Cecile:

Hi, all!

annie! Need an update!
  10:12am
annie:

cecile!! everywhere i look i see or smell the ocean. the terrain is rugged and trees are mostly stunted from weather; which isn't to say there are some pretty tall ones, they just show signs of tough conditions through the decades. they are burning the blueberry fields this week, and i volunteered at the soup kitchen yesterday, washing dishes. very community-minded people. and i actually attended the congregational church service sunday. at the end, they carried a newborn lamb down and around the pews to be patted. feeling out the job prospects and places to live situation this week..
  10:21am
Cecile:

that sounds kind of magical.
I've been so wound up at work that I've been playing the AOL nature sounds radio station.
Waves crashing. To be around them sounds heavenly.

Ah, and real wild blueberries! Just like home.

It sounds like it's a good fit! *crosses fingers*
  10:26am
annie:

i hope so cecile..
  10:29am
Duckhugger:

Greetings from Japan. Tuning in for some late night listening (11:28 PM here) although I suppose it's early morning for the rest o'er your way.
  10:29am
Cecile:

The thing is to figure out fast how the small town cliques operate - then you can navigate, join or smash through as needed - which I'm sure you have tons of experience doing!
  10:33am
jason:

thanks for checking in, Duckhugger! Yep, it's almost a 12-hour difference here in Jersey City
  10:35am
annie:

yewbetcha!! my feelers are out and sensing the dramas already, but i think that it's all do-able. i'm already being told by some that fresh blood is welcome and encouraged. already have hooked into some of the women's groups and farmers with fresh veggies and meat
  10:37am
Cecile:

That's great, annie!

Good very early morning, duckhugger!
  10:42am
dc pat:

yer handle should be "Duckchugger"...funny.
  10:44am
Carmichael:

Good morning, all. Annie, you sure dove right into the middle of your new community! Good luck to you.
  10:46am
Duckhugger:

My handle has been "Duckhugger" since 1997... but yes... WFMU's early morning programming is meshing well with my late-night mood. A good soundtrack to get work done to before passing out in a booze induced slumber.
  10:50am
annie:

carm, if i can help it, i let grass grow beneath my feet, to coin the phrase.. and attending the new volunteer meeting at the radio station this saturday
  10:51am
annie:

hahaha.. that came out all wrong.. too funny to even try to correct.. you get the drift. grass, schmass..
  10:52am
dc pat:

I'd like to hug ducks too. Amazing animals..
  10:53am
fishmonkeystew:

  10:54am

  10:58am
