Wow- theoretical girls. Great show!
UT is pronounced like butt (minus b & final t). How do I know? Nina Canal-1/3 of UT lived in my building for a few years.
  11:20pm
Martha:

Awesome - thanks for the pronunciation information - I always wanted to pronounce it as though it rhymed w/ gut, as in their great album "In Gut's House," so I guess I was kind of on the right track there - I did see them once ages ago in Boston and they were awesome. Now, if you can tell me how to pronounce Ronnie James Dio's last name I will be forever thankful -
  11:43pm
slugluv1313:

oooo i LOVE UT! so cool to hear them on the radio . . . still have their 45 (an EP, i think? on Lust/UnLust???) AND a Theoretical Girls 45 (or two!) . . . i shall have to check out this Soul Jazz collection though, sounds WAY cool/comprehensive . . . !
  11:54pm
lucy:

yeah, gut...I missed my cue on that. gut, but, butt. Did get to see many UT shows free as a teen at that time. & early Chatham, Branca...I am flashing back to The Kitchen and CBs. I did not have enough money for records so my first and ongoing exposure was live. But did hang at apartments loaded with vinyl so I was not too deprived of that tactile, aural and visual experience. Did not realize how lucky I was.
Do not know how RJ Dio is pronounced. Not surprised if it is die-o as in death...
  12:19am
Martha:

Amazing experience - live is best anyway, and to have been around everyone at the time - awesome - thanks for the insights -
