Listener comments!

  3:13am
Adam:

Greetings, fellow night/dawn folk, and early Merry Christmas! Bill, I'm glad music this fantastic is here in Jesse's absence. How eerie is it that Beefheart's date of death falls just before Zappa's date of birth? If there is an afterlife, they should be reunited in song as of this weekend...and missed here for long, long into the future. RIP
  3:17am
coalhard:

thanks WFMU for playing "best of" last few days--was EXTRAORDINARY
  3:17am
Bill Mac:

Hey Adam,
Saddened but enlightened and inspired this weekend by Beef's passing and Zappa's 70th anniversary. Catch Brian's thread on "The Booglarizer RIP" on the blog. A nice moment at the Beacon with Dweezil and the audience.
  3:18am
Bill Mac:

Morning All!
  3:33am
John:

Loved the Beefheart tribute on your Saturday show now this...thanks!
  3:37am
Bill Mac:

Yo John, yeah I couldn't help myself... I got a sub opportunity and the stars aligned in such a way I had no choice... you'll be paying for this on xmas when you're subjected to yet more holiday music...
  3:46am
Steve:

The nicest gift you could have sent out to us listeners was to make these last two shows.
  3:53am
Bill Mac:

It's awesome Steve. I could play Beef and Zappa every week...
  4:06am
Jamesie:

I am listening and loving the show. Frank and Don saved me in my adolescence. Thanks for the programming choices, Bill. Dedicated to R Stevie Moore in these difficult times.
  4:10am
Bill Mac:

For sure. Stevie should warrant a special here. You could play his music for a day and still not be finished.
  4:12am
Jamesie:

Maybe you could put out some sort of appeal? I am mindful to be discreet here. Just a gentle suggestion?
  4:13am
Bill Mac:

That's the key.... I might just suggest that to the folks at the top here...
  4:14am
Jamesie:

Thanks and hope you can. If anyone has the muscle, WFMU has. Over and out.
  4:15am
Bill Mac:

Duly noted brother.....
  5:20am
eric:

been listening for over an hour, i had every song but rock around the clock and scumbag: i'm major Zappa fan, really lovin' it,
RIP Frank and the Captain!
  5:23am
Bill Mac:

Great Eric.... Frank was a big part of my formative years. I know good part of his catalog but there are gaping holes, especially after Sheik Yerbouti. I'll uncover some gem some that period every so often
  5:27am
eric:

album with london symphony orchestra is kind of interesting, i believe that was" jazz from hell"
  5:28am
Bill Mac:

I might have 3 minutes to squeeze something in from that....
  5:28am
John:

Eric, check out Bill's previous playlist...great 3 hour beefheart tribute
  5:30am
eric:

i plan on it , i think I heard a little of it, i loved moonbeams and blue jeans
  5:32am
Bill Mac:

Thanks John... appreciate that.
  5:35am
(mta) Tony:

Bill, you've got everyone freakin' out.

eric: since you're a big fan, you might be interested in contacting me for the never released, uncensored versions of:

Concentration Moon
It Can't Happen Here
Mother People
Harry, You're a Beast
Hot Poop

as well as the original version of Cocaine Decisions and We Are Not Alone from the vinyl album that was remixed and edited for the CD release.
If interested, just ask. I love sharing the ultra rare Zappa I have. I'll share with anyone.
  5:37am
Bill Mac:

Hey Tony
Your generosity knows no bounds... yeah this weekend has been a high point radio wise..
  5:38am
eric:

tony, that sounds cool
  5:48am
(mta) Tony:

If anyone's interested in the rare Zappa I've described, write to me at Tony@CDToaster.com.
Bill, if that ain't cool, just remove my post.
I've produced Freak Out!, Absolutely Free, We're Only In It For The Money, and The Man From Utopia in their original, uncensored, unedited, un-remixed, and originally sequenced form. Just ask.
  5:50am
Bill Mac:

I don't think that should be a problem Tony.... again thanks for offering
