  9:06am
pierreall (formely un-known as pierre):

Bonjour Jason !
hello every listeners !
  9:08am
Neg-guh-tor:

Let's Active! Good call Jason. I go way back with Mitch and Sara( drummer). They live right up the road. Sara is the sister of Dex Romwebber of Flat duo Jets fame!
  9:09am
annie:

good morning jason! great music to paint a room by
  9:10am
pierreall (formely un-known as pierre):

@ Neg-guh-tor : Flat duo jets are great ! just saying
  9:10am

  9:13am
glenn:

always room for flat duo jets. - lucky eye?
  9:15am
pierreall (formely un-known as pierre):

yeah, always up for the Flat Duo Jets they made a amazing "sing sing sing" cover. But i trust your instinct to choose wisely. That'd be great !
  9:16am
glenn:

i think (it's a blur) i saw let's active with the cramps in toronto in 1982, maybe. they were pretty good, as i recall.
  9:18am
Iliana:

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii guys. welcome back from sx jason
  9:20am
Chris from DC:

Saw Let's Active open for REM in the student center at Rutgers for maybe 75 people.
  9:20am
Cheri Pi:

Yes please play Flat Duo jets!
  9:29am
Neg-guh-tor:

Yes! Play some. I like 'White Trees' and ' Lucky Eye'. I hired Dex to play a dinner on Valentine's Day this year. I gave him a 1955 Gretsch Duo Jet Guitar to which he replied, "who are you?"
  9:34am
Neg-guh-tor:

Went and saw OFF! Last night and talked to Keith Morris and Steve McDonald a bit. Really great show! My friends in Double Negative were just as good.
  9:36am

  9:45am
Tom:

  9:46am
Cheri Pi:

my "stream" is fine thank you for asking.
  9:46am
still b/p:

Not to my ears/speakers. Sounds balanced.
  9:46am
Iliana:

I don't think so. But this song is a little too dissonant for the morning.
  9:47am
Tom:

DJ Bee Dubs, this is earyyy for u. Maybe u haven't gone 2 bed yet??
  9:47am
BSI:

Right channel does seem a bit, shall we say, slacking in its duties. Not out, but low.
  9:47am
Cecile:

Suishou No Fune in Minneapolis several years ago. It was bittersweet because their good friend, drummer Matt Zaun from Salamader/Di Dollari had just passed.

  9:48am
Cheri Pi:

Which character do you see yourself as, Jason, from WKRP?
  9:48am
Cecile:

thank you for the suishou.
  9:49am
Tom:

Jason = Fever all the way. Bee Dubs = Les.
  9:50am
bw:

my stream is constant as well - sounds loud and clear
  9:51am
jason:

this is probably not a good song to test with, it's really low in the right channel to begin with
  9:51am
jason:

i dunno cheri pi, i've never identified with a character from wkrp but should i?
  9:52am
Cecile:

annie, the place you're at looks amazing. I hope it jumpstarts that little community.
  9:52am
Dominick:

Right channel has been low since yesterday
  9:54am
annie:

cecile, i hope it does.... the economy here is mostly farming and colleges.. very little industry to speak of
  9:54am
still b/p:

The triumph of the left!
  9:55am
hamburger:

I only stick one headphone in my ear since I'm at work, so ho diddly hum hey? :)
  9:55am
Dominick:

right on!
  9:55am
Cecile:

Hunh. Sounds a little like where I came from.

But clever marketing can make it a destination.
  9:55am
Cheri Pi:

I would say Andy Travis, because you're more serious than most of the DJ's.
  9:56am
Cecile:

We loved Fidel last week, but missed you.
  9:56am
dc pat:

hamburger: same here, funny. So my left ear is doin' what it wants while my right ear is takin' shit from the man.
  9:57am
annie:

pat, that's how i use the headphones too when i public.. sharing the ears, so to speak.
  9:57am
Scott W:

looks like about a 3db discrepancy, thanks all you golden earses! will hup to...
  9:58am
glenn:

if you want to know your wkrp character - http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=wkrp
  9:59am
hamburger:

just so happens my left ear is the one taking all the crap from the man! but y'know what with 'thinking on the right side of your brain'.. maybe that's just as well...
  9:59am
Cecile:

annie, the people doing the inn wouldn't be amiss to check up on Beekman1802 - they're working with others in their small community to make it a destination. Of course they have the Martha Stewart connection and the reality show, but still. Maybe a call to the Planet Green channel wouldn't be out of order.
  10:03am
Eric:

Argh, I should know this, but Jason what is your bed music loop from?

