Listener comments!

  12:05pm Cecile:

Good afternoon!
11th Dream Day, Mr Belock?
  12:05pm SmokinJ:

Mornin' Joe! It's Miller time!
  12:05pm Carmichael:

Great start, Joe! We were yakking about the Kinks over on Jason's board; apparently, there are some non-believers. Can you set them straight today?
  12:08pm Cecile:

I believe in the Kinks. I also believe they made some terrible albums. Call me a Kafeteria Kinks Kultist.
  12:10pm SmokinJ:

Stick with Prince Cecile..
  12:11pm glenn:

i agree, cecile, they did make some crappy records. but, they have more good records and songs than any other band, bar none. and, i'd like to point out, the rolling stones haven't made a good record since some girls, which is what, 1978?
  12:12pm lynn truss:

who's prince cecile?
  12:13pm Carmichael:

Who's the loneliest monk?
  12:13pm Woo:

She's Got Everything by the Kinks has the greatest guitar solo ever. Goes for about 10 seconds tops.
  12:14pm Cecile:

I'm Cecile. I'm from Minneapolis, and I think J was saying indirectly my 11th Dream Day request sucked.

It's all good.
  12:15pm Carmichael:

I just recently found out that Prince was the dead guy in the snow in a scene from Fargo.
  12:15pm SmokinJ:

In a good way ;)
  12:16pm Cecile:

LOL, J! Much love.
  12:16pm SmokinJ:

Ditto babe...
  12:20pm Cecile:

YES. Love this.
  12:21pm SmokinJ:

HELL YES!
  12:21pm glenn:

see. told ya.
  12:21pm dc pat:

WHOOOOO!!!!
  12:23pm Cecile:

THANK YOU JOE.
  12:25pm Joe B:

That dead air before the Sights tune was titled "Looking for requests!"
  12:25pm SmokinJ:

Now ya' tell us!
  12:27pm SmokinJ:

A little Fleshtones would pick me up a bit..
  12:28pm Cecile:

Stop Fooling Aroung, J.
  12:28pm Marmalade Kitty:

GREAT SET!! o.O
  12:28pm dc pat:

Carm: well that's another one we have to verify. Cecile, can you back Carm up on "Prince-in-the-snow"? How's "Paul-played-guit-on-Taxman" coming?
  12:28pm Carmichael:

Yes, thanks a million or two, Joe!
  12:29pm SmokinJ:

WHA? Aroung?
  12:29pm Cecile:

Maybe? I think he's too frail to be that cold, personally.
  12:30pm Cecile:

Around....
  12:30pm dc pat:

I'm with Joe.
  12:30pm Cecile:

They've done one record before....wow, a new one! Nice.
  12:31pm Carmichael:

I saw the credits at the end. They said Dead Man in Snow, and the credit was that odd sign that he was using as his name at the time.
  12:31pm Cecile:

Oh, cool.

Joe, their major label stuff was just as good, ha, you said that.

I call it the "jawbox" effect.
  12:32pm dc pat:

good enough for me.
  12:35pm dc pat:

Hey Carm, should we ask Joe to get rid of your email address so you don't get a truckload of spam?
  12:35pm efd:

Dave Lawson, the bass player, is the one who left. It's a friendly departure as far as I can tell from Facebook.
  12:35pm still b/p:

G'wan. imdb.com says joke and intentional rumor jive.
  12:36pm Cecile:

ha! I knew it. He's too tiny and frail. Like a funky baby bird.
  12:37pm glenn:

i heard jimi hendrix played guitar on some c.c.r. stuff, i think on i put a spell on you, or i heard it through the grapevine. truth or rumour?
  12:37pm Mike East:

I'll sign that petition as many times as I can. I missed the remote on Sunday because my sister decided to have a birthday party for my Grandfather and then he didn't show. I listened though. Glen Jones is my hero.
  12:38pm still b/p:

And such an awful actor, he'd even bungle bein' a stiff.
  12:39pm Joe B:

I never heard that about Hendrix
  12:41pm Cecile:

I don't think John Fogerty would have allowed it, IMO
  12:42pm Joe B:

Fogerty barely allowed the other CCR guys to play
  12:43pm Joe B:

Thanks Evan. too bad, guess they will play bass on the keys
  12:44pm efd:

Re the people at Maxwell's asking when you'd be back on the air, I got a call during my show a couple of weeks ago from someone who was convinced he was listening to YOUR show (at night!), and then didn't believe me when I said I'd been on WFMU for 6 years. There are a lot of people out there who don't really pay attention.
  12:44pm Cecile:

That's right, Joe!
  12:46pm Joe B:

Efd, in addition to that, I went to back-to-back Christmas parties where 2 or 3 different people at each party asked me the same thing!
  12:48pm efd:

It's a wonder they even knew you were off the air at all!
  12:52pm Carmichael:

OK DC, I hit you back. I'm abandoning that hotmail addy anyway, so no big deal.
Re: Dead Prince, I just saw it on the credits. If them Coen Bros was joking, so be it.
  12:53pm Joe B:

Carmichael, I can kill that post if you want with the email addy in it.
  12:53pm Carmichael:

Sure Joe, go for it. Thx.
  1:01pm dc pat:

Hmmm, interestinger and interestinger...
  1:02pm glenn:

speaking of baseball - will the phillies go 162 and 0 this year?
  1:06pm Carmichael:

DC, that's not my real name either. Sorry. Glenn, the cham-peens of the world are out here in my backyard. If anyone is 162-0, it'd be them. Let Timmy smoke!!
  1:09pm dc pat:

Yeah, I kind of figured. You'll always be Carm to me...
  1:12pm CheriPi:

Are we still hating?
  1:13pm glenn:

they got lincecum and who else? the phillies got halliday, lee, oswalt and hamels.
  1:16pm Carmichael:

Only certain Canadians, Cheri.
  1:18pm dc pat:

I dunno Cheri, I feel like I got it out of my system...
  1:19pm CheriPi:

Priestess gave a very weak performance near Cincinnati last month. It was so disappointing-those separatists.
  1:19pm Lizardner Dave:

RSM looking to hit a studio. Really!http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rstvmo/r-stevie-moore
  1:19pm CheriPi:

Dc pat-I feel purged as well, it felt good to finally be able to shout it from the WFMU mountain tops.
  1:21pm dc pat:

fmu comments are all the psychoanalysis rawkers need....
  1:22pm Joe B:

Thanks Dave, I was just gonna post that! Please pass that along to facebook or friendster or whatever the thing is these days!
  1:25pm Carmichael:

Quiet everyone! I hear the cowbell!!
  1:42pm dc pat:

[can we talk again?]
  1:45pm SmokinJ:

Ask Cecile..
  1:51pm glenn:

walter mathau is criminally underrated.
  1:54pm CheriPi:

DMBQ-Yessssssssssssss
  1:59pm Carmichael:

Dang, it was just a joke. Talk away ....
  2:08pm dc pat:

holy crap!! I heard the first couple notes of this and thought "hey I wonder if Joe has any Pop Rivets.." great album.
  2:29pm Berbo:

"Votre living room en flamme". Yeah, I know how that feels.
  2:57pm Mike East:
