The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

  6:01pm
Danne D:

Hey everyone :)
  6:01pm
John McCabe in L.A.:

hi Danne D
  6:02pm
Everyone:

Straw, Danne
  6:04pm
Lizardner Dave:

Gristeeds? Andy is originally from the NY area, right?
  6:04pm
Robert:

Stealing gags from Irwin.
  6:05pm
Citizen of Dubuque:

Let's get some pop in the Gristeeds over there.
  6:05pm
Danne D:

John McCabe s'up :)
Straw?
S'up Dave and Robert
  6:06pm
Robert:

Or maybe I'm remembering wrong and Ken previewed that line about tunneling this AM.
  6:07pm
Lizardner Dave:

Evenin' Danne. Another Wednesday night working late at the office with you and Ken and Andy. Someday by God I'll leave work early and get to the UCB theater in person.
  6:07pm
Robert:

Anyway, what Andy must've meant is that being under a Gristedes is a class act compared to being under a Safeway or a Pathmark, etc.
  6:09pm
Danne D:

I wish I'd have consulted this guy when I tried out for the second edition of The Mole :(
  6:10pm
A. in Essex Co. NJ:

@Lizardner@6:04: He's from NJ, not NYC, ain't he? No Gris-TEE-dees in NJ. We got much better supermarkets out here, like ShopRite, w/out funny names.
  6:11pm
Robert:

Oh yeah, no funny names...like Wawa.
  6:12pm
Or:

Piggly Wiggly or Food Lion, further out from the city...
  6:12pm
Danne D:

oh, I probably would be screwed anyhow...

actually I tried out for Deal or No Deal when ABC had the rights (brilliant folks over there making programming decisions). Anyhow, that was probably the one screen test I actually did good. The funny part was my friend and I had a fairly flimsy connection as these show go (we worked on a campaign at the same time and lived 3000 miles away) which compared to the compelling father/daughter combos didn't seem all that much to work with.

We had to screen test in front of the other folks (which they said was due to time but that was bullshit - they totally wanted us to audition in front of a room). Anyhow I recall hearing one of the other people mutter "that's fucking brilliant" and "how are we gonna follow that?" after we went which felt pretty good :)
  6:13pm
monica:

Jorge from Groomer Has It used to give Butter her baths at NY Dog Spa before he hit it "big"!
  6:13pm
Lizardner Dave:

No recognition applause for Nick the Bard?
  6:15pm
Danne D:

Everybody on the line when I auditioned for The Mole basically looked like me - average high white male dark hair glasses.

My best chance might've been when I tried out for Weakest Link as I felt I had a "type" for that one as that show had a slot for "know it all prick" and I was able to play that convincingly.
  6:17pm
Danne D:

This is awesome audition practice for these folks btw (doing it in front of a full room).
  6:18pm
John McCabe in L.A.:

hey Nick do you still have that awesome WFMU smock
  6:18pm
Coach:

Nick's gotta stuff the FUCKING FUMFERING.
  6:19pm
Danne D:

yeah - the story itself is good. he needs polish though (but not too much polish)
  6:22pm
Danne D:

Crap - this guy's reading the mandatory diary I had to keep during 4th grade (which basically was always a recap of that week's bowling league performance - until the teacher yelled at me anyway).
  6:32pm
John McCabe in L.A.:

i'm the only listener in west hills CA i think
  6:34pm
Happy Listener:

That was a great interview! I remember Crazy magazine, and it's mascot Obnoxio the Clown.
  6:36pm
fleep:

how about Help! from the early 60s it was Harvey Kurtzman's mag
  6:38pm
Robert:

He mentioned "Help!", several others i knew of, and a shitload I didn't.
  6:40pm
Robert:

And all of it was to set up an inside joke in "Brazil".
  6:41pm
Happy Listener:

Help!'s a little before my time - a 70s/80s kid, here.
  6:42pm
kat330.tumblr.com:

McCabe, hey! I used to work in Chatsworth. Did you know of Learning Tree U. ?
  6:42pm
Danne D:

They should have Julianne recreate the Nick The Bard story.
  6:47pm
Or:

Just have her julienne Nick alive.
  6:47pm
Happy Listener:

bwahahaha
  6:50pm
Happy Listener:

Wow, I just found a bunch of digitally preserved Help! mags. Awesome!
  6:51pm
hank:

  6:54pm
Lizardner Dave:

I like Jeffrey Lewis.
  6:55pm
Happy Listener:

I really loved his History of Punk.
  6:57pm
glenn:

  6:57pm
Happy Listener:

...and this is a very cool history lesson, here.
  6:58pm
Lizardner Dave:

Virtual recognition applause for History of Punk.
  6:58pm
Lizardner Dave:

Shocked that Andy doesn't at least know "Kill For Peace". Seriously.
  6:59pm
Danne D:

Have a good night everyone :)
  6:59pm
Happy Listener:

U2
  7:00pm
Robert:

I've been to a Wawa, but I don't think I went in.
  7:01pm
Fatal Flaw Found:

Julianne Moore never showed up! They didn't even plan having her!
  7:01pm
Robert:

No, wait, I did, to buy a newspaper for a friend.
  7:02pm
glenn:

wawa is a town in northern ontario, halfway between sault st marie and thunder bay.
  7:02pm
Robert:

The the Fatal Flaw would've been if she'd actually shown up, no?
