A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

  9:02am
annie:

morning trouble!
  9:04am
Adrian in London:

Remembered! Morning Trouble and listeners. So, Inception: boring, right?
  9:05am
swiss bassist:

good morning, trouble, i am in the midst of spring cleaning, glad I have your tunes to clean to, hahaha, greetings form lac leman, from me and petite josephine
  9:05am
jonathan thomas:

Can't hear you, my roof's leaking!
  9:06am
swiss bassist:

yeah, the water makes me want to pee.....
  9:07am
mick:

spring cleaning ????
there`s a loooong way to go until that happens here...
  9:07am
seang:

just bending my knees
  9:09am
glenn:

inception was not only boring, it was poorly written, badly acted and basically a big steaming pile of pooh
  9:10am
annie:

for a second there i had to remind myself that there was also that movie called "avatar", that's the one to which i thought you were referring
  9:11am
trouble:

good morning all! bonjour lac leman. how old is lovely josephine now? 3?
  9:13am
swiss bassist:

hey, trouble, you remember all, how sweet..she just turned 4. and only wears pink. despite her punk parents... lac leman is warm today, ish, rain as well..
  9:13am
Gord (Toronto):

Ha! I am listening to this while working at the CBC right now!

Nice work, Trouble!
  9:14am
trouble:

fabulous! good morning canada!
  9:15am
trouble:

tell me gord is glenn gould revered as a national hero up there? i hope so...
  9:16am
glenn:

good morning trouble. (from all of canada)
  9:17am
Gord (Toronto):

There is a bench out in front of the Toronto Broadcast Centrre that has a statue of 'Gouldie' sitting on it. You can sit beside him and get your picture taken ... perhaps before attending a music concert at the Glenn Gould Studio!
  9:18am
Gord (Toronto):

http://www.cbc.ca/glenngould/
  9:19am
dc pat:

wow, Glenn Gould. Nice work trouble.
  9:19am
trouble:

oooh i saw that in the documentary i just watched on him. that looked kind of creepy, but only because i have a huge dislike of "lifelike" bronze people statues perhaps
  9:21am
Gord (Toronto):

He's way less creepy than Gordon Lightfoot - who isn't even dead yet!

But I could be fired for talking smack like that ... :)
  9:22am
dc pat:

the one guy sounds a bit like Jello Biafra.
  9:23am
glenn:

you'd have to kill peter mansbridge to get fired from the cbc, gord.
  9:24am
Adrian in London:

I've got a friend who lives in Igloolik, where they made Atarnarjuat, The Fast Runner; I haven't visited, the snow in London was bad enough.
  9:26am
glenn:

i recommend everybody watch ( if you can find it ) "talking to americans", produced by rick mercer. very funny stuff.
  9:26am
trouble:

oh no i don't think glenn gould is creepy, just the statue> early film and pics of him are gorgeous, very charming
  9:26am
Gord (Toronto):

Congratulations, Prime Minsiter Tim Horton on your first douoble double!
  9:30am
dc pat:

this is making me want to move to the great white north...
  9:32am
Jennique:

"and you'll convince yourself that this is really the life"

I actually have a friend who is en route to Antarctica for 6 months. This makes me think of her, but I don't know how to share it with her as she told me her internet hookup was spotty. I'll just have to wait until she gets back.
  9:33am
glenn:

other great stuff ; project grizzly, which is possibly the best documentary ever made, festival express and slings and arrows.
  9:35am
bored listener:

music please, i can hear this on Netflix
  9:36am
Tuck:

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. whah huh.. wha happened?
  9:37am
Louisville Dan:

I'm enjoying this Glenn Gould very much. Thanks Trouble.
  9:38am
Big Roy:

this is awesome.
  9:45am
dc pat:

yeah, how'd you know this is exactly what I wanted to hear right now?
  9:46am
Adrian in London:

This Tom Tom Club mix is quite a departure for them
  9:46am
CR:

this is kinda racist huh?
  9:51am
Adrian in London:

