I N V I S I B L E ! !
  9:40am

First of all, the background is brown. Something is wrong with your browser my friend. But I've changed the text to appease you. Better?
  9:41am
Cecile:

I love you Hatch.
Don't tell Ken.
  9:42am

archives rock
  10:12am
Cecile:

I think it might just be easier.
She gets paid, and she doesn't have to deal with inventory.
Not the way I'd go, but at least you can still find it...
  10:13am
Cecile:

it's pronounced Lolita!

But YAYAYAYAY!
  10:14am
Cecile:

I had this record as a 16 year old from the Columbia Record Club, but I got it too young. I didn't understand why it didn't have bigger beats, or whatever. I didnt' know anything about life or good singing. I sold it. I kick myself a lot.
  10:15am
Hatch:

It's pretty easy to find if you want to get it back in your life.
  10:16am
Cecile:

I just ordered a used CD from Amazon.
  10:18am
Cecile:

HELL YEAH.
Loleatta!

Hatch, can you slip in "Burn Rubber" from the Gap Band?
  10:27am
annie:

doug is sad he can't be here either..
  10:28am
Hatch:

Cecile I have waaaay too many things to play as it is, not gonna get around to Gap Band this time. Sorry!
  10:29am
Cecile:

LOL! this is perfectly ridonkulous stuff I used to hear on Detroit radio all the time.
  10:31am
Cecile:

It's cool, Hatch!

You do need to be back on the fall schedule, though. :D
  10:32am
max:

just tuning in now, thank god there's another hour and a 1/2 left, you better be planning on doing a lot of fill-ins this summer!
  10:33am
Hatch:

I will be doing as many fill-ins as I can Max. Haven't said no to one yet.
  10:34am
Cecile:

OBIE
  10:35am
max:

excellent, hope that trend continues :)
  10:35am
Edgar:

too early for this kind of party. wuup.
  10:36am
annie:

there has to be an alternative FMU-niverse to make room for all the great deejays and music we want for fall line-up.
  10:38am
Wendy del Formaggio:

Awwright! Hatch is on the air! Perfect waking-up music. Hatch, I'm working today so stop by and get some fromage if you have time!
  10:39am
Hatch:

Good morning Wendy! I will see you and your cheese very soon.
  10:39am
max:

Shogun Assassin! that movie is sooo badass, I'm gonna have to watch it now
  10:41am
Carmichael:

Good morning Hatch and Leute auf Der Welt.
  10:42am
Tim:

Hell yeah! I saw Omar Souleyman in Chicago last night. It was fantastic!
  10:43am
Hatch:

Auf weiderhesen. Weinerschnitzel. Spaten. Ya vol.
  10:43am
doug in dc:

I'm bummed that my ride to NYC fell through. I was looking forward to seeing Souleyman and Tinariwen in Central Park.
  10:48am
max:

doug, that sucks! but it seems like a Souleyman/Tinariwen concert in the park is something that could easily happen again in NYC anytime, however neither acts will ever be anywheres close to where I live so count yourself lucky for the opportunity.
  10:51am
doug in dc:

I'll probably see Tinariwen tonight at the 9:30 Club. Tix are kinda pricey, but I think it will be worth it.
  10:52am
max:

sounds awesome, hope you can make that one
  10:53am
Tuffz McGruff:

Sounds like somebody didn't have his sugar milk this morning...
  10:53am
hamburger:

from my starbucks training: black coffee = americano
  10:54am
hamburger:

"an espresso, for americans" :>
  10:58am
Carmichael:

black coffee = Hi-Test
  11:01am
doug in dc:

Coffee + shot of expresso: my hi-test. Whether you call it a red eye or a depth charge.
  11:02am
Hatch:

Coffee + nothing (except maybe ice) = perfect
  11:05am
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hatch, that's my philosophy on tea, too. Occasionally I'll put a blurp of half-and-half in a very black hot tea, but the majority of the time, I just want leaves steeped in water over ice, neat!
  11:07am
Hatch:

I'm going to start ordering my coffee "neat," that's a fabulous idea Wendy.
  11:10am
Cecile:

Wendy - I have to talk about this amazing cheese I had. It was a Cheshire cheese that tasted like not only cheddar and sharpness, but carrots!
  11:13am
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hatch, glad to help! :-)
Cecile, I'm not surprised! Some clothbound cheddars taste like horseradish, even though no horseradish was used in the making of the cheese. Do you remember the maker of the Cheshire? Was it Appleby's? Anyway, I'm signing off so I can get ready to go monger the cheese, so email me at cheesesnobwendy at gmail dot com if you wanna discuss further :-)
  11:14am
max:

I'm gonna be hitting some record stores later today, can anyone on here recommend me anything to pick up?
  11:15am
Hatch:

I had the BEST cheese at Applebee's.
  11:16am
Cecile:

No, it began with a C or a G. I don't have it here.
The cheesemonger said these cheeses are just like wintages of wines - no two wheels are alike.
  11:16am
Hatch:

Max: ever heard this record called Thriller?
  11:17am
Cecile:

that new pre-Family Stone Sly compilation on Ace. It's awesome.
  11:24am
Mike East:

I just got Maureen Tucker's "Dogs Under Stress" from 1994 which puts a smile on my face
  11:24am
Drummer Some:

Morning Hatch!
  11:24am
Aaron:

Listen to Wendy - OOO she is wise!
  11:25am
Cecile:

"Lovingly f'd up by Mike Rep"
  11:26am
Bobo:

Wow, I remember when Princess Wendy the Cheese Snob used to thwak! me on the behind in our sessions! and she always washed her hands afterwards, so cheese lovers, no worry.....
  11:28am
max:

Hatch; Yeah, I've got Thriller (I think there are probably about 3 copies of it in my house cause of my parents) but I haven't listened to it much so I guess I should give it another listen
  11:30am
Cecile:

Ooh. Get Soul Makossa by Manu Dibango. Play it back to back with "Want to Be Starting something"
  11:32am
Nat:

whoa, 00s Lali Puna sounds exactly like 70s 80s Deux.
  11:34am
max:

Cecil: thanks, that looks pretty cool. I don't think the store has a very big collection of Cameroonian disco but I will look
  11:36am
Cecile:

It might just show up on some dance hits comp. It was a huge worldwide hit.
  11:42am
Cecile:

Wow. I love this. I'm such a sucker for mid-tempo 80s funk.
  11:43am
max:

ok I'll be sure to check the "world music" 1$ bin and look for dance comps. Which I should be doing anyways
  11:48am
jeff-m:

@ Nat, yeah thought that was Lali Puna myself
  11:52am
Hatch:

You guys are kidding right? I have never heard a Lali Puna song that was 10% that good. Maybe I'm just a snob. Actually more than maybe. :)
  11:52am
max:

just found this, thought someone else may be interested in this: http://noiseease.tumblr.com/post/240494178/0065

EyE DJ mix
  11:55am
annie:

hatch, it was sheer joy to hear you today!! .. please keep up posted on your next show!!
  11:57am
Nat:

yeah, I wasn't making a qualitative comparison. More like Lali Puna is ripping off Deux.
  11:57am
Hatch:

Thanks Annie! I'll be back on Monday actually. More details during the final mic break.
  12:00pm
annie:

bottling monday... hope it's after 3pm...
  12:01pm
max:

excellent show Hatch, made my morning!
  12:02pm
annie:
