Really liked last set's Goulasch.
Saw Slovak Soul Party last week, then spotted a member at Folk Festival elsewhere in state. But he said fest reps frowned on non-participant pick-up performance attempt.
  1:19pm
still b/p:

That's SLAVIC Soul Party.

  2:07pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

Man I feel stupid when I get those arithmetic questions wrong!
  2:07pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

I feel your pain Dale.
  2:12pm
Dale from North Dakota:

The daily commute is why I left the big city 30 years ago... my commute here, to my office "on the other side of town", is only ten minutes. Twelve during rush hour, lol.
  2:16pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

Yeah, that's the good part of small town life. I just moved to Whitehorse from Vancouver 7 months ago. So far I've been pretty stoked about the experience but about a week ago I was at the library. It's got a pretty small selection and I got this funny feeling like, Holy shit, I'm in the middle of no-where.
  2:17pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

nowhere I mean
  2:23pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

Wow, what a 10 Yes! song!
  2:23pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Todd, you totally are!
  2:24pm
Dale from North Dakota:

That's what amazon.ca and ebooks are all about. Though the library here is pretty good.
  2:25pm
pat:

Cool tune selection. Enjoying it in Columbus, OH.
  2:25pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

Yes the nearest town of any size is Fort Nelson and it's 978 kilometers away.
  2:27pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

A lot of books are out of print though and not available as e-books either. Although I took the library for granted 90% of the time when I did live in the city.
  2:27pm
Ben:

That's was a terrible cover of T-Rex
  2:27pm
Dale from North Dakota:

I've got Winterpeg about two hours north and Minneapolis about five hours south. So, slightly better concert/cultural situation here, though it's still a bit of a haul. And culture in both places isn't quite NYC, lol
  2:29pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Can you get interlibrary loan there? Used to be able to get just about anything through the library that way, and free, but that was a lot of years ago.
  2:31pm
Todd in Whitehorse:

You can but it's the Yukon Library! The population of the Yukon is 34,246 and 25,000 live in Whitehorse!
  2:37pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Doh! Well, you're right, a library is a wonderful resource you don't miss until you don't have one...

On topic, Tamara, that Bongos song reminded me of Dramarama, who I haven't heard in forever. Any of that around?
  2:43pm
still b/p:

The simple act of renewing a library book, and then renewing it AGAIN this week, felt like such good fortune in an otherwise stingy and constricted world.
  2:44pm