I've seen Petula Clark a couple of times on the King's Road
  9:55am
weather dude:

make that 8 to 14 inches
  9:56am
glenn:

canada isn't immune from racism, that's for sure.
  10:06am
Patrick:

good morning trouble! im looking forward to Ohio being totally crippled by 6 inches of snow today!
  10:07am
Aaron:

Jersey City to be buried alive by the perfect snowstorm! rock it now
  10:10am
Webhamster Henry:

Hi to Chris & Tina. Don't shuffle the record library!
  10:11am
trouble:

good morning patricjk! are you telling me that ohio isn't snow tastic?
  10:11am
Carmichael:

Good morning Trouble and Trubb-a-dours.
  10:11am
dc pat:

he Patrick, I lived in Cleveland and we didn't get crippled until it got to about 18" of snow.. Now here in DC, 2" will do it...
  10:15am
Aaron:

this serge album is great!
  10:15am
Cheri Pi:

I have this Sly & Robbie produced SG album! It's so much fun.
  10:16am
stingy d:

hope everybody doin good! i noticed that tom tom club had a dj set this morning! and the first thing i hear is kenny dope, which is always welcome in my book. lets hope the blizzard holds off. i'm trying to ride my bike!
  10:18am
Carmichael:

Hey Stingy, good to hear from you again. How's Gladys??
  10:19am
stingy d:

ha! gladys is good, she didn't get up yet. a natural born sleepyhead.
  10:21am
swiss bassist:

ah, you are so behind with all your snow. we are welcoming spring here...oooh.
  10:29am
Gord (Toronto):

Whoa -- big CBC update - someone has abandoned a couple of suitcases in front of the convention centre -- directly across from the Glenn Gould Studio!

The bomb squad has cordoned off the street!
  10:29am
stingy d:

tomorrow night as in january 4th or january 12th?
  10:30am
Gord (Toronto):

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2011/01/11/toronto-street-suspicious-package241.html
  10:30am
Carmichael:

Tina & Chris, I saw the Stop Making Sense tour at Freeborn Hall in Davis, CA. You guys were great back then (as TTC & Heads), and sounds like you still are now.
  10:31am
trouble:

tom tom club plays at irving plaza jan 12, 2011. they are on jimmy fallon's show tonite 1/11
  10:33am
trouble:

perhaps the suitcase was left off by some disgruntled flisteners, sad that we weren't rocking this morning...
  10:38am
randy in NC:

This is great! I saw TH at CBGB in '76 (or was it '77?) back when they were just 3 geeks in striped polo shirts. I have the TTC LP too and I wore out its grooves... I recently took my daughter to the Forever XXI store at a local mall and they were playing the TTC on the PA system. Still sounds good!
  10:40am
Gord (Toronto):

Glenn Gould is the Bob Marley of Canadian compsed music -- but Hugh LeCaine is the Scratch Perry
  10:42am
Gord (Toronto):

Actually, Gouldie is more like Jackie Mittoo -- and LeCaine is like Scientist or Prince Jammys
  10:45am
?:

and just for the record, Gordon Lightfoot rules
  10:46am
Gord (Toronto):

Hey don't get me wrong about Lightfoot. He's more like Bob Andy ...
  10:47am
Carmichael:

Have you seen SCTV's K-Tel style commercial Gordon Lightfoot Sings Every Song Ever Written? He's truly a legend!
  10:48am
Gord (Toronto):

but of course.

The thing that kills me abt. Lightfoot is how he always uses the words TIME and MIND so often in his songs.

Time to find my mind in the pines ... etc.
  10:49am
Gord (Toronto):

It's that northern loneliness that kilss me in Lightfoot's music.

