Tony:

Happy Easter, Joe. May I suggest a song for you? If you're not familiar with it, it's great: JOHN EDDIE on his WHO THE HELL IS JOHN EDDIE? album, song: JESUS IS COMING. It's 05:18. It'll be worth the trouble picking it out.
  5:12am
Joe:

Hey, MTA Tony, Happy Easter! I'll take a run into the library and see if I can find it. Can't promise, but I'll give it a go.
  5:14am
FST:

I'm a music addict. Where can I find a cure?
  5:16am
Joe:

Listen to 5 Billy Joel records in a row. Then sin no more.
  5:21am
Sue:

Hey, Reverend Joe,... I had no idea you were a holy man! Happy Easter!
  5:23am
Joe:

Yes, sometimes I lapse and go to the devil, but today I stand close to the Lord. No one gonna turn me 'round!
  5:26am
Sue:

That's the spirit, Joe! Fight temptation! As for me, I'm happy in darkness
  5:27am
Joe:

Don't worry, Sue, I'll show you the Light.
  5:31am
Sue:

No way, man. But I think I can lead you astray,... heh heh heh...
  5:35am
Joe:

Not me! I'm perched on the holy rock. I will not be moved.
  5:36am
Sue:

No fun. I will tempt you another day :P
  5:37am
Joe:

;)
  5:39am
Sue:

Well, it certainly looks like the grace of God is with you today. I'm glad I caught your sermon/service today. Got any Easter plans?
  5:40am
Joe:

Yes, I'm going to eat a rabbit.
  5:42am
Sue:

Nice. I didn't realize that was part of Christian tradition. It all makes sense now!
  5:44am
Joe:

Maybe I'll just put on my Easter bonnet and march in the Easter Parade down 5th Avenue.
  5:46am
Sue:

There's an idea. And it's supposed to be all nice out, too. You have an Easter bonnet?
  5:47am
Joe:

Well, it's more of a sombrero. Don't you have one?
  5:48am
Sue:

No, man. I need to get me one of those!
  5:51am
Sue:

By the way, amazing playlist
  5:53am
Joe:

Thanks, Sue. :)
  5:55am
Sue:

Happy Easter, Jesus Joe!!
  4:15pm
Mike Sin:

I rolled out bed of this morning, let the Electric Prunes' "Mass In F Minor" hit the speakers, then rolled your archive... Tom Jones covering Ashton, Gardner and Dyke probably two minutes after the track fell from the charts?! I'd never heard that previously!
  3:41am
slugluv1313:

HAPPY HAPPY (belated!) EASTER! was listening to your show -- just was *not* able to add comment at the time :( . . . but omg -- LARRY NORMAN!!!!! i had not heard him since freshman year in college (1977-1978); my roommate had his records! she is still one of my best friends EVER, so OF COURSE i am going to send her the link to this playlist -- even though i am sure she is no longer listening to Larry Norman records! . . . and YES i totally remember Sister Janet Mead ROCKIN' OUT to "The Lord's Prayer" and Tom Jones' *unique* take on "Resurrection Shuffle"! thanks so much for a great EASTER show!
  5:07pm
Joe M.:

Hey, Mike and slugluv1313--Glad you dug the Tom Jones. It was the one song I wasn't sure I was going to play since it's not about THAT resurrection, but once I got it on the turntable, I wasn't sorry. If he hadn't had such a big hits with "It's Not Unusual" and "What's New Pussycat," Tom Jones would have become one of the fiercest white soul singers ever!
