Listener comments!

  9:11am
annie:

yassah
  9:25am
annie:

i had a job this am; she called to postpone it til tomorrow. so, it's an unexpected joy for me to be able to hear the show.!!
  9:27am
Rob W:

Ah, the joys of being a freelancer. I'm happy because I have a job this week where I can listen because I'm working at home! Although I should really be working, not writing comments...
  9:36am
dc pat:

boo.
  9:36am
Julien:

jean is from quebec!
  9:40am
dc pat:

bike what?! What month? How'd I miss that one?
  9:41am
bobw:

hey DC pat, i didn't gloat! but now that you said boo... ah, i still won't gloat! battlestar halaktica!!!! ;)
  9:45am
Cecile:

annie, awesome. A JOB! nice.
  9:47am
Cecile:

Rob W., you're processing billable thoughts by communing with us.
  9:49am
Rob W:

Indeed!
  9:49am
dc pat:

the Canadiens cheated. How can you have a decent hockey game if the goalie WON'T LET THE OTHER TEAM SCORE??

Nah, they won fare and square. Now I can go back to hating hockey..
  9:52am
bobw:

bike month - just do a web search. apparently, it's not just bike month in nyc, but it's "national bike month." and i'm as shocked as anyone how the habs won the series vs the caps. it was the most improbable series - i still think that i'm dreaming it.
  9:52am
Cecile:

Did the Canadiens win? Good for them. Poutine for all!
  9:54am
Cecile:

Ok, dc pat. What is the deal with the DC giant pizza slice? It's nothing special, right? It's just a really big piece of pizza...we were watching Food Wars and turned it off because who cares about giant pizza?
  9:55am
Rob W:

We have very large slices of pizza at Benny Tudino's in Hoboken. Just so you know.
  9:58am
Cecile:

But you don't have camera crews piling up to tape the food wars, right? I mean, jeez. Just because a lot of rich, drunken Georgetown students like 'em doesn't mean they're newsworthy, right? Or am I naive?

Aw, man what a great tribute to the brilliant Booka Shade!
  9:59am
Cecile:

Ah, it's a remix of Booka Shade's Mandarine Girl. Still a great job.
  10:00am
bobw:

did they win? i'd say that their goalie committed grand larceny in the last three games! halak faced 134 shots and only let in 3. i had pizza something like 4 times last week, including an amazing pie at pizza gruppo on ave. b (11th/12th), which featured caramelized onions and fresh basil. gruppo is probably one of the best pies in nyc. light on the cheese, thin crust, heavy on the flavor.
  10:01am
Rob W:

Actually what we always thought was a very run of the mill bakery in Hoboken is now featured on a TV show - and people do line up down the block to go in! It's very weird. Carlos' Bakery, as seen on Food Boss on TLC.
  10:02am
Cecile:

I had a brilliant white pizza at Pizza Nea with smoked mozzarella and roasted portobellos. So woodsy and great.

Rob, your run of the mill East Coast bakery is like manna out here. But still, I understand.
  10:03am
Cecile:

The Shifty Listeners!
  10:06am
Rob W:

Thanks Cecile. By the way, for the TV show - misprinted the title; I meant "Cake Boss". But the real gems in Hoboken I think are the Italian bread bakeries whereas Carlo's is, well, mainly for cakes and pastries. Anyway I really must get back to work though. I'm not billing by the hour - it's by the minute of edited audio! And if you only knew the horrible dreck I'm editing right now... By the way Bob, enjoying the show as always! Go Habs.
  10:06am
dc pat:

Cecile: pretty much right, huge disgusting pizza for when you're on your way home from a show. BUT, one night I got a big slice and it was actually really good. Just once though, usually it's awful. That smoked mozzarella pie sounds great.
  10:06am
Cecile:

Oh, god, BobW.
Another "Life imitates 'The Shield'" moment.
  10:07am
Cecile:

Ah, dcp, it's like DC White Castle burgers, then.

Happy working, Rob!
  10:09am
dc pat:

in a way, yeah. just a gimmick. But people look really funny eating them. Like they were shrunk a little bit...
  10:12am
Cecile:

Nice! LOL!

It's like the year I made mini-pumpkin pies for my friends for T-day. One guy went, "I feel like a giant eating this!"
  10:13am
Cecile:

bobw, do you have some actual Booka Shade in the studio? That would slot in pretty good...
  10:20am
bobw:

i'm sure that there is some booka shade here somewhere... but once i get into the studio, i rarely leave. i'll check on line.
  10:21am
Cecile:

thanks!
  10:44am
annie:

stupid internet connection keeps cutting out... have to reset the stupid winamp each time.. .. haha, good morning all..
  10:57am
dc pat:

MMM is amazing.
  10:58am
dc pat:
