Cecile:

Oh, nice. I never got to see them live
  12:48pm
Cecile:

Oh! Play Scream
  12:48pm
Dax de la Monta:

A couple questions, maybe best for Tesco:
1. Usually people think of Detroit or Ann Arbor when they think Michigan music; Lansing (my hometown) seems to have a hard time sustaining a music scene -- I'd like to hear what it was like operating in that town at the time. (The audio clips from the Crucifucks' LP paint a funny picture of dodging the police and popping up on the local news.)
2. I'd like to know some more about Blight -- how it came about and what the reaction was. Thanks!
  12:48pm
paul b.:

Black Market Baby yeah! Oh and playing Void if you have any I know Brian Turner has some -- seconded
  12:48pm
Jay in Chicago:

I've been looking forward to this show since reading about it in this month's Blast Of Air newsletter, and not even 50 minutes in it's exceeding my expectations.

  12:53pm
Todd 76%:

@Dax: You need to get Tony's book "Why Be Something That You're Not" - it goes into detail on the development of the MI/northwesternOH scene, including Lansing.
  12:55pm
medea:

tsol
  12:56pm
dc pat:

G.I. at the Black Cat...
  12:57pm
Chicago Chris:

PAGANS from Cleveland. What's This Shit Called Love? for Mister Vee..........
  12:57pm

Yeah, die kreuzen, cows and beer
  12:57pm

  1:02pm
tim:

Tesco,

Could you please tell a classic Dick Bowser story?
  1:03pm
Andrew Barker:

@Todd 76% - thanks for the Graven Image link. I'll take a listen after the show. Yes it's me from GST and Melts and now playin' guitar and with Hallux.
  1:09pm
mike:

how were the McDonalds (the band)?
  1:09pm
Joel Gausten:

What is Tesco favorite part of the new T&G book? Is there anything that Tesco write in the original T&G zine that he now regrets - either positive or negative?
  1:10pm
Joel Gausten:

Wow...I suck at speed typing!
  1:16pm
Cecile:

City Club was a great place.
  1:17pm
Todd 76%:

@Andrew B - It's cool how many free jazz/ improv players have an affinity for or even experience in the hardcore punk scene. The experimental band I 've played in for years, the hat city intuitive, played with GST years ago in Dumbo. I've seen you play drums several times since. Great stuff, man!
  1:18pm
Another DS:

Tesco,
Would you please say, "Shostakovich!" in your best N. Roof voice?
  1:31pm
Todd 76%:

Ask Paul about Steeples and Wingate deliberately melting copies of "Let's Barbeque" on the dashboard while hangin' in Jack's van. It seemed like very few bands/scenesters took it that seriously back then.
Ask Tesco why he hates the French...and thank him for all the great music, writing, and laughs over the years.
  1:38pm
Tom Sawyer:

How about playing "Crippled Children Suck" or anything off the 1st record.
  1:44pm
D:

Tony-what is the name of your book?
  1:48pm
Joel Gausten:

Best show ever.
  1:53pm

John, when is the Laughing Hyenas book gonna come out?

  2:06pm
Harold:

Brannon Rules!
  2:06pm
minnesota jeff:

That conversation was great!
  2:09pm
Jay in Chicago:

Great conversation.
Now that you're back into music, how 'bout some N.O.T.A.?
  2:10pm

  2:45pm
brendan:

what a great show today! i can remember getting the BUY OUR Records phone# out of an East Coast Rocker when I was 14. We called up asking why "Paul's Not Home". Of course, the guy from A.O.D didn't find it funny...and it wasn't.
Also, may I say, I miss City Gardens.
  2:49pm
Ronald Reagan:

There you go again! Making fun of me and Nancy. Tell that Paul Richard to "tear down those pants"!
  2:50pm
rosh:

  2:54pm
Tom Lyle:

Great show. Didn't chime in before because I would have had to remind you to mention that DC bands were much better and had much more interesting tales to tell. Just sayin'. Hi everyone!!!
  2:54pm
Cecile:

dcp: My husband's Joes would be flying out of a second story window in their helicopter. Also, beating up his sister's Ken doll.
