(Memo to self: Discover way to better utilize daylight savings limbo one year from now.)
  1:55am
emmagineering:

haha... i was recently reading the iggy pop biography and got to the dark drug-fueled raw power era and it just got to be a bit dark and depressing. i should crack that one open when i'm bursting with joy, just to bring my spirits back down to earth. like papa smurf.
  2:05am
Joe McG:

Papa Smurf!
  2:08am
emmagineering:

everything tastes better with whipped sounds?
  2:11am
Joe McG:

Certainly that Bryan Ferry cut did! I take back what I said about every version of that song being great.
  2:16am
emmagineering:

hahaha... i ran over to my computer to make sure there wasn't some annoying pop up ad trying to get my attention. Oh Bryan... seemed very superimposed! haha.... at least get them to whip to the beat, right?
  2:18am
Joe McG:

I did my best! Who knew that the Siren had a bullwhip? I need to do a little Photoshop work on that old Roxy album cover, I think....
  2:20am
Joe (D.):

you guys are bananas. 4 hours of bananas.

its the best.
  2:21am
Joe McG:

Thanks, man! I should've played "Banana Boat" by Jane Birkin.
  10:25am
Mike Sin:

Glad to see someone else giving that 1970 Jake Holmes' LP a try -- I bought a used copy simply because I liked the cover so much! I thought it not as strong as his first two LPs, but it has its moments.
  8:46am
Dave Jones:

Coba Seas rock!!! You got anything else by them?
  10:07am
Tatoo Lizzy:

Love those Coba Seas! They totally rock!!! Never heard of 'em before... whatta vintage sound. Takes me back to the high school prom. Where can I get their album?
  10:14am
Joe McG:

Hey, Dave and Lizzy--Shameless plug here for Norton Records, who put the album out (I don't think it's out yet officially, but it should be in a matter of days/weeks). It sounds a bit more sedate at the right speed, but it's still great (I played it at 45 'cause it sounds amazing that way).