Great show -- diggin' mucho!
  10:07am
still b/p:

Ain't no leftie triumph in my state. After already jabbing electric prods and dropping earwigs in the left ear since he arrived, Gov. LePalooka's latest provocation is to strip, peel and fillet some art for the businessman's lunch:

  10:09am

  10:18am
Cecile:

WAR! One of my very favorite bands.
  10:19am
Cecile:

War's Platinum Jazz was the best-selling album on Blue Note for years
  10:21am
Cecile:

And it sounds like it was recorded yesterday.
  10:22am
BodegaMan:

hope the next 20 mins is like the last 20 mins. Keep it goin' Jason.
  10:22am
Cheri Pi:

I own no WAR; that will change this weekend.
  10:23am
Cecile:

their greatest hits doesn't have this on it, but is filler-free. I own 3 copies on vinyl in case so I always have one in case of the apocalypse.
  10:24am
still b/p:

That War track's on the "git it" list for me, too.

The arrow's lingering, as if there are new/added comments at the bottom of the list, when I'm already at the bottom. Izzit an itch that goes with a Firefox update? Anybody else got it?
  10:25am
pierreall (formely un-known as pierre):

@cecile: true,"The Black-Man's Burdon" was a revelation, i remeber a (not as) good (as wfmu) french radio, FIP, played "painted black" the whole 13 minutes or so… that night i was somewhere else.
  10:25am
Cecile:

Someone told me it was going out of print, and it was pre-CD, so I bought up a bunch.

Cheri, if you want one on vinyl, maybe Jason can give you my email.
  10:25am
Cheri Pi:

Thanks Cecile, I'll look for it at my local record store.
  10:25am
Cecile:

Oooh, Jason, can you play I Hear The Sirens by the Dirtbombs?
  10:26am
Cheri Pi:

we should definitely exchange emails, I'll ask jason.
  10:26am
Cecile:

  10:26am
Amanda:

  10:26am
joe:

  10:26am
Cecile:

Cool, Cheri.
  10:29am
Cheri Pi:

A friend of mine has 10's of copies of Roy Ayres "everybody loves the sunshine" in case of the apocalypse.

  10:31am
Bug:

The Screamers! Yes!
  10:31am

I don't want to be fighting rats for food if I don't have "The Cisco Kid" to come home to.
  10:31am
Cecile:

Papa Du Plenty.
  10:31am

  10:34am

Book of Eli...not a very good movie...but I see Cecile traveling the wasteland like Denzel, with righteous focus and a big knife, and with the War LP in the knapsack.
  10:34am
Iliana:

  10:56am
Cheri Pi:

I found a long lost MC Paul Barman cd in my home the other evening, one of the songs name checked WFMU. I wonder how many other songs are out there that do that? WFMU sh should get 17 cents everytime the song is played.
  10:59am
Cecile:

  10:59am
Iliana:

@Radioman I looked him up and was sad that not everything sounded like "Quittin Time"

Hi Jason and all commentators. Have just returned from India and re their music scene, notwithstanding Bollywood, 'rock' seems to be the big theme there.
While no way intended as definitive:
Motherjane - alternativerock
The Bicycle Days - alternativepsychedelic
Shaa'ir + Func - electrorock
Scribe - hardcoremetal
Bhayanak Maut - hardcoremetal
Two notably abiding memories chilling with some nice sounds there were, Hindu priests chanting and bells ringing after sunset in Varanasi, besides the Ganges. And listening to a radio with a poor signal playing beautiful old Indian ballads in a chai (a mixture of tea brewed with aromatic Indian spices and herbs) shack in a 'Jungle Book' jungle in Kerala. All I need now is a holiday to get over it all :")

  11:45am
Iliana:

@Radioman "I think we're having a misunderstanding"ha.I just meant, I had high hopes for Patrick Lee based on "Quittin Time" , but I only like that one song.

@powviva Matt from Pissed Jeans is one of my two indie rock crushes. Really excited to see them in DC on Friday for the third time.
