I'm doing swell...thanks. Loving the theme - it's getting me through boring task...
  6:20pm marcury:

How many DJs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
  6:21pm Drummer Some:

Marcury, DJs prefer to screw in back alleys (while that long-player is spinning.)
  6:23pm marcury:

Always wondered what you do when the musics playing
  6:25pm Drummer Some:

Don't believe the hype. Most DJs are miserable misanthropes who couldn't hold a conversation if it had handles.
  6:29pm marcury:

That just proves the real answer. Three, one to change the bulb and two to complain that the original was better.
  6:30pm texas scott:

I'll just leave this here...

  6:36pm marcury:

Probably Scott Muni on the old WNEW when he would do Things from England on Friday afternoons.
  6:36pm glenn:

will any of this stuff be showing up on the free music archive?
  6:38pm monica:

Larry Lujack on WLS in Chicago.
  6:39pm Ike:

Dr. Demento, I guess. Grew out of that. Then I liked lots of DJs at WHFS but I don't remember them very well now.
  6:40pm Drummer Some:

Glenn, it won't be on the Free Music Archive, but this show surely will be archived..
  6:42pm Drummer Some:

Ike, do you remeber Damian at WHFS. He's the one who continued to do his radio show, despite the speech impediment after suffering a brain injury in a car accident. His father owned WHFS and wanted to remove Damian, but his fans rallied to his support. (Am I remembering this correctly?)
  6:42pm <Sigurdur:

thanks for the great sound
  6:44pm Drummer Some:

You're welcome, Sigurdur!
  6:45pm marcury:

I can't believe you're playing this. A true blast from the past!
  6:48pm Ike:

Oh yeah Doug, how could anybody forget Damian? He moved over to WRNR in Annapolis, which was never quite as good as the old HFS. Not sure if he's still there. As a heartless teen, I sometimes grumbled to myself, "I can't understand this guy AT ALL! Why's he talking on the air?! Equal opportunity, phooey!" But when I heard the story of the car accident, I reconsidered.
  6:53pm joshuahhh:

DJ Shadow samples all over the place!
  6:55pm glenn:

wasn't ralph emory the guy that the byrds wrote drug store truck drivin' man about?
  6:57pm Drummer Some:

DJ Shadow counts Steinski as a huge influence. (Anyone with ears should count Steinski as a huge influence.)
  6:58pm marcury:

An hour is too short
  6:56am Zoe Baxter:

'Only Woman DJ with Degree' by Sister Nancy. Refers to DJ in the Jamaian sense as toaster/MC/lyricist. Loving the show, as always.
  12:49pm Misty Mills:

Morris Mills, of Morris Mills & the Rithumakers, was my grandfather. Would you be interested in selling that record?
  11:06am Jack Etzel:

A Disc Jockey's Christmas Eve / Herb Dotson? There was no such person. I was an out-of-work radio reporter. A Chicago friend of mine worked for the head of Stacy Records and said I could get some "advance on royalties" money from his boss if I would record a couple of poems he had written years earlier. I said "No" because someday my name and reputation would be shot for making such a terrible recording. He came up with a fake name, and I came up with a fake country-sounding voice, and until this moment it's been a big secret. Sales of the record, I imagine, have also remained an even bigger secret! But, it was fun. - Jack Etzel, (Writer, Broadcaster, Educator.)