Like being in a cottage with tons of pancakes -- but no maple syrup to be found ...
  10:50am
kwhitehead:

Wait a minute! I love WPKN!
  10:50am
dc pat:

ROCKERS? I thought this show was all about MODS!
  10:51am
glenn:

tons of pancakes will be the name of my new band - thanks, gord.
  10:52am
Gord (Toronto):

I was actually thinking of taking the title of lightfoot;s greatest hits - GORD'S GOLD

and making my own greatest hits album called
GORD'S GOULD --

with a picture of me sitting beside the Glenn Gould statue with my guitar and amp - Bo Diddley style.
  10:52am
trouble:

mockers, dc pat, mockers!
  10:54am
βrian:

Not as weighty as Gould's Goldbergs, though.
  10:54am
dc pat:

oh, yeah...duh, forgot.
  11:00am
glenn:

oh bo, you don't know diddley! whatever happened to bo jackson?
  11:01am
Cecile:

Bo Jackson is a stay-at-home dad last I checked. Living quietly and enjoying it.

Just lurking, I'm as busy as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.
  11:02am
Jennique:

Ah RISD alumni. Having gone there, I have to say it was a great place. There was a fountain on Benefit Street in front of the Anthenaeum where the myth was that if you drank from it, you were destined to return to Providence.
  11:03am
miketp:

on board almost forgot its trouble tuesday and the club
  11:03am
glenn:

by the way, it occurred to me the other day that the single best thing about canada is ....... sarah palin is american. hah hah hah.
  11:04am
Carmichael:

Hiya Cecile. I hear ya. Less people = more work per capita. I'm one of the few capitas left.
  11:04am
dc pat:

glenn: good one..
  11:05am
Cecile:

yeah, and I"m in a department of perpetual overachievers who don't know the word "no".

You also have Sloan and Schwartz's smoked meat. And Mike Holmes from Holmes on Homes. And Tim Horton's maple glazed donuts.
  11:05am
trouble:

hey miketp! i hear you have retired: super congrats to you! but i will always think of you when i go thru exit 16...
  11:07am
βrian:

Less people = less soylent green.
  11:07am
LT:

South Florida 1981, I was the only white kid bagging groceries at the local Winn-Dixie. One night about eight of us were at my house and I dropped Genius of Love. No one would believe white people were involved in making this record! The cartoon cover didn't help.
  11:09am
Richard from Venezuela:

Hi to the DJ and the listeners. Thanks for the song of Gleen Gould. A master.
  11:09am
glenn:

mike holmes, unfortunately, is a big douchebag. i'm with you on sloan, though.
  11:10am
miketp:

yes indeed trouble recently retirednow its time to sleep later and particpate in some drum circle jam outs here and over there. thank you ill never tire of good ol fmu though thats a constant
  11:11am
Cecile:

is he? Ah, well. I still wouldn't be upset if he gave me new siding.
  11:12am
Cecile:

I love his guy who snakes out the drains with the Desert Storm infrared camera.
  11:16am
trouble:

ola richard!
  11:18am
glenn:

i don't watch his show. i do talk to people who have been on his jobs (i'm a carpenter). not one person has anything good to say about him. he won't even bring coffee or maple glazed from timmy's. you should check out justin rutledge's music.
  11:20am
Gord (Toronto):

The bomb-bot is in EFFECT!
http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/News/Canada/Toronto/1305549802/ID=1565832308
  11:22am
schizflow:

ah! soft circle is going james murphy :(
  11:24am
Cecile:

Ah, that sucks. You get the feeling he is a hard taskmaster when you see some of the shows.

What does Justin Rutledge's music sound like?
  11:36am
listener mark:

good morning
today is 1/11/11 -- it is the nexus of the universe
  11:38am
dc pat:

"real" = only UK honkies know what good music is.
  11:41am
glenn:

  11:42am
trouble:

uuuuh, dc pat that is truly uncivil...
  11:44am
dc pat:

sorry.
  11:45am
Emily:

this song is nice!
  11:53am
Carmichael:

Mark, the nexus comes at exactly 1:11 PM Greenwich time.
Or maybe that's AM ... Never mind.
  11:54am
βrian:

Looks like it's just luggage, there in Toronto.
  11:56am
Ffordesoon:

I've got the WFMU app, and MAN. I think I've faved every song in the past hour!!! :D
  11:57am
still b/p:

Today's show has been the nexus of good.
  11:59am
glenn:

  11:59am
seang:

how about the year 1111, that November (11), etc
  12:00pm
Ffordesoon:
