Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from January 25, 2011 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

  3:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey everyone!
Primitive Calculators was great--for those who like the lyrical rhythms of Lesley Gore but wish, it was a TAD more hardcore, there you go!
  3:11pm
h b:

I tried out for the police's SWAB team, but didn't qualify.
  3:17pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

too non-absorbent?
  3:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: They hired someone else, Charles Schwab, I think it was. They're such SNAWBs.
  3:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Son of P.M. was Thai--korp khun krap, Brian!

Naga is a Buddhist concept--is there any conceptual connection to Buddhist on that album?
  3:26pm
osvi:

Nurse with Wound @ work...perfect!
  3:27pm

All the Hollywood Dreamers are waiting for you to play "World's On Fire" by Victoria De Mare (d'Mar) from her debut album Actress on Flesh-O-Rama!
Hey, Brian, the lyrics of the song make sense the night of Obama's message to the USA.
  3:37pm
dc pat:

that's a little...uh, out there for 1974, don't you think?
  3:44pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

  4:05pm
Matt from Springfield:

Whoa--this IS early Seger! Doesn't even sound like him, even "Sock It To Me Santa" you can tell it's Bob Seger!
  4:06pm
Tom:

Dont know this Seger track ... it's like James Brown beltin out Dylan with Ron Asheton playing along.
  4:10pm
Matt from Springfield:

Now what would this genre be? "German Nintendo-core"?
@Tom: That's true, I agree!
  4:16pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Hi all.
  4:18pm
Joel:

What happened to Diane today?
  4:21pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

she misspelled her name and turned into Duane
  4:22pm
Matt from Springfield:

Genghis, on the other hand, seems to have had acid trips and the BBC Radiophonic Workship converge on him today.
  4:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Richard. What's new today?
  4:28pm
Ike:

@DCE, wow, then I'm just one letter away from turning myself into any number of Mikes. Do I want to be DJ Mike Lupica? A great writer/DJ, but I'd also have to take care of a little snot-monster, so I'll skip that. Besides I don't really know which Mike I'd get. I might end up being Mike the fat plumber from Bayonne, or Mike the homeless guy who lives under a bridge in Branch Brook Park. Hmm... I'll be even more careful with my spelling than usual, then.
  4:31pm
Richard from Venezuela:

All good Matt. Yohandry Orozco, a under 20 soccer player for my country, score an amazing goal yesterday against Perú. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2vGqBQG86k
  4:34pm
SiHV:

Diane said last week that she'd be on that Heavy Metal cruise ship thing.
  4:35pm
Tom:

whoa, Richard! Was that a friendly?
  4:35pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Ike, if you had a really bad day at the keyboard you could turn into an ilk
  4:37pm
Richard from Venezuela:

No tom. Its an official qualifying game to the under 20 world cup in Colombia.
  4:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Richard: The goalie just couldn't stop that!
@DCE: I've noticed you posting as DC "Ryes" and other variations before.
  4:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

DC "Lies", etc etc...
  4:39pm
Tom:

Aha ... cool.
  4:39pm
NYC Metro Area:

Please play "World's On Fire" by Victoria De Mare(d'Mar)! We are all dying to hear it here! We love her!!!
  4:42pm
Mike from Corona Queens:

@NYC Metro Area: We "all"? I beg to differ...
  4:43pm
mingo:

"history don't happen by accident, it's planned"...
  4:48pm
Ike:

What's a good punishment for a pathetic msg board shill? Dip 'em in sticky habanero tar, cover with scratchy feathers, and push across Brooklyn Bridge in a rusty wobbly shopping cart?
  4:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

Habanero tar? Is that from the kitchen where they make the "suicide six" hot wings?
  4:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

no, that's from my chili pepper bong!
  4:52pm
Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: But remember, the Surgeon General says that "low" habanero tar chili peppers are just as spicy, and make pot just as potent.
  4:53pm
Matt from Springfield:

If Willie Nelson was the Surgeon General, perhaps. Oh, to dream...
  4:56pm
nikki in london//uk:

awesome playlist!
  4:56pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

haha, that'd be a larf!
  4:57pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

well, I'm going home to smoke some serranos...
  4:59pm
Ike:

@Matt@4:49, it's a product of my feverish imagination, which also brought you dairy-free mangosteen ice cream, and robotic pirate-radio-destroying hawks with laser beam eyes (only for pirates interfering with FMU and KCR, of course). Habanero tar is also used to pave roads for cars that run on capsaicin instead of gasoline.

SEEFEEL! (Loved that Mattin and Go4 too.)
  5:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ike: LOL!
I had dairy-free mangosteen ice cream in Thailand. They called it "mangosteen", and it doubled as a alcohol-free liquid-free mangosteen cocktail.
  5:10pm
mingo:

or go fucoffee...
  5:18pm
On My Knees:

Please, please, please play "World's On Fire" by Victoria De Mare. Dying to hear it! Dying! Please! Thank You.
  5:19pm

  5:22pm
On My Knees:

The video is not up on YouTube yet & the record won't be for sale on iTunes until Friday! I was told it would be playing on Brian's show today.
  5:25pm
