yo Hatch what up
  12:05pm
Hatch:

good day to you, Max
  12:06pm
Marco D Argento:

Hey HATCHMAN!
  12:07pm
andy t:

hello from the yookay.
  12:08pm
Hatch:

hello UK
  12:24pm
max:

hey Hatch & wfmu listeners, are there any new albums out this year I need check out? I was sorta waiting for that panda bear record to come out, but who knows whenever that will actually happen, and I have yet to get any new albums this year and I feel I should, any recommendations?
  12:27pm
Hatch:

I like the Big Boi record and the Ty Segall record... both of which you'll hear later.
  12:30pm
Matt:

I hear the new John Mellencamp record is exquisite.
  12:32pm
Ilya:

Hello! What day will Sonic Youth be broadcasted? Thanks
  12:34pm
marq:

horror movies and this time of year. My fav time, too. September. In Vermont it is nice. swimming in the daytime. sweaters and fires at night. Watched Nosferatu in its entirety for the first time. Very creepy especially since it is so old.
  12:36pm
max:

Tom Scharpling has been pimping that Ty Segall all year, and I should probably expand my hip hop horizons, so I think Ill probably check both those out, thanks Hatch
  12:36pm
max:

Ilya, the sonic youth broadcast was yesterday
  12:37pm
Ilya:

oh, God. I missed. Thank you, max. Do you have a record from perfomance?
  12:41pm
zoot:

Marq, I hope you saw Nosferatu with the Silent Orchestra music. They are a contemporary duo that is quite amazing. I believe their soundtrack is available on some DVDs. They also perform live with the movie - truly thrilling.
  12:44pm
Matt:

Has anyone ever watched VAMPYR while playing John Mellencamp's MR. HAPPY-GO-LUCKY on repeat? It's eerie, how well it syncs up.
  12:45pm
Derek:

Listening in Cork Ireland Hatch great stuff!!!!!!
  12:46pm
max:

Ilya, I didnt record it but heres the playlist: http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/37200 I think some of the performances are going to end up being archived or put on the free music archive, but some arent, do hopefully sonic youths one will be
  12:48pm
Hatch:

I haven't tried that yet Matt. I'll have to watch my Vampyr Blu-Ray with my audiophile SACD copy of the Mellencamp album.
  12:52pm
Mike East:

Checking in from work today on a gorgeous afternoon
  12:55pm
Matt:

You know why I like you, Hatch? Because, like myself, you are a connoisseur of all things quality.

Have you tried syncing VAMPYR to the SACD of Donald Fagen's MORPH THE CAT? It works pretty good, too.
  12:58pm
andy t:

listening to the Vampyr soundtrack while looking at a 'Donald Fagen' google image search is a chilling experience.
  1:03pm
Hatch:

Personally I think MORPH goes better with a Blu-Ray of the Miami Vice movie.
  1:04pm
marq:

Derek! Very weird. I am wearing my hat made in Cork Ireland. And I never wear this hat.
  1:10pm
Matt:

Andy T. - I actually saw Donald Fagen star in a production of DRACULA, playing Renfield's doctor. He was pretty good. I tried to get him to sign my copy of YOU GOTTA WALK IT LIKE YOU TALK IT afterwards, but he blew me off. Jerk.
  1:11pm
marq:

Speaking of vampire like music. I found a record Toccatas for Organ by Robert Owen. He plays Organ of Christ Church. Has Suite Gothique and Henriette Roget's Cortge Funebre. I cranked that up and the whole house vibrates something creepy.
  1:20pm
Mike East:

great set, Hatch. keep it comin
  1:28pm
Matt:

Hatch, are you still watching TRUE BLOOD? What are your thoughts on this season?
  1:31pm
Hatch:

I have watched all of it. Not building to much of a climax this season, too many sub-plots. But it's still entertaining.
  1:34pm
marq:

any vampires who wore white that anyone can think of? Because today is the last day to wear white. Its Labor Day. Boss Hog wasn't a vampire, Was he?
  1:34pm
Matt:

Yeah, this season peaked at around Episode 6 and it's been downhill ever since. Russell is a terrific addition, though. He's probably the best character the show will ever have, which makes it even worse that he'll probably be written out in the lamest way possible next week. Oh, TRUE BLOOD, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
  1:40pm
mario c:

yes it is illegal to have anything on the fire escape including grills, plants, rugs, gnomes, etc.
  1:47pm
Hatch:

Well I'll have to build a fire somewhere else then. Thanks Mario.
  1:51pm
Matt:

Marq - Your question is comical! What right-thinking vampire would wear white? Blood would show all too clearly on white garments, thus exposing the vampire for the blood-sucking freak he (or she) is! No, better to go with black, or a deep maroonish.
  2:03pm
max:

hey, has anyone tried Madlibs coffee yet? I dont even drink coffee and I want it
  2:08pm
max:

sorry, madlibs espresso: http://www.stonesthrow.com/news/2010/08/madlib-espresso-blend
  2:10pm
Hatch:

Well... that's odd. I wonder how it compares to David Lynch's coffee?
  2:14pm
max:

I would say that I feel safer drinking Madlib coffee as opposed to David Lynch coffee, but doesnt Madlib claim to sleep something like 2 hours a night? His coffee would probably kill you
  2:19pm
max:

kanye west had the maroon five dude, jayz had the coldplay dude
  2:20pm
Hatch:

Same difference.
  2:45pm
B. LaBonte:

Wait a minute.....I just realized that you were MAKING FUN of Sting. How DARE you, sir.
  2:47pm
marq:

Matt- It would be comical, wouldn't it? To be a vampire and insist on wearing white all the time. But people who wear white all the time are really good at not getting anything on themselves. I wonder what alien vampires wear on other planets. Because I think the blood is green like on Mars and elsewhere.
  2:51pm
Hatch:

Is Sting a vampire?
  2:54pm
B. LaBonte:

If by "vampire" you mean "hard-hitting pop genius," then let me think about it.
  2:55pm
Matt:

Hey Hatch, are you gonna catch GBV on their upcoming tour?
  2:55pm
marq:

Sting wears dark clothes. and collars up a lot

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9n816j7EPLw/SYqDoWMyfxI/AAAAAAAAAdY/hJtaesMKkyQ/s400/sting.bmp
  2:56pm
Hatch:

How could I miss GBV? Hopefully they'll do some Sting covers.
  2:57pm
Matt:

From your lips to God's ears, sir!
  2:59pm
Matt:

It's almost over, isn't it? Oh, well. Great show, Hatch! I had fun hanging out with you all this afternoon. Have a good (rest of) Labor Day, all!
  3:01pm
Hatch:

Thanks! Nice being here with y'all.
